¿Is there anything better than daring trap and monster-filled dungeons for ancient treasure and artifacts? A whole continent, empty of life on the surface, teeming with secrets underground... everything an adventurer ever wished for. This is what the lands of Kathecan offer, but not everything is how it sounds. Curses follow much of this treasure, and as people bring back the artifacts into their homes, so evil comes with them, corrupting the very lands they live in. But why don't they stop? Because of the thirst, the commandment of their Godking. Khu-Sehput, he who gives eternal life, has decreed it so. Everyone in Kathecan is born with greed, with the desire for more, no matter the pain it may bring. And amidst it all, the immortal priests of the Church of the Risen preach that sacrifice is necessary and that one day Khu-Sheput will bring eternal life for all. But you are different, you are not affected by greed, and you can see this reality more clearly. The Godking is a tyrant and most likely a liar. What is he hiding in his palace?
Godking's greed is a campaign of horror, investigation, and exploration that blends gothic horror with ancient Egyptian themes and the horrific consequences of stealing other people's treasures. But mainly, it is one of planned retribution. The party comes together by their distrust of the Godking and the awful status quo of Kathecan. Maybe for purely egoistical reasons, or maybe because of genuine solidarity (or something in-between), players see Khu-Sheput as the true curse on the land. Perhaps something can destroy him, some ancient artifact hidden where others haven't dared gone. It could be an item protected by the Church, an artifact held by one of the great aristocratic families of the Godlands. Hey, maybe that something is you, and the secrets about the land and its King that you have learned.
