Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online/ Voice in-game, Text between games. Experience: New DM Timezone: US CST Schedule: Open for the Evening Wednesday, Friday, Certain Saturdays and Sundays. After 5pm US Cst. Roles sought: ~4 Players. Ideally seeking Players who were DMs, especially Forever DMs or very experienced Players to fill in any gaps on my abilities. Game style: Uncertain. This is my first full game but most of my solo games were very player driven. Whatever kind of encounters that would occur is entirely based on what the players want and seek after.
I am not doing this without preparation or understanding of what I am doing. I have reviewed a multitude of resources for proper DMing. That being said, I do want to have experienced people so that they can speak up and help redirect me on certain issues.
100% by the Book Lore. Until the first choice is made, everything is explicitly lore. Nothing will be permitted to violate that in players or backstories without an extremely good reason. And I have all intention of utilizing every possible aspect of player backstories and attributes in roleplay. What you say and what you don't say will come into play at some point. I fully expect my players to have a firm grasp of the attributes of their race, their class, their background and how they all interplay. I know almost all of it, I will be able to point out when you are trying to play a character that is way off base and I expect a really good reason for it. But I doubt I will need to, because Faerun is just a grand place with unlimited potential.
Once I find four or so complimentary players, I will send invites.
(Edit because I don't know how to properly link to Roll20, here's the advert from there:)
**Year 1495 in Faerun.**
Almost 100 years since the Time of Troubles in a period that historians believe will be known as the Time of Peace. In spite of Balder's Gate being pulled into Avernus and political troubles across Sword Coast, the land is far more stable since the Second Spellplague.
Crops are grown, taxes are collected, meals are served and families are grown. For both commoner and lord, human and even half-orc, this is a time of ease.
But machinations go on still beyond the eyes of many. Madmen with prospects for greatness, cults sacrificing for dark gods, the sin of mortals still plague the land as much as any twisted and ill formed monstrosity. Even from behind the Crystal Sphere, alien and foreign travelers come with both boon and curse in their hearts.
Heroes are still called upon even now. Whether by Gods, Kings, Lords, the common peasant or just the will in their own hearts. Those who will have statues erected and crowns placed upon their heads while others rot in dark caves or disappear into the clutches of evil.
But perhaps nether is your journey? To a village, the men and women who keep out raiding goblins are as much a hero as those who bring in the head of a rampaging dragon to a cheering city.
Your journey is all your own. You need only take your first step...
**About Me: The DM**
This will be the first time I have done a full D&D game. I have played in many games and DMs many solo games.
But I do not come into this ill prepared.
I have acquired every pit of advice and direction given by every public DM figure online. My Discord has a wide selection of Homerules and I have every book on both Roll20 and DnDBeyond. I am not ill prepared in those fronts, at the very least.
I understand any hesitation. However, I fully believe that I can do this successfully after we go through a detailed Session Zero. This isn't an armature jumping into the deep end ill prepared.
I love Faerun. I know a lot of people have grown tired of it but that's because they are just shown a generic fantasy land and not Faerun! There's so much about it to explore and interact with and the more that I learn from various sources, the more I want to present Faerun as it really exists to players.
This does mean the game will have what might be considered extreme or triggering content. Racism, sexual content including abusive and forceful, slavery. If any of these bother people, we can agree as a group to not include it (though the alternate will have to be equivalent) or we can just fade to black. But that is something we can discuss as a group.
One of the big things I want to bring in is Tasha's Group Patrons which the players will pick at the start of the game. I intend to start at level 3 with the players working out what their level 1-3 backstories are that help bond their characters all together. I'd rather want to avoid having people roleplay around a group of strangers finding a reason to work together. The best part of Avengers was them working together, not them working against each other. Lets skip to that part and avoid having to drag out to it through unscripted means.
I am open to homebrew but I am also skeptical of them as well. Expect a thorough examination and a lot of questions.
The game time will be determined by you players, but I am leaning on either Wednesday, Friday, Sunday and certain Saturday Evenings.
**How do you join?**
Head to the Game Discussion and leave a bit of introduction about yourself. Tell me about your favorite part of Faerun, what times you can play, and what kind of game you are looking to play. When I see four or more complimentary people, I will send invites.
Hi there!! My girlfriend and I have been looking for a group for awhile! I've got tons of experience with dnd 5e (6 years forever as a dm). I also have some resources for other players in the group if they need. I own the hero edition that allows others to create characters with content I own.
If this suits you message me on discord at Zamen #0792

Hey Mark it appears that your thread in roll20 isn't setup to allow comments. You can see the campaign description page, but viewing the "Applications go here" forum page doesn't seem to lead anywhere. You can see your initial comment, but there isn't a means to reply. If you are wanting to get player applications there, you might want to make sure its enabled correctly.
Sent you a friend invite on Discord in the meantime. @ Dane#4612
