I think D&D should have more angels to pick from since currently there are only 3 choices. There are plenty of devils and demons but very little "celestial" variety.
I would also like some more lower CR celestials. Conjure Celestial is basically only used for summoning Couatls. If there was more variety in celestials, that spell would have more options.

They can summon Hollyphants if you cast it with a level 9 spell slot, or one of the angels from Ravnica.

Please check out my homebrew, I would appreciate feedback:
The main reason there aren't a lot of celestials as monsters is that monster manuals tend to focus on bad guys for the PCs to beat up. There are only 43 'good' (alignment LG, NG, CG, Any Good) creatures in the monster manual, 20 of which are different sizes of metallic dragons. There are 224 'evil' (LE, NE, CE, Any Evil) creatures.

But you can't populate a world appropriately with that, not to mention it's fairly easy to conceptualize a storyline with a being of pure good "taking it too far" and the party being the only thing to stop them.

That's one of the places 5E has failed on, despite reimagining angels as being sterner and less willing to compromise on their principles and having far less understanding of mortals than they did in previous editions.

Find your own truth, choose your enemies carefully, and never deal with a dragon.
"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.

It's plenty to populate a dungeon. Worldbuilding is not really the focus of 5e (or, really, any version of D&D).
Is this not because there are only a few celestials compared to devils ad demons, and of those, not very many of low CR enough to be fightable monsters or familiars?

In 2nd and 3rd edition there were, it's just that Wizards hasn't chose to port most of those over.

At the normal spell slot casting, you can also get a Winged Bull or a Winged Lion. They are pretty cool, especially if you get to ride them!

That does sound pretty cool. Guardinals (neutral good celestials with animal forms) could also work too if you wanted to adapt them from an earlier edition.

My Improved Lineage System
There are 7 Celestial in the Monster Manual, plus another 13 in various other official sources.
CR ranges from 2 (Pegasus) to 23 (Empyrean)
They can summon Hollyphants if you cast it with a level 9 spell slot, or one of the angels from Ravnica.
Please check out my homebrew, I would appreciate feedback:
Spells, Monsters, Subclasses, Races, Arcknight Class, Occultist Class, World, Enigmatic Esoterica forms
what are the other celestial mosters in other sources?
The "Celestials" I am aware of from "other sources" are:
Angels - Arch Angels - Princes (Principalities) - Powers - Virtues - Dominions - Thrones - Cherubim - Seraphim (in ascending order of power)
Good luck.
Cum catapultae proscriptae erunt tum soli proscript catapultas habebunt
yes...but in d&d....
I've got a few on my homebrew page under "guardinals". Check my signature. Guardinals are anthropomorphic animal celestials.

Hollyphants from BG:DiA, the 3 angels from GGR, there are a few Archons from GGR and MOoT as well as flying animals, and there's a couple others.

Guardinals are cool. My old DM used them.
