Was just reading through bard and thought "Ooooh charisma. Must be pact time". What subclasses could work for this? I was thinking lore bard that made some pact in search for knowledge. Idk what patron though.
I’m playing a Pact of the Archfey Warlock right now who took the Entertainer Background me at 4th Level he’s taking Magic Initiate (Bard) for flavor. I’m playing a Warlock as a wandering minstrel and he’s as close to being a bard as you can get without actually taking a level in the Bard class.
The Bard / Warlock multiclass works wonderfully on many levels.
Warlocks provides a substantial combat option in the form of Eldritch Blast...something Bards lack. The various Eldritch Invocations a Warlock gets as early as Level 2 allows a multitude of "tricks" to create the character you wish to play
Bards, conversely, provide both a hefty amount of skills (for social or exploration), as well as "Expertise" (to be the best at what they do).
Bards also support the party; their bonus action can he used to inspire the team to perform better...combined with a Warlock's Eldritch Blast (or most spells), and you have a character who can do a lot on their turn.
Plus...bards are known for being talkers. It makes sense that a character who can interact so well with others would he uniquely capable of talking to devils, Fey, celestials or whteve otherworldly patron a Warlock makes their pact with.
as always, 2 level dip into hexblade. Bard x swords or valor would work the best as you would get extra attack without an invocation,
But thats the min maxy way to do things. Just play whatever you think is fun.
Is it really that min/maxy? I wanted to make a gish bard, so I went College of Swords, but by the time I hit 4th level I realized that bards are still full casters and even going Swords or Valor still only makes you a half martial, so I did a little bit of theorycrafting and took one level in Hexblade and then started to take levels in rogue, going Swashbuckler. Now I'm Swords 4/Hexblade 1/Swashbuckler 4 and I'm really enjoying it. I have about as much magic as I want and I really upped my martial game by wielding my rapier with Charisma, adding Charisma to my initiative rolls, and combining sneak attack with Booming Blade.
This week, I have created a Tiefling Bard and a Half-Elf Warlock. I was originally going to use the Bard in a campaign that I'm playing with some new players, but I liked the concept so much that I decided to make a Warlock.

I see. I may do this for one of my next characters then

Canto alla vita
alla sua bellezza
ad ogni sua ferita
ogni sua carezza!
I sing to life and to its tragic beauty
To pain and to strife, but all that dances through me
The rise and the fall, I've lived through it all!

Hello! I am just a relatively new D&D player, who also likes SimplePlanes and War Thunder.
