l am makeing a sorcerer and part of their backstory has them accdentaly useing magic and being shund (though they are a dragonborn so it might have been shund b4 finding out) but i digress. is there a cannonical age where most sorcerer children find out they have magic?
Nope. You're born with it and it can manifest at any time.
So it can be when born, any time in childhood, or not surface until late in life (yay for easy 'spaining of multiclassing).

thanks for the feedback, but l have it set to be they found out around 6-10 Y/O (they are a dragonborn so that would be roughly 11-15 in human years i think)
Bear in mind that not all sorcerers get their powers from their bloodlines. Some get them from experiments gone wrong (or right), a pact with a dragon or angel (similar to a warlock pact), getting lost in the feywild and returning with strange new abilities, exposure to powerful magic phenomenon out in the world, etc.
The thing I like about the sorcerer is that when deciding on your sorcerous origin you essentially get to treat it like a superhero origin story.

this one is a draco bloodline dragonborn, they get their power from the draconic blood in their veins. (which might have been from a polimorphed dragon, only the dm would know that for sure)
What I had done for my draconic bloodline dragonborn, who was an archaeologist, was that he didn't discover his power until he found a certain artifact which "unlocked" it. So you can have it as showing up as a certain age, or have some sort of catalyst that helps them discover it, be it an event, or an item, etc. Just an idea. But of course, do whatever you feel is best for the character.

Still the term "bloodline" can be applied ambiguously. Maybe you cloned tissue from a powerful dragon and infused its essence into your blood to gain some of its power, or maybe a dragon bestowed some of its life force into you after finding you dying in the woods, saving your life but also giving you the power of its ancient bloodline.
You can go in whatever creative direction you want with it. That isn't to say that it can't be ancestral, or that ancestral power is bad, I just like to point out that sorcerers have more control over their "origin story" than is commonly thought.

cool ideas,l will 100% use them for future sorcerers, but this one is decended from dragons, like maybe has a parrent thats a dragon,so,thanks for the possable power backstorys, but he has one that fits him just fine.
It's just a background detail so do it whenever you want, it's your backstory :) Honestly how Sorcerers get their magic is just favor to make them different then Wizards. Sorcerers are mutants while Wizards are scholars.

I think draconic sorcery is pretty common for dragonborn actually.

If you want to randomize it, basically roll 2 D10s. One for the decade, and 1 for the individual year in that decade.
