On and off for about 5 years. I wanted to play more, but every single campaign I've joined ends up getting cancelled before the end.
What's a really cool or memorable experience you have had while playing 5e?
Our group was about to fight a witch in 2-story log cabin. Snooping around, we discovered she was in a second-floor room with 2 windows, so we as a group decided to throw me and another character (we were both small, 2 other members were big and strong) through the windows to surprise attack. Over the course of the fight, the entire team had ended up in this one room, and the witch was at a massive disadvantage. So, she jumped out the window to escape, and every single member of the team one-by-one jumped out to chase her. Something about the mental image of this colorful cast of characters conga lining out a window is still very funny to me.
What are you looking for in particular in this campaign? In terms of combat, role-playing and exploration, what would be your ideal percentages?
I'm fine with anything, honestly. I'm currently part of a different group (that has had to cancel the past months' worth of sessions, hence why I'm looking for another group) that focuses more on combat, so I wouldn't mind a bit more of the others. I try to give all my characters unique/quirky personalities and backstories, which almost never comes up in combat.
What character class and race do you intend on playing?
I have 2 characters in mind depending on what the rest of the team comp would be, both are warlocks. If the team has more ranged, I'd be a half-elf hexblade. If there's already a bunch of melee, I'd be a fathomless halfling. I'm fine with either.
If you have a character concept, could you give a character overview such as backstory, personality, or motivations?
For the hexblade: I was reading the description for hexblades, focusing on "darkness and shadows", and after a while I said, "this sounds incredibly edgy". I decided to roll with that idea. This guy formed a pact with this dark entity during an emo phase in his teens. Afterwards, he spent years as a mercenary/bounty hunter/assassin in their name. At that time, he finally realized that what he was doing was super cringey. So, he quit being a sellsword, took a new identity, and worked as a performer for a couple years. But that wasn't paying very well, since he couldn't make music like a bard, and his magic wasn't as flashy as say a wizard's. So, he finally took up his blade again, avoiding being recognized for his past, and constantly being heckled and ridiculed by his patron for his dark (read: cringe) history.
Fathomless: This guy, I was originally inspired by the philosopher Diogenes. What a guy. He was nuts, and a lot of fun to read about, and I'd probably draw a lot of inspiration for interactions from stories of him. Back to the character. He's a former sailor whose ship was sunk by a kraken. Instead of letting him die, the kraken took him and told him his life belonged to it. But Dio (his name) don't take none of that, so while he follows orders, he half-@sses them as often as possible. 2 quotes I came up for him that I think summarizes his character: "Look, I'm not afraid of disappointing my own parents, what makes you think I'm afraid of disappointing some jack telling me he 'owns' me?" and "Me and him, we have and understanding. He tells me what to do, and I follow my orders. But he doesn't actually expect anything form a puny mortal, and I am perfectly content meeting those expectations."
Would Sunday be an ideal time for you? Are there any other days where you might be free?
While Sunday isn't exactly ideal (as I work early on Mon-Fri, and thus go to be early), I'd still be fine with it so long as we didn't go too late. I think since I'm PST, it should still work out fine. Saturday would work better for me, given the choice, but Fridays are off the table for me.
i’ve been a dm for about four years! i’ve only gotten to play in one full campaign that lasted for a few months during that time, plus a couple others that only lasted a few sessions :(
What's a really cool or memorable experience you have had while playing 5e?
i had a rogue who was arrested as a child and forced to become a mage hunter to get out of his sentence. he later deserted, and i got a chance to sneak back into the place where he was trained and spent most of his childhood. i love getting to explore my character’s backstory like that!
What are you looking for in particular in this campaign? In terms of combat, role-playing and exploration, what would be your ideal percentages?
role-play: 60
combat: 20
exploration: 20
the exact percentages are flexible, but i’m definitely more of an rp heavy player!
