As far as I understood from the announcement about the prices and date of release for DnD Beyond, I am excited for what is coming. However I would like to share some doubts with you; I guess they are pretty simple to be answered.
I ask because when I bought the standard subscription from Fantasy Grounds (through STEAM) I got some libraries including the DM and Players basic rules, some library for monsters, NPC, etc which is pretty good for the starts.
I can create characters using Fantasy Grounds without any problem and all content for that is available for me as if I had the PHB available there, because that came with my subscription (I bought the Standard subscription one-time-pricing in which I paid CAD$33.00 through STEAM)
Nowadays we have almost everything like that for free in DnD Beyond with some exceptions for instance, if you want to create a War Cleric, that domain is not available (but it will be when the paid version is released).
My points are:
Do we need to buy also the digital PHB or DM guide, Monster Manual, etc., to be able to create our characters and to access any information we need (and that is for free now)? Because if so, I can imagine if I pay Hero Tier and I need to buy those materials I will spend, only to play, $3.00/monthly + $20.00 (PHB) one-time pricing. If I want to buy Master Tier, I will spend $6.00/monthly + 4X$30.00(one time pricing DM Guide, Volo's, Monster and PHB) if as a DM I wish to have my "library" complete + $25.00 for any campaign (like Curse of Strahd), if I decide to start one. So, my initial investment as a DM (a decent one with all resources) would be $6.00 + $120.00 + $25.00 = $151.00. If I have a group of 4 friends using Hero Tier, each of them will pay $3.00/monthly + $30.00 (PHB one-time price) only, because the other contents I, as a DM will be able to release to them for free during my campaign, is that correct?
So, the initial cost for playing a digital campaign in DnD Beyond for a group of friends (a party) with 1 DM + 4 players would be around $151.00 + 4 X $33.00 = $283.00. Is that correct?
What it does mean, in the Master Tier subscription, when you say Full Group ( ..... $5.99/ month is intended primarily for Dungeon Masters and full groups.) Could you explain me how a group can use a Master subscription? I do believe that we can have a lot of fun and resources when DnD Beyond releases everything and I intend to play and find "friends" around the world to share adventures, but I also would like to understand how much that is going to cost me.

1. You can purchase those three books during the first week for 20 dollars US, 30 dollars US after that, however if you feel inclined to, much of that information you will be able to enter manually.
2. At hero tier as a player you can spend the 3 dollars a months and 20 dollars for the PHB if you want to, or if you have a kind DM that has subscribed to the Master tier, use his "books".
3. If you subscribe to the Master tier and take advantage of the early sale then start up would 6 dollars for the sub, 90 dollars for the 4 books you mentioned, DMG, MM, PHB, and Volo's, plus the 25 dollars for the adventure. Making the total cost to start for your group 121 not 151.
4. If you have the Master tier, the only reason your players need the Hero tier is so that they can create unlimited number of characters. All the "books" you have purchased may be shared with up to 12 free character slots. If you don't want to use those character slots then the players can sub to the hero level, but need not purchase the PHB, as they will be able to use yours on the Master sub. This includes any other "books" you may have purchased.
Thanks for your reply. I was guessing something like that. But the 12 free slots, in the master tier, are also interesting. Let's hope that WotC can make some really good deals and promotions on the adventures and modules like other sites (STEAM) do. That would be great.
I have a couple scenarios. Can you tell me how they'd work with this pricing model?
I run a comic book shop and host D&D games for 20-30 regular customers. I buy the Legendary Bundle and a Master subscription. Can I then share my books with all my customers?
Will they be able to use these books with the free ($0/month) tier, or will they all need to have Hero tier subscriptions at a minimum?
If I stop subscribing, will I still be able to access the books in the Legendary bundle using the free tier?
Thanks in advance.

12 of them will be able to have free accounts, the rest will need to subscribe. This is because a Master Tier subscription only lets you share content with 12 people, not counting people with paid subscriptions.

Yes.

Cool, thx. I'll bring this up to the people running the store. They ask for donations from players to cover costs. This seems like a real value-add for donors that already have a Hero tier.
