And both Todd and James, in the most recent DDB video, admit it. The drake companion can be commanded as bonus actions, it can act independently of the player, and it's both stronger and more versatile than any of the PHB beasts. So with two game devs admitting that the Drakewarden just about replaces the Beastmaster, when are you guys going to print official errata for the Beastmaster ranger?
This should probably go to the UA board, but it has been leaked that in Tasha's they will update the BM. There will be a set of generic (Land, Air, Sea), stronger beast companions, assuming that they don't change this in the next two weeks. This seems to be a hint at a new Dragonlance setting book.

That's somewhat annoying, since I've found Dragonlance pretty boring and generic. I was hoping that they'd get around to making a Spelljammer setting book.

I imagine there was going to be a Dragonlance book, but with the current lawsuits against the authors who were going to pen the Dragonlance series for them? I doubt it.
On topic, I’m not a fan of it. I’m not saying it isn’t good, because it is. I’m just not a fan of it. It’s not a true companion per say as it is just summons out of thin air, and it can be summoned again with just a first level spell slot.
Super on topic, it’s not D&D Beyond who choses errata, its Wizards. If Wizards decides to Errata the Ranger further beyond what Tashas does, then D&D Beyond will of course adhere to it. D&D Beyond doesn’t take any creative liberties with any class, and only follows what Wizards publishes, errors and all.

"The Epic Level Handbook wasn't that bad, guys.
Guys, pls."

Nothing is confirmed. It's just speculation.
To be fair, there wasn't much point in playing a Beastmaster before the Drakewarden was released.
Find your own truth, choose your enemies carefully, and never deal with a dragon.
"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.
