Evening gents! Found myself looking at the different class ideas and weapons, couldn't find anything on a "Dragonslayer" build, so I thought I'd create a board where we could discuss what builds people run when they're hunting dragons. Not looking for help on anything, just wanted to make a thread where people could post their preferred dragonslayer builds and get feedback.
Feel free to post whatever combination you want; class, race, weapon preference, etc., as long as it's good for hunting dragons, it's alright here.
It might be the obvious answer, but the Ranger Monster Slayer would be my go to when building a character dedicated to killing dragons. Get them a dragon slayer and outfit them with Dragonguard. Maybe get them to 7th or 8th level as a Ranger and then look into Fighter to get some hard core archery options, since most dragons are going to stay airborn as long as possible.
And being a dragonborn does mean at least one type of breath weapon would only hit you for half damage!
I'll keep the Ranger Monster Slayer in mind, OboeLauren; thanks. One thing I should mention: you seem to be missing a suggestion; it says I should "outfit them with [Tooltip Not Found]" on my end, at least; what did you mean to say?
Also, I heard someone suggest a Draconic Bloodline Sorcerer would be an solid dragonslayer choice; can anyone confirm that?

You could try to homebrew some kind of “lance”?
