Hey, just wanting some info on beast man races. I'm fairly new to Dnd and have been wanting to make a beast man character for a while but I don't have any clue as to what the stats and race abilities they have. I'm also wanting to use the beast man race as an enemy in a campaign I plan to make with a friend later downbrhe track when I'm more experienced. Would love any info that can be shared, cheers.
There isn't one called "Beastman" specifically. However, several races have bestial traits. Each one is can be purchased separately, or as part of books/bundles. The ones that are specifically animal related:
Dragonborn (dragon people) (Player's handbook)
Lizardfolk (Lizard people) (Volo's)
Aarakocra (bird - hawk people) ( Elemental Evil)
Kenku (bird - raven people) (Volo's)
Kobold (small lizard folk) (Volo's)
Tabaxi (cat people) (volo's)
Yuan-Ti (Snake people) (Volo's)
Tortle (Turtle people) The Tortle Package
Shifter (four different types related to were creatures) (Ebberon: Rising of the last war)
Loxodon (Elephant people) (Ravnica)
Minotaur (bull/cow people) (Ravnica)
Centaur (horse people) (Ravnica)
Locathah (fish people) (Locathah Rising)
Grung (Frog People) (One grung above)
Their stats and features are quite literally all over the place, so I'm not sure how to best generalize.
I know this is n old post, but for my Beast-man is just take the bugbear. And give it Either 2 hand axes or a Great axe, and swap language: goblin for Abysal.
I'm just starting off in the DnD World and I was wondering is there a Ape Race or Type of Hybrid? I’ve always loved them and think that would be an awesome character to create. Thanks for any info!🙌🏽🙌🏽
If you're not willing or able to to discuss in good faith, then don't be surprised if I don't respond, there are better things in life for me to do than humour you. This signature is that response.
Ok I'm just now seeing that group. Appreciate your insight✊🏽 Yeah I'm looking for more of an Ape Race type build. I was thinking I might have to do the SImic Hybrid or try to create one myself. If I was to build a homebrew Ape character how would you go about that?
You'll first want to start with the concept's theme. What sort of class will it be? What type of environment is it from? Knowing these answers and more will be able to narrow down which beast race is ideal for what you are going for. And there is a lot to choose from too.

Don't forget about Gnolls. Plenty out there to make it a viable option as well.

There are Green Apes from Tellene (kingdoms of Kalimar Campaign setting) a race of intelligent apes. There are also the awakened template for a standard ape.

If we’re talking homebrew then there’s stats for pretty much anything, but within the core material there’s no PC option for gnolls.

I know this post is a few years old now but would anyone know what race might fit best to making Lappland as a character from arknights? I wanna assume tabaxi or shifter but I don't have any experince in either for how their playstyle is

Now I remember the ibixian or goatfolx from MM3 (3.5).
The Satyr and Minotaur races would be a good place to start. Both are in MotM.

There's the Hadozee from Spelljammer, but that's more monkey than ape.

Give it +2 DEX, +1 CON
Maybe give it a climb speed
and a free tool proficiency
If you want, give it a Bite attack (piercing damage, obviously)
Speed would be 30 feet
Size would be either Small or Medium