What character class and race do you intend on playing?
it mainly depends on the character and what works best for the game! most likely a cleric, wizard, or bard. races are probably half-elf, tiefling, changeling, or genasi.
If you have a character concept, could you give a character overview such as backstory, personality, or motivations?
i have some ideas in mind! all details are up for consideration to help the character fit better into the setting.
Valerie Elaina: half elf, college of spirits bard. she lived nearby an abandoned orphanage which was rumored to be haunted, and some of the townspeople claimed to have seen ghosts of the residents wandering at night. Valerie was a curious child who struggled to connect with the other children, and she found herself alone on her 11th birthday. that night, she wandered into the orphanage, where she met the ghost of a boy named Faryn. she stayed there through the night, learning old, forgotten songs from the ghost boy until she fell asleep and was taken back home by her parents.
she was forbidden to go back from then, but she still took every opportunity to visit her friend at the orphanage and was frequently in trouble with her parents and the townspeople for doing so. they were close friends throughout their teenage years, and she met several other spirits during that time.
one of these spirits was one called the “caretaker,” a frightening, monstrous spirit of the woman who owned the orphanage. Faryn had warned her to stay away from the Caretaker, but Valerie decided to seek her out during the night of a town festival, not wanting the spirit to be lonely. she found the Caretaker, who told her about a ritual that would release the spirits from the orphanage. wanting her spirit friends to get a chance to enjoy the festival, she agreed, and completed the ritual.
the spirits were released, but the ritual also drove them mad, causing them to terrorize the town and harm several of the townspeople before disappearing. the festival was immediately ended, and the townspeople quickly blamed Valerie as they saw her emerge from the haunted orphanage. though her parents forgave her, she was chased out of the town and forbidden to return.
she is now 23 years old, and has spent the years since then studying spirits, music, and magic. she is now seeking out any sign of hauntings or strange spirits in hopes of finding the Caretaker and her spirit friends, reversing the ritual, and healing the enraged spirits. this town of Berceau sounds to Valerie like exactly the sort of strange event that may harbor spirits, so she eagerly boards the ship to investigate.
Would Sunday be an ideal time for you? Are there any other days where you might be free?
sunday should be cool! weekdays at night are also fine.
I have never played myself, but I have been playing many RPGs and as a musician can be quite creative. I have been a fantasy fan my whole life, but really got into DnD in the past year.
What's a really cool or memorable experience you have had while playing 5e?
Again, I have never played, but I love the unexpected and the world is your oyster aspect of the game.
What are you looking for in particular in this campaign? In terms of combat, role-playing and exploration, what would be your ideal percentages?
I am looking to have fun, while getting an immersive experience i know the game can be. I love exploring, even in RPG games i just have to search every nook for possible findings and I am a side quest junkie :)
Exploration: 35
Combat: 35
RP: 30
What character class and race do you intend on playing?
I just created my first character. It is a half-elf bard, whose playing skills are sub-par and really doesn't want to play.
Because I am a musician myself, I am hoping to bring my profession to the table in the most awkward and weird ways possible.
If you have a character concept, could you give a character overview such as backstory, personality, or motivations?
Milus Goldfall is a chaotic neutral character, who never had anybody to rely on. His mother, Enya, who is of noble elvish birth, visited a human town, where she met a man named Lokhir in a tavern. They drank and talked, one thing led to another and shared the night together. When Enya returned home, she realised her mistake. She was pregnant. She knew Milus would never be accepted into the family. Even though Milus was her child, she bore no love for him, because he was the product of a drunken mistake, so after he was born, he was taken into the slums and left there.
Milus was found and picked up by a wandering troupe of musicians, whose main purpose was to infiltrate different social settings to play music for money, but that was an affront. Their real goal was to distract everybody, while other members pickpocketed any valuables they could get their hands on. However every valuable went to the main guy. Milus was brought up by them, learning to play music, but also thieving and social skills. The group policy was "do what you must to survive" and if you did not contribute, you were of no use. However even though he was brought up to be a musician, he never fully liked it and learnt his musicianship halfway, so his performances were sub-par at best. Through conversation he could convince everybody, that he was the best musician in the world, but when it was time to start performing, he would always come up with an excuse as to why couldn't do it right now ... maybe later.
