Welcome to the ever-present "halflings-used-to-be-hobbits-but-the-Tolkein-estate-said-no" problem. Balor were originally Balrogs but the same thing happened.
and the Lovecraft estate said no to Cthulhu being name dropped from 1e as far as I remember, which is why we have the general copyright free Great Old Ones now, who totally are not Nyarlotep, Yogg-Sarroth or Cthulhu (who may be the Lurker from that Warlock UA)

Trying to get your physical content on Beyond is like going to Microsoft and saying "I have a physical Playstation disk, give me a digital Xbox version!"
On the original topic let me recommend The One Ring RPG as an alternative for Tolkien fans (great game!), or Adventures in Middle-Earth if you want to stick to the D&D rules.
Is there a Balrog in the content
I believe the in-game equivalent of a Tolkien "Balrog" is a Balor.

Not by that name, but I'm sure you can use some fiend the same way. The pit fiend might work.
[Edit]Or balor. Balor is good.
Yup, depends on whether you want to classify it as a demon or a devil.

You can still call them "Balrogs" and "Hobbits" at your own table if you want.
Shh, don't tell anyone.

So how about a corresponding worm to those from Dune. My party will be crossing a desert soon
Maybe a purple worm?

I'm pretty sure a purple worm is nothing like a Balrog :P

Nope, but somebody asked for a worm from Dune ;-)
Yeah, I'd say purple worm, wurm from GGtR (basically purple worm that swaps poison for earthquakes), or remorhaz as an arctic variant.
My bad, shouldn't jump to latest without reading the intervening posts.
