That's a fair point, though it is definitely not the answer to why you can't create homebrew classes on D&D Beyond. The actual reasons for that have been pretty well explored in the last eleven pages of this thread over the course of the past five years.

They cover a lot, but only within a specific design space. There's a potential to push that space outward, or just go off into the untracked wilderness and plant a flag there.
Of course, the further off the standard D&D paradigms one gets, the less likely it is that any class-building tools will suffice. Even if we get homebrew classes, which I still wouldn't bet on, the odds are against them giving us the kind of tools where we could really go wild. (Would I like it if we got highly-composable primitive operations that we could build into arbitrary abilities? Sure, but I do not expect it. Even if they have such things under the hood, unrestricted use is a path to so many technical issues.)
