I'm considering purchasing an adventure or two on DnDBeyond, but what's the difference between the compendium and the full book? The compendium says that some things aren't available, like searchable listing, character building, or digital sheet - but what does that mean exactly?
For instance, I have the physical copy of Storm King's Thunder. I can see items, monsters, and characters that are locked because I haven't purchased the digital copy, but what happens if I just purchase the compendium version? Since there aren't any "character building options" in SKT, what do I lose? What even is a digital sheet? If I purchase an adventure, does that mean I can find monsters/items/etc by searching rather than having to sort through all dragons to find the one I'm looking for?
Compendium - Only the compendium content aka the full book in DDB format.
Full - Compendium content as well as monsters, items, backgrounds, feats, etc populated into the DDB tools, which at this time is the character builder and the equipment, background, feat, etc listings.
Ok, let me just be super explicit so I make sure we're on the same page :D
So, if I buy the Storm King's Thunder compendium I can access the entire book in the "Adventures" section in the Compendium tab. This includes every spell, monster, item, etc.
However, if I've only bought the compendium, and I navigate to the Monster page, Augrek Brighthelm (for instance) will remain locked - I can't view this character's specific page, even though I can navigate to it in the Storm King's Thunder Adventure compendium.

Do I understand it correctly?
Exactly. It's more for the e-reader/app user than for the person that finds value in the DDB tools that are/will be released.
