We are a group of five (4 players and a DM) looking for two more players to join our group. Two of our players are only able to play intermittently, so we are looking for an additional 2 players to build a consistent core of four to bring our group to a total of 6 players. We play weekly on Saturdays, preferably at 12:00pm EST/EDT (GMT-5/GMT-4) for at least 3 to 3.5 hours each session. We are willing to move the meeting time during the day depending on everyone’s availability, but Saturday is the set day of the week to meet.
How we play
We use D&D Beyond (obviously), along with Roll 20 as a VTT and Discord for communication. We play seriously, but also know how to laugh and have fun.
How our campaign is run
We play primarily in official D&D settings, mainly focused around Faerûn and the Swordcoast (centered on Waterdeep) but travel to other worlds/settings like Eberron, Ravnica, Wildemount, etc. Our DM primarily runs published adventures, but with a lot of added homebrew content and sometimes adapts published content into homebrew content. Also, the lore of the world is adhered to as much as possible (example Changelings and Kalashtar come from Eberron and back stories take this into account).
We also play in a persistent, shared world. Our DM runs two D&D groups, and both groups operate in the same world and sometimes have cross-over sessions where we play together (we are currently doing a crossover in Candlekeep, and we finished one where we all went to Eberron, which was co-written and co-DM’d by one of our players). The actions of one group and their impact on the world can affect the other, in both directions. We have even established our own guild organization in the world that both groups run and participate in. We pay strict attention to dates and times, as a result.
Lastly, our DM plays a full character in both groups he runs, which are unanimously accepted by the group, and are full-fledged, key members of the team.
Our Current Parties
Our level 7 party consists of a female Half-Drow Rogue, male Human Sorcerer, a female Human Fighter, a female Tabaxi Cleric, and a male Goliath Paladin (Our paladin & cleric are the two players that are only able to play intermittently).
What we are looking for in new players
Someone who really enjoys roleplay and social interaction (to the point that a session that consists of mostly RP can be completely enjoyable).
Likes developing back stories for their characters (doesn’t have to be complex) and have those back stories integrated into the campaign.
Prefer creating interesting characters with interesting personalities, character themes and flaws, rather than focusing on min-maxing.
You must be at least 20 years old (so we can have serious, mature discussions)
Wants to play as a member of a team, and is not focused on their own glory.
Interested in playing and having fun with an open, accepting group, without focus on politics or agendas.
Consistent attendance is highly preferable.
How we will decide
We are looking for players who we feel like fits the most within our group. This means we are not going first come first serve and any replies that don't address the questions below will not be considered.
When you reply, please provide answers to these questions:
Given the above, what is it about joining our group that interests you?
What do you personally bring to the (virtual) table?
What class would you be considering playing?
Are you a Lady or a Gentleman?
Bonus question: what are your thoughts on Critical Role?
We will talk with any selected candidates and, if you should be chosen, you will be on trial for the first few sessions. This applies both ways, so if things don’t work out, no harm no foul! All that is important is that everyone gets along and enjoys their time!
-I am looking for a group where we can all tell our character's story and progress the mainstory. I am interested in playing in core settings, since its been quite a while since I have at all (last time was in eberron back in 3.5, about 10 years ago). So I think that says what interests me about this group. Also, I am perfectly fine and enjoy if a full session is rp, but hopefully it wont be 3 or 4 sessions in a row.
-I honestly don't know what I bring to the table, since I don't know the group yet, but I consider that depending on my character, I bring either some strategy or some whimsy (sometimes both). I will say that while I do a bit of minmaxing with my characters, it is usually in conjunction with the flavor of the character rather than instead of. I do prioritize a character's flavor, but also want to have fun with it so I do both rather than focusing on one, altho i guess that does depend on where do you draw the line with minmaxing.
-I am considering an archfey warlock. I have had this character's concept and backstory in my mind for a while and have been looking forward to playing it, but haven't found a group where I feel like it will fit. hopefully it will in this one. Some other characters I had in mind are a gobarian and a gnome artificer, but the warlock is the one I am looking forward the most to play. Also could make up a new character alltogether if I feel like it fits better the group.
-I dont think I count as a gentleman, but I am a male if that matters XD.
-I really like critical role as something to consume and I would be lying if I said some bits of my characters aren't inspired on it. That being said, no, I am not looking nor expecting to play the exact same as CR. While I do see some people hold CR as the gold standard of what a game should be... I think that is a disservice to the game. CR is a great campaign in one style, but each table and DM have their own style.
Hopefully those answers don't disqualify me as someone to consider. I expect nothing, but hope for the best, and even if I am not chosen, still wish you all the best of lucks and have fun. =D
Edit: forgot to mention, I am 32 years old and have been playing for about half my age (maybe a bit over).
I love the concept of a persistent shared world. It's one I've used myself in novellas I've written over the last number of years. High degrees of RP are also appealing (even if I may be shy while I become accustomed to a new group), though I love combat as much as the next combat-loving person too. Your group sounds like you've got a cohesive system and world/character/player interactions and I love that.
I am shy and socially anxious, so don't tend to be the type to hype myself up. I love designing characters with particular themes/concepts and exploring the nuances in character relationships. I am still, in my own opinion, new to D&D. I have minimal experience (less than a year), but have enjoyed what I've played so far and would love to see more of what the game has to offer. I am, at least, relatively comfortable with the D&D Beyond/Roll20/Discord set up for playing with the Beyond 20 app.
