So I'm thinking about buying about 6 tablets to give my players while we're playing. I'm going to start transitioning into requiring DND Beyond at my tables but to make it easier I want to provide them a decent tablet/screen to use it with since the mobile version is kind of poop. I was looking at refurbished Amazon Fire 7's ($39.99 each) or even the older model Fire 6's ($19.99ish each).
My question is that I'm sure the Fire 7 should run DND Beyond fine, does anyone know how well the 6 would work for it? I was going to try and find a place locally that might have a fire 7 on display so I can try it out in person.
It'll be just for the online character sheet so using chrome or whatever browser it has should be fine. As for screen size and price the 8" is getting pretty far out of what I want to spend when I have to buy 6 of them lol. It's about $420 versus $240 (heh) for the extra inch of display. Not sure if double the price is worth it (and this is pricing refurbished models on amazon).
My other option is to hit up the local area nad see if I can find something but having all the same model would be pretty nice because I like aesthetics lol
I've thought about and visited this issue a few times myself. One of my players ended up getting his own tablet and watching him use it usually puts advantage over the rest of the table. So, I'm hoping everyone else just invests in their own eventually as having looked at available options....it's quite expensive. And, I'm in the same boat with six regular players.

The Fire 7's lower resolution screen is painfully noticable. I'd go with the 8" when it goes on sale.
I've heard others mention if you use a Fire HD you'll need to load the google play store to use the DDB app.