Years later Milus was thrown out, because he stole a very valuable jewel from the wrong people, who tracked him down and the group got raided. He was beat up by those he stole from and then beat up by his own group who had raised him. Beaten and bloody, he was cast out. Now he wanders, using his skills to survive, by scamming and thieving. He learnt his lesson though. He is very careful about his targets and doesn't usually take from people, who have nothing. He mostly robs those, who would use others for their own gains. With no attachments, he loves to cause trouble and charm his way out of trouble. You could say he lives for the thrills, but because of his upbringing, he doesn't favour music too much.
(please let me know if this will suffice, because it is the first backstory I have ever created)
Would Sunday be an ideal time for you? Are there any other days where you might be free?
Sunday is mostly very good. There can be times, when I am performing myself, but most of the time it's not on Sundays.
I've played 5th ed for a little over a year. I have been involved in RPGs since the 90s, including many earlier versions of D&D, Storyteller series, and many many others
What's a really cool or memorable experience you have had while playing 5e?
As a dungeon master, I once gave a cursed weapon to a player. The weapon was very powerful, but was slowly corrupting the player. However, no game mechanics were necessary to corrupt the character. The player himself became so obsessed with the weapon he refused to give it up when it was determined to be a source of evil within the party. This culminated in an epic player-on-player battle that my friends still talk about over 20 years later.
What are you looking for in particular in this campaign? In terms of combat, role-playing and exploration, what would be your ideal percentages?
I am flexible. I just want to have fun with new people.
What character class and race do you intend on playing?
I can fill. I have fun as any class. I tend to play humans though.
If you have a character concept, could you give a character overview such as backstory, personality, or motivations?
I usually write a few paragraphs of a back story before building my character.
Would Sunday be an ideal time for you? Are there any other days where you might be free?
I am free Sundays and any week day after 8:00pm EST.
What's a really cool or memorable experience you have had while playing 5e?
Playing 5e in tech school in the Air Force I played a Lizardfolk Fighter I made named Volrak and we were in a scenario like a banquet fighting a giant snake. I rolled a nat 20 and scalped the snake from eye to eye.
What are you looking for in particular in this campaign? In terms of combat, role-playing and exploration, what would be your ideal percentages?
Mostly role playing the adventure and the combat
What character class and race do you intend on playing?
The character I'm playing is Tigrix(Rakan Blackstripe) a tabaxi barbarian and gonna multiclass him with a monk
If you have a character concept, could you give a character overview such as backstory, personality, or motivations?
My character's gladiator name is Tigrix, but his real name is Rakan Blackstripe his older brother is Nero Blackstripe. Rakan was a monk along with his brother Nero and best friend Kozuro a red dragonborn. At 21 Rakan went out to venture on his own till he was taken away to become a gladiator and was champion at age 25 and stayed champion till the age of 30 when he was defeated by his rival/friend Draxicus(Garto Noxus) a blue dragonborn who has a half brother that is a red dragonborn name Tarbo Noxus. Tigrix is very prideful and boasts to much that he was a champion. Despite his pride he is cool and calculated thanks to his monk training. His motivations after his rebellion is to go free slaves from wherever they may be whether if they were gladiators, smuggled in, etc. https://www.dndbeyond.com/profile/BboyTurok/characters/62849118
Would Sunday be an ideal time for you? Are there any other days where you might be free?
I'm free on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I sometimes work on the weekends since I'm in the Air Force Reserves and I also have a breakdancing gig as well on one Saturday. Time wise for Tuesdays and Thursdays I can do 5:30PM and onwards. Sundays I can do 12PM and onwards. If I work on that Sunday then 5:30PM and onwards.
