Hey, I'm Johann (Pronounced: Yo - han, it's German) and if you're willing to accept a slight homebrew Shardmind, I'd definitely like to join.
5E Experience: Very Little
Character name: Mel Trelek
Race: Shardmind
Class: Wizard
Alignment: Neutral Good
Availability to play: Mon, Wed, evenings. Some Tues evenings. Saturdays sometimes all day
Backstory: In short, the Cloistered Scholar. Mel Trelek was a shardmind that was found by another shardmind by the name of Roshtarrin. Roshtarrin was a member of the God Shard, and mentored and taught the young Mel Trelek the same. Mel Trelek leaned some magic as they traveled in search of crystalline gardens (from which the shardminds are born). They did not tend the gardens themselves, but rather cataloged them and would pass on the information to other God Shard members.
Mel Trelek learned from Roshtarrin, but most of his early studies and learning took place with history and study of philosophy as well as learning the languages of the more outlying, 'wild' races. Only recently did Roshtarrin disciple Mel Trelek in a few basic spells for protection and survival in the outside world. Also during their travels, Mel Trelek would take long periods of time to feel, listen to, and study the 'Deep Vibrations' that he felt since his awakening. He has not had much noticeable progress in his time studying and feeling these vibrations, but he has theorized that some may be essential to the existence of their originating planes, and some even deeper may traverse the fabric of the dimensions altogether.
Currently, Mel Trelek is traveling among more populated and 'civilized' races in attempt to further his arcane studies, understand different cultures, and in general, see and explore the world.
Backstory: Noble by birth but not by deed. The son of a minor noble who grew up privileged but whose wild streak and thirst for adventure and distatse for all things courtly meant he got on the wrong side of his father once too often and has now been disowned. To get revenge on his father he broke into the family manor and stole his Grandfathers Longsword - a family heirloom

Character name: Salira Sorrow
Race: Tiefling
Class: Bard
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Availability to play: Mondays and Wednesdays: Any time after 2pm PST, Fridays-Sundays: All day.
Backstory: Her ancestral family have faced many sorrows in their lifetimes, full of losses and heartbreaks, resulting in the origins of their last name. Salaria grew up in poor living conditions, raised by her mother, Makaria, to the best of her abilities. Makaria struggled to make ends meet, always reassuring her daughter that everything was fine and that things would get better, singing a delicate lullaby of their people, accompanied by the sweet tunes of her hand-crafted lyre. It helped put Salaria's concerns at ease, at least, until one fateful night. Waking up for a pitcher of water, all was calm until she made a return to her room, when a crash was heard from her mother's quarters. Slowly peeking through the door to see someone looming over her mother. And with one foul slice, killed Makaria in her sleep before slinking away into the night, but not without a small glance back, noticing the young girl peering through the door frame, their face, just barely illuminated by the moonlight sky.
From that point onward, Salaria grew up on her own, the only personal item in her possession being the Lyre her mother had crafted. Delving deep into her self-taught craft, she makes a living off the music and performances she displays, moving from town to town as she goes. Her performances vary in styles and tell various tales, but most consist of tragedies, sorrows, loss, and ...sometimes vengeance...
(I'm happy to change anything story-wise if you so wish, I'm flexible and can agree to changes that will better fit the story.)
Availability to play: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday (Noon till 1 am)
Backstory: Volan was born to a kind, aristocratic family in Waterdeep. His father was a human and high ranking member of a prominent mason's guild who wanted Volan to follow in his footsteps. However, his mother, a retired, Aasimar adventurer, saw his disdain for this way of life and trained him in the ways of survival. At the age of fourteen, he happened to visit a nearby temple of Bahamut and felt he had found his calling, to become a paladin of the Platinum Dragon. His family bid him a sad farewell as he traveled across the continent to the be trained at the High Temple. However, while outside of the city during a training exercise, he found himself accidentally transported to the Feywild. He was discovered by a female High elf warlock named Sariel Goltorah. She took an interest in him and took him in as he had no idea where or what transported him here. While at Sariel's abode, he found the ways of magic to be particulary fascinating intriguing and after a series of events, he became her pupil. Over decades spent in there, his views of justice, good and evil, and society changed, causing a deep hatred of corruption and monstrosities, as well as a thirst for combat. He drew upon the teachings of Bahamut as wet as those of Sariel, becoming something new, neither soldier, nor warlock. After reaching adulthood, he bade Sariel farewell and set out on his quest to seek out and destroy evil as well as seek the thrills of the world.
Studied magic as a child under the tutelage of my parents, who were gifted elven wizards. Both mother and father were nobles in a port city, it was grandfather's decision to move away from our nomadic village to start a new life in an urban environment. Over the years my family's reputation as skilled wizards rapidly grew. This reputation lead to the eventual assassination of my entire family, I can only assume they were hired by a rival group of wizards. The only reason I survived was a member of the small squad of assassin's decided to kidnap me and induct me into his organization. Over the next few years my magical studies were halted and I was taught the ways of the rogue. I became quite proficient in this new way of life but it wore me down. The man who took me in recognized this and sympathized with me and plotted to help me escape. He prepared me by setting me up with a list of contacts, taught me how to survive and stay hidden from the guild. After he was sure of the lessons he had taught me he stowed me away on a merchant ship to eventually start my new life.
