So i've been thinking about how i could implement the idea of a Lich that is sane and sells a service;
In exchange for a few souls the lich will clone the client.
I've considered having the lich be able to cast wish, to bypass the materials, but only using it for business.
I'd like any advise or ideas that can offered as i love the idea of an evil being that is both sane, and full prepared to conduct business without being a back-stabbing dick,
There is no reason why a Lich can't be sane. Evil, of course. Brilliant, naturally. The Wizard made a conscious choice to become a Lich, and easily could have been sane at the time. No reason why that sanity could not remain intact.
Reminds me of an idea for a campaign that takes the Forgotten Realms; but in modern day.
Magic has gradually shifted into “technology”; and many of the organizations have become mega-corporations...most of them run by liches.
The Zhentarim have become a private military corporation, and Manshoon is still running things.
Waterdeep has essentially become a New York City equivalent; Durnan is celebrating the centuries-old anniversary of the Yawning Portal (and secretly running a resistance against the mega-corps)
”Magic Missile” is widely available as an arcane firearm.
People can communicate easily with portable “Sending” devices, called ScryPhones.
If you want exotic “sinister” items...you get them on the Vecnet...Vecna has become this world’s equivalent of the dark web.
Devils & liches obviously form a huge chunk of these corporations which provide such services...Wizards & warlocks are their interns & hackers, respectively.
Adventurers are publicly frowned upon; considered to be vigilantes and troublemakers that operate outside the law...bikers, bounty hunters, mercenaries and trespassers.
Truth is; they are kind of folk heroes who haven’t sold out to the tyrannical corporations...even the law enforcement entities (Paladins with their SMITE teams) are controlled by the lich’s shadow governments.

The first thing that came into my mind, when I read Lich Businesman was mr. Burns form the Simpsons....
Yea, but only one has a soul.

Huh, i guess that Mr. Burns might have more souls than Rich, the lich that's a cloning son of a *****.

Acererak is actually quite the businessman himself...he handles a lot of the phylacteries of the Red Wizards of Thay, among other services.
I believe he might be affiliated with Jarlaxle, but don’t quote me on that.