How long have you played 5e? about a year, and been DMing for about 8 months
What's a really cool or memorable experience you have had while playing 5e? We once attempted to return a wizard -- who had been transformed permanently into a sheep by his evil apprentice -- back to his human form using a Wand of True Polymorph. DM asked us to roll a d100, and we rolled a 1. The poor wizard went from the cute but obviously impaired form of a sheep to a blubbering, smoldering glop of flesh with dozens of limbs and body parts poking out in all directions and perished within minutes!
What are you looking for in particular in this campaign? In terms of combat, role-playing and exploration, what would be your ideal percentages? I really love all aspects of D&D, from role-playing the quiet but tense moments while taking watch during a long rest in the wilderness, to the thrill of finding surprises and plot twists while out in the world of the campaign. Probably most important to me is the sense of camaraderie and belonging that gradually builds in party that learns to get along despite each character's rough edges, and over the course of sticking through thick and thin together (and perhaps experiencing a couple of life-or-death moments along the way) eventually become an inseparable team of lifelong friends. My ideal percentages would be as follows: 30 combat, 30 RP, 40 exploration/investigation, as I believe this gets us a nice mix of everything.
What character class and race do you intend on playing? If you have a character concept, could you give a character overview such as backstory, personality, or motivations? I would like to play as Jenkins, an elderly gnomish warlock who seems to be possibly a little senile and most definitely schizophrenic, occasionally talking to Jerry, his "best friend," who apparenly only he can see and hear. Most commoners treat him like they would any insane person, ignoring him and belittling him at times. This he generally lets slide, as the old man's jolly mood is hard to taint. However, every once in a while a troublesome fellow comes along, one who will try to take advantage of Jenkins' apparent feeble body and mind, whether it be trying to scam him of his coin, or to rob him of his belongings. When that certain line is crossed, that's when the ol' Eldritch Blasts start pumping out of the palms of his wrinkly hands.
And when that happens, them young'uns better get ready to duck, lest they get their fresh little heads plucked right off of their shoulders, heehee!
Jenkins has made his way to the Valley of Bellwinds from a faraway land. He was happily retired in an isolated spire for some time after going on many an adventure in his youth, but eventually grew tired of the samesy life every day and is looking for one last adventure before petering out of existence in a puff of greasy black smoke. He has heard wind of the appearances of strange slime-creatures raining from the sky near he town of Berceau and wants to see what's going on for himself before these damned knees finally decide to give out for good.
If you have a character concept, could you give a character overview such as backstory, personality, or motivations? Would Sunday be an ideal time for you? Are there any other days where you might be free? Sunday totally works for me! My job is very flexible in terms of schedule, so other than Monday nights when I DM a campaign of my own, I am available. Thank you for reading and I looking forward to hearing from you!
Best way of reaching me is probably via my Discord, which is randomletters#5284 :)

How long have you played 5e?
Honestly I just started my first dnd game about a month ago and because life the campaign is over before it started so this would (tho not technically) be my first dnd game.
What's a really cool or memorable experience you have had while playing 5e?
Uh...I havent made any..yet?
What are you looking for in particular in this campaign? In terms of combat, role-playing and exploration, what would be your ideal percentages?
My ideal percentages would probably be;
Combat 20%
Role Playing 25%
Exploration 55%
Hmm I'm personally more interested in the world building and exploration because I think the slime storm headed for Berceau is an interesting plot. The combat is actually something I'm curious to see because I want to know what I'd personally decide to do in high stress fantastical situations and the potential success in those situations..or funny shenanigans.
What character class and race do you intend on playing?
Rogue and Half-Human/High Elf
If you have a character concept, could you give a character overview such as backstory, personality, or motivations?
My character's name is Kyandi. They run a small cart pulled by a single donkey named Cream. As they travel from place to place, they sell small decoritive plants and personal use herb (;3) from the cart creatively called "Fern & Herb Shoppe". Sometimes traveling with a man by the name of Mr. McMurder and together they will routinely "loot" their place of stay the night before departure, adding to their collection of shinies and goodies.