I tend to prefer to play spellcasters or tanks (or hybrids of the two), generally speaking, even outside of D&D (ie. INT builds in the Souls series, tanks or magicka dps in Elder Scrolls Online, Warlock in Destiny, Storm in Anthem, mage in Dragon Age Inquisition, etc). I've not had much experience with any significant number of available classes, but generally I think I know what I wouldn't be interested in (artificer, bard, druid). I have very briefly played a few classes and my favourite (both for the actual character and her RP potential as well as her mechanics) was a Godzilla expy via a blue dragonborn tempest cleric.
I am a lady.
And Critical Role is the thing that really got me interested in trying to play D&D. I know it has a mixed reputation amongst different circles, so while I enjoy it for what it is, I recognize that it isn't the end all be all of how D&D is "meant" to be played as that really depends on the DM, the group and the campaign in question.
Hey a user named Kagochi told me about this and I was interested.
You seem like a you would be a cool group of people who don't take everything too seriously but hopefully have a good story/narrative that is engaging.
Personality wise, I'm both logic and random so I can think of a rational idea or come up with a ridiculous plan.
I've been toying with 2 ideas for classes (if allowed) either a Lizardfolk druid (circle of spores) or a Kenku Ranger, but I'm open to any class/race.
Oh, and I'm a 27 guy, but I can sometimes be a gentleman.
Well I think that learning from diverse and experienced players would be a good move to get a better understanding of the Worlds and how the game is played. Well I think my humor is good I got some bad dad jokes that will make Jolly good times. I would be considering a monk I've made my character but developing myself into this online character would be a unique experience,I am a lady.
Hi, I'm interested in your D&D group. I don't really know what I'd be able to bring to the virtual table. I haven't played since 3.5, but I'm adaptable to different playstyles and requirements. I would enjoy trying out as a Cleric, since I noticed one of your intermittent players is a Cleric. This way you should always have at least one with the party. Though I haven't ever been a Cleric I am excited to give it a try.
I am a male, early 30s. Married and with a kid.
I enjoy Critical Role. I didn't watch any of Campaign one and only a handful of episodes of Campaign 2, mostly because of time constraints. But it is enjoyable.
Hello! I received your message, but have been extremely busy so I may be a bit late to the party. I am specifically looking for a group that can provide consistent attendance, and definitely would look forward to heavy RP, so this post seems perfect! It's been some time, but if you are still looking I am definitely interested!
I am very new to DND, I've played 1 session in a group that is having trouble with scheduling (which is why I am hoping to find a more 'primary' group to play with!). So I do bring to the table some of that learning curve, but I also am very enthusiastic to play and can promise that I will respect, and appreciate, the points mentioned about keeping more serious topics like real world politics out of the equation.
I am very open to what classes I would play, but I have a druid (elf) and monk (Aarakocra) character sheet almost completely ready to go, just the backstories would need some finishing. Considering I am new to playing, I would be willing to play any class, purely for the experience in playing them.
Down to the basics, I am a 21 year old woman, pretty extroverted and open with RP. I play PC games, am working on film editing, and have recently started watching Season 2 (as well as EU) of Critical Role.
The biggest downside to playing with me is purely my lack of experience. So far, I have not experienced any combat in dnd and will be pretty open with things I simply don't know. I intend to absorb information like a sponge and do my best, but in some games a noob just isn't the right fit, so it's only fair to put it out there!
Hello, I am 22 yeats old and would like to play with you!
As for the questions:
1. I am very interested in a campaign that features actual recourse for ones actions and the actions of others!
2.Since I am new to the game i hope to bring a fresh perspective on things like Lore and Gameplay! ( I know basics of history since the worldbuilding that is present has been very entertaining!)
3. As for Class, I have ROUGH Drafts for sone PC's one for example: a Goliath Barbarian, a Elf Druid, a Tiefling Warlock. I also have a Dragonborn Mage but seeing that you already have a mage I believe that would be unreasonable to try and play.
4.I am a Regular Lad .
I have already looked at the Timezone difference and thlught about the commitment of beeing in a long-term Campaign so I'd be glad to join!
I like critical role but please dont spoil, I only got into them reasentley ( Liam having made Caleb woth a german accent warms my heart since i also speak german!)
Here might be relavent Info on me:
I am not a native english speaker, but i consider myself pretty good in conversations. I know the game's Terms better in english then German. I like roleplaying and have no fear of talking of serious themes. I might be shy the dirst time we meet but i'll warm up to people with time!

Hello I am looking for a D&D group to join I am a new play so I may not know very much.
I bring a wild imagination, a dragonborn warlock, and am a gentleman.
Hi, I was suggested to join this campaign based on a different post I made looking for a group (This post over: here https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/d-d-beyond-general/looking-for-players-groups/109142-lfg-old-player-looking-for-new-game).

What do you personally bring to the (virtual) table?
Well. I bring enthusiasm, and if we were to be offline I'd be bringing snacks too.
What class would you be considering playing?
I'm not sure yet. I'm was thinking a cleric or bard. Maybe a druid.
Are you a Lady or a Gentleman?
Gentleman.
Bonus question: what are your thoughts on Critical Role?
Never seen it. But I've been watching Dimension 20.
I've seen Fantasy High (Good shit)
And currently watching The unsleping city (good stuff as well)
22 years old btw.
P.s. CristelLight sent me.👍

Thanks for everyone's interest, but we found players for our group and we are now all full up. Good luck in finding a game.
Oof, I was too late.
