@PyroRegia: The discord message appears as an "Embed" so that's what it needs to be able to post. Maybe it counts as links, I'm not sure. But that's a good point and I'll need to add it to the discord instructions
Note that it only applies to character sheets, not to monsters. As for assigning players to tokens, that's a Roll20 thing, I suggest you run their tutorial to see how to do that.
2 - To have a character target a monster, you need to have the player controlling the character say out loud "I want to target this monster", then the DM takes mental note of that, and it works :D lol. Sorry, Roll20 has no concept of targetting as far as I know.
I noticed you've compared Roll20 to Fantasy Ground. If you're just switching over and trying Roll20 for the first time, then let me tell you that you're probably going to be much much better off giving Foundry VTT a try instead. I've compeletly dropped Roll20 in favor of Foundry VTT and it was the best decision I ever made (in this context :p).
FVTT is close to release but is currently available to patrons of https://patreon.com/foundryvtt as beta. It's a self hosted application that you'd run on your machine and have your players connect to your machine via their browser. If you don't want to set up the server yourself and would prefer an ease of use and experience closer to Roll20's with the software being provided as a service, then I've also recently started my web hosting project The Forge (currently in the beta phase, available to my own patrons at https://patreon.com/kakaroto).
Guys, I just wanted to say thank you for Beyond20. My group has started experimenting with Roll20 for remote gaming and this is a complete game changer. Lots of love for everyone involved.
@DxJxC - @Infernal_Majesty : Thanks, it's getting really annoying when people get worried about your legitimate website because some company can't be bothered to actually do its job and check for trojans instead of blocking the entire domain with thousands of legitimate websites with it.
However, many of my PCs tried doing the same this week and were only able to sync their token HP if they had their token actively selected in Roll20 when making HP value changes in Roll20 or D&DBeyond. Do you know if that is normal behavior? I do not have to do this as the DM to update their tokens so found it strange.
I can confirm that:
The character journal entry name in Roll20 matches their character name exactly in DDB
The character sheet name in Roll20 matches their character name exactly in DDB
Each PC has their own token in their Roll20 journal and they are given control of their token
Curious if there is anything they should check beyond what is mentioned in the FAQ link above. Thanks!!
That's really weird though because it shouldn't actually affect or care about the tokens. What it looks for is the character sheets and it updates the sheet itself, so as long as the character name matches and the sheet has an hp/temp_hp value set, then it will work. Make sure their tokens have the "Represents Character" value set appropriately, but other than that, I don't see how it wouldn't work. More specifically, I don't understand how them having tokens selected or not is going to have any effect on the behavior.
If they press F12 in chrome to open the developer console and clear it, then maybe when changing the HP, they can see what's happening (whether Beyond20 sends the message, whether Roll20 receives it and whether it finds the character)

No worries, thanks for taking the time to respond. I didn't think to check the console messages to confirm events were being sent/received, I'll try to test that with my players and see what comes through.
Thank you so much for all your hard work on this. The past 2 weeks have been my first ventures into gaming via Roll20 and your plugin has made it much easier to deal with stuff during this crazy time.
I run a teen center for high school students and I think this is going to make it much easier to get our D&D group working during our closure.
I just got back into D&D. I am trying to get Beyond20 to work with my DNDbeyond sheets in roll20. It keeps telling me that "No VTT matches your settings""Open a VTT window and check to see the settings don't restrict access to a specific campaign. Any tips or ideas on this?
I have looked through the FaQ, but couldn't seem to find anything about this issue.
I am playing an Artificer in a campaign, but when trying to use the artilerist's Eldritch Canon, I only seem to be able to use the Flamethrower option in the plugin?
Figured it out! The extension didn't have incognito tabs working, now I am good. What a great program, my players are raving about it! Now I just gotta see if I can get the monsters to roll damage as well as hits. I saw a button somewhere...
As I said last night, I'm loving this extension.
But, I have some questions for Roll20:
1. Tokens? How do I assign players/monsters to tokens?
2. Targeting? How do players/monsters target players/monsters?
Apologies if this has been asked before.
Edit: if I change the name of a character/monster to match the Beyond sheet, would that do it? (Per the video on the site)

@TheProfessor:
1 - To sync Hp between the DNDB sheet and Roll20 follow these instructions https://beyond20.here-for-more.info/faq#my-hp-from-dd-beyond-doesnt-synchronize-to-my-tokens

With Foundry VTT, there is a targeting system in place which allows your players to select which monsters they want to target for their attacks.
I feel like I need an entire guide to make this work. It rolls the dice, but doesn't output anything in chat or blank lines. Using Roll20.
@Raikao: I don't think it's fair to say you need an entire guide to make it work.
For your problem, see this FAQ item : https://beyond20.here-for-more.info/faq#all-i-see-in-roll20-is-an-empty-message

Thank you so much for the thoughtful response, much appreciated.
Just wanted to bring this to your attention:
https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/d-d-beyond-general/general-discussion/61408-beyond-20-chrome-plug-in-for-d-d-beyond-trojan
I'm getting the same Trojan message too, what's going on?

I've reported it to MalwareBytes and waiting to get an answer : https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/257976-beyond20-reported-as-false-positive/
KaKaRoToDM Dude, your extension is awesome!!
I just wanna say thank you, awesome tool!
I have an issue if you go to My campaigns my player can not enable hexblades curse iam currently sharing content with him
Thanks @gspontin :)

@KaKaRoToDM
Quick question on the HP syncing for player tokens. I read your FAQ on syncing HP for PCs (https://www.dndbeyond.com/linkout?remoteUrl=https%253a%252f%252fbeyond20.here-for-more.info%252ffaq%2523my-hp-from-dd-beyond-doesnt-synchronize-to-my-tokens) and I'm able to easily sync my player's tokens HP back and forth between Roll20 and D&DBeyond as the DM in my game. It works when I update their token HP or their HP in D&DBeyond.
However, many of my PCs tried doing the same this week and were only able to sync their token HP if they had their token actively selected in Roll20 when making HP value changes in Roll20 or D&DBeyond.