Would Sunday be an ideal time for you? Are there any other days where you might be free?
Im free Sunday but I usually wake up in the afternoon. Sunday works but honestly any other day would work as well..my commiments are flexible.
First I have to say that I am amazed by all the wonderful applications that you have submitted. Truly, thank you for the interest!
I will begin reviewing applications on the 12th and will let you know if you have been accepted on the 13th. You will have three days to confirm your entry within this campaign; if I don't hear anything from you, I will assume that you are unavailable and will move on to the next applicant.
If you didn't make the first cut, don't worry! Since there are so many great applications, I am considering running two groups so keep your ears peeled!

How long have you played 5e?
I myself haven’t had many opportunities to play dnd 5e, however I have technically ran 6 one on one sessions randomly within a 2-3 years span. I'd like to play though. Although I am pretty shy at first.
What's a really cool or memorable experience you have had while playing 5e?
I’m not sure how much it counts, but when I first wanted to test out dnd 5e I had ran a one on one game with my father to see how I’d like it. I practically went into it blind with only a few short pdf pages from the guidebooks, and the fact I had no idea what I was doing. My father also didn’t know much about dnd, though he had mentioned playing a much older version of dungeons and dragon many years ago and he didn’t like it very much.
However that session thoughtlessly ran for about 5-6 hours, going past my father’s usual bedtime. That night my dad had gone to bed laughing about the silly and goofy things his character had gotten up to in that session, and that really felt like magic. So yeah, that left a good impression on me of the game.
What are you looking for in particular in this campaign? In terms of combat, role-playing and exploration, what would be your ideal percentages?
I think I’d like 40% Role-play, 30% Combat, and 30% Exploration. I enjoy the thought of being immersed as a character living in a world, while also having a bit of combat and exploration that helps tell their story.
What character class and race do you intend on playing?
I think I’d like to play a Half Elf, Draconic Bloodline Sorcerer here.
If you have a character concept, could you give a character overview such as backstory, personality, or motivations?
I do have a few concepts in mind, though I would also like to discuss the character and idea more fully with you if I get the chance to, so the character can be weaved into the world more fluidly.
However what I have in mind so far is this; her name is Zonara Kinna. She's about 20 years old. She comes from a less than ideal place, as an only child raised primarily by a sole caretaker (named Jade) that her parents hired for her a long time ago. Besides Jade, Zonara considers herself a part of another family, not in a blood sort of sense but in a tight knit thieves guild kind of sense. She is a bit aloof, yet very attentive over certain details (especially when it comes to stealing). She has a bit of sass to her, and really doesn’t like liars. Also she’s secretly a bit of a coward.
This next bit is something I’d like to discuss further if I have the opportunity to learn some more about your world because I found this bit kind of interesting right off the bat, but I think her parents are both blindly devoted to their studies involving izophysics. While at one point during Zonara’s younger life they showed love and care for her, they now have practically lost themselves to the studying and improvement of izophysics based creations, to the point that Zonara hasn’t seen them in person for a couple of years now.
Zonara wants to see them again. Despite the neglect and heartache they have caused for her over the years they’ve been gone. Despite them not being there when she went too far with her thievery, and wound up stealing something beyond her understanding that altered her form and blood in a strangely silver draconic magic like way. She’d like to show them that she’s still worth caring for. That’s probably why she’s on this sky ship, at least for now.
Would Sunday be an ideal time for you? Are there any other days where you might be free?
Sunday would be great, preferably sometime mid day rather than later but I’m honestly fine either way. And in terms of other days, I think any day during the weekend would be fine. Wednesday and Friday might be alright too.
I haven't played an ongoing campaign in 5e, only dipped my toes into dnd once before in a one on one session with a friend.
