Admittedly, a Ravenloft/Barovia book isn't exactly my cup of tea. While I like Gothic themes, I'd much rather have more books focusing on other realms like the Feywilds or other planes. That or more monster books.
Still, there could be some interesting things that I could see myself liking such as potential new subclasses, items, races/lineages, campaign specific monsters and maybe even neat mechanics that are introduced within this book like how Theros introduced the piety system.

"Meddle not in the affairs of dragons, for thou art crunchy and taste good with ketchup."
I will definitely check it out and cannibalize it for anything I my use in my own campaign world. I could always use more monsters and magic items and I as well as the players tend to get excited by new character options.
I'm still hoping it's broader than that, like a "Domains of Dread" (that could potentially include Innistrad?) or "Shadowfell" (Barovia and Ravenloft and the Domains are Shadowfell-adjacent) book. Ravenloft seems a bit narrow for an entire setting book. But knowing me, I'll be wrong and disappointed.

In previous editions of D&D, the Ravenloft campaign setting didn't just include Barovia, but other Domains of Dread as well. This included Kas, Vecna, Azalin, and other famous undead/shadowy characters.
Edit: How could I forget Lord Soth?!?! He's one of my favorite characters from Dragonlance, and I forgot he was in the Domains of Dread. I would love that!

Can you imagine a Lord Soth 5e stat block! Oh boy oh boy oh boy! One of the lesser known Domains of Dread, but Im also hoping The Endless Road gets a look in, with Eli, The Headless Horseman, The Caretaker and the undead army under the Stone Orchard. SQUEEEEEEE

For me, the issue with the Ouija board for Ravenloft is, it's not period.
Thematically and artistically, Ravenloft seems to borrow a lot from Dracula (written in 1897, when the Ouija board was very popular)
Planchette writing boards were in use in the east almost a thousand years before that
It's fantasy. (I mean: technically those other worlds wouldn't even be using english fonts, but everything is still presented to the players in english for convenience)
It's also possible that clue was occurring in our world (or one similar) rather than a standard D&D world.
WotC dropping hints at a new Ravenloft book on social media.

She/Her Player and Dungeon Master
I am super excited about this.
And given the Unearthed Arcana stuff that recently made its way, I thought something might be coming soon.
Woot woot!
I bet this is in connection to the new Book that will be announced tomorrow for May.
Dungeons & Dragons May Title (Announced February 23) Hardcover – May 18, 2021
"Meddle not in the affairs of dragons, for thou art crunchy and taste good with ketchup."
Characters for Tenebris Sine Fine
RoughCoronet's Greater Wills
That makes a lot of sense really.
She/Her Player and Dungeon Master
I'm assuming this is going to be Ravenloft. Beckoning mists in D&D don't have any connection to anything else as far as I'm aware.
Please check out my homebrew, I would appreciate feedback:
Spells, Monsters, Subclasses, Races, Arcknight Class, Occultist Class, World, Enigmatic Esoterica forms
Definitely. We have suspected it for a long while, now we just have a guess as to how soon.
She/Her Player and Dungeon Master
Considering that the UA was barely given any time to be tested before they released the survey, I hope that they got plenty of feedback.

Getting a Ravenloft book would decrease the chances of an Innistrad book, which narrows the pool of potential future MTG book settings (Amonkhet plz).

Was wondering if this is a new version of Diablo for d&d since they got critical role to run a game of that during Blizzcon 2021 this weekend?
the mist beckons... yes that does make more sense to be Ravenloft or Barovia.
Well its going to be announced tomorrow...
So far Curse of Strahd is the only official module I've run as a DM. So hearing this, I'm pretty excited

I believe that it is far more likely to be Domains of Dread than just Barovia, at least that is what I am hoping for.