What's a really cool or memorable experience you have had while playing 5e?
I can't really say for sure since we didnt play for long, but i learned to love the aspect of roleplaying not as myself but as the character.
What are you looking for in particular in this campaign? In terms of combat, role-playing and exploration, what would be your ideal percentages?
I would definitely like to experience a campaign that is focused on roleplaying and character backstories over combat alone. Exploration is fun but i feel like a campaign can be great even on a smaller geological scale so i cant say for sure there.
What character class and race do you intend on playing?
I would want to play a satyr, possibly a druid, but i might need some advice from an expert with my character creation.
If you have a character concept, could you give a character overview such as backstory, personality, or motivations?
Details would have to be adjusted to the situation, but in general i would like to play someone whos reason to leave home is necessity, like some family issues that they would try to keep secret from anyone else in case they get shunned there too. None the less this character would be a very bubbly and happy one, even if a bit out of touch on how things work in the beginning.
Would Sunday be an ideal time for you? Are there any other days where you might be free?
Sunday would work perfectly, depending on the time zone so would every other day.
Thank you for all the interest! I will begin sending out acceptances and will probably be finished around the 16th but depending on whether people accept or not, I may extend the final date. I will post a final notice when all groups are full
What's a really cool or memorable experience you have had while playing 5e?
Once playing as a druid I had rallied an army of woodland critters to fight back against a group of undead, nothing was more satisfying then hear my dm describe the ways all the animals were helping tag in on the different enemies. While the actual usefulness of the various squirrels, birds and the lone deer was questionable, it was a great moment that my character was happy to bring up at the tavern after the fight.
What are you looking for in particular in this campaign? In terms of combat, role-playing and exploration, what would be your ideal percentages?
Roleplay would be a big thing portion of it for me. Really looking to build a character and their relationship with the world around them. To see how they would affect and change their surroundings and how they might impact the people they meet. Exploration and combat would share the other half of my interests. Combat is fun and I enjoy it but I also tend to try some less then traditional ideas usually. As far as an actual number went; Roleplay: 50%, Combat: 25%, Exploration: 25%
What character class and race do you intend on playing?
Im a bit flexible for what I could play and would want to do something that can benefit my group best while also being fun in a roleplay sense. But I had it in mind to play a Dragonborn (Silver) Rogue. They would be a STR based rogue and I would have every intention of taking the grappler feat if possible and play them as a more thug/hired muscle type then a traditional rouge.
If you have a character concept, could you give a character overview such as backstory, personality, or motivations?
As listed above, the idea was more for a Hired Muscle sort of vibe with my rouge.
Nleldan (Nel) was never a smart kid, struggled with his lessons, could barely focus on anything while he was sitting. He was a creature of motion, of excitement and thrills. So as a young dragonborn, trouble usually had a way of finding Nel. In his early years, this was things like petty vandalism in tribes village, stirring up the livestock, and small acts of theft from the local markets. He didn't need the things he stole and they never gained anything for all the trouble they caused, but it got his heart pumping, his head racing. He felt alive, the adrenaline coursing through his veins, so despite his parents best efforts. They were unable to corral his... energy.
In an attempt to put a stop to his antics once and for all, Nel's parents shipped him off to go and enlist in the local militia. There he would serve as a Guard for several years, always butting heads with his superiors and always finding a way to get a few more lashing. It fueled him to see the anger in their faces... or at least it broke up the monotony of guarding a village where nothing ever happened.. Until something did happen. He can still see the cold lifeless eyes of his childhood friends, the empty expression of his Sargent as his head rolled away, they were unprepared for the raiding parties assualt, and while the village managed to rally its people and fight them back, Nel had fled. He had ran, fear biting at his mind, his legs driving him on.
Its been years since then, as a deserter Nel would pick up work were he could find it, a bit of muscle here and a few cracked skulls there, whatever kept his belly full and a bottle of booze in his hand, he copes with the past as best he can. He often thinks of home, of his family, of the sister he never got to know and he hopes that they are alright, that they are well and that he can one day do right by them and the people he abandoned that day... but not today... Today he'll bust a few more heads, drown down those thoughts with a bit of mead and maybe take a look at that Quest Board again.
Would Sunday be an ideal time for you? Are there any other days where you might be free?
Sunday's work best for me (save for this upcoming Sunday 19th), Saturday and Monday in the evening also works fine by me.
IF you are still accepting applications (if not, my apologies):
Player Name
I'm Hildemar...
(*cough* well past 21 *cough*), they/them, EST)
How long have you played 5e?
For about 5 years, on and off, but most of that has been tabletop (in person), not internet. We have run some games over Skype, though I think there are better ways of doing this.
What's a really cool or memorable experience you have had while playing 5e?
One of the best moments was watching another player work his way through a puzzle our DM had set up. He really had a lot of fun with it, and though I wasn't directly involved at the time, it was really cool watching him! We were playing over Skype at the time.
What are you looking for in particular in this campaign? In terms of combat, role-playing and exploration, what would be your ideal percentages?
Roleplay, character development, seeing story arcs unfold. Sometimes the characters have growth arcs or redemption arcs - that sort of thing - and that's really nifty. I like to see some combat in the games, though I prefer it when it's story-driven. I'm taking a guess here, but maybe 40% combat, 30% RP, 30% exploration? Often, the best RP happens not only because the DM makes room for it, but when the players themselves are willing to get into character and make it happen, so as a player I see that much of that is up to the rest of us. I think I'm pretty flexible on that score.
What character class and race do you intend on playing?
I have a gnome rogue inquisitive that strikes me as a lot of fun to play.
If you have a character concept, could you give a character overview such as backstory, personality, or motivations?
The gnome (Ratcatcher; he/him) is half Rock, half Forest gnome; his mother is a personality in his home village, and his father is a finesmith. This rogue is occupied being a finder of lost things, not a thief; he has friends among the wood elves that live nearby, and after committing a faux pas is very sensitive to cultural differences. He is NG in alignment, with a strong sense of fairness and an understanding of teamwork. This is not the rogue who's going to steal from the party! (and if he catches anyone stealing, he's likely to get those lost things right back to where they belong.) His reputation is a retriever of lost children, animals, and things, not necessarily in that order. Loves a good mystery, tries to understand what makes people tick, enjoys the looks on people's faces when he returns their missing treasures to them. A bit of an imp, personality-wise. Still in love with nature and its creatures. Full backstory available as you like it.
Would Sunday be an ideal time for you? Are there any other days where you might be free?
Sunday is fine; Saturday or Monday or Tuesday would also work. Thanks for the consideration!
Oh i´m relatively new although it might be a bit over a year now since i first started
What's a really cool or memorable experience you have had while playing 5e?
A cool experience i always had with my halfling rogue, who really liked to sneak up on people and suddenly apearing next to them continuing the conversation.
What are you looking for in particular in this campaign? In terms of combat, role-playing and exploration, what would be your ideal percentages?
I am looking for a good mix of combat, roleplay and character development, since i view my characters as my friends and i want to see how they grow up and mature through their life
What character class and race do you intend on playing?
I was thinking on playing either a rogue or if needed anything that the group might fancy since i have a lot of character ideas in the backhand i really would love to try out
If you have a character concept, could you give a character overview such as backstory, personality, or motivations?
I was thinking of a rouge maybe halfling, maybe eladrin, that is maybe CG or NG and who shows his (Or her, didn´t decide yet) love and affection by Borrowing little trinkets from the party and replacing them with their own.
Would Sunday be an ideal time for you? Are there any other days where you might be free?
Sunday is an ideal time for me although it needs to be looked at at what time it is played, but i have no problem staying up a bit for a good group and a great amount of fun
(Age, Pronoun, Time Zone) Suffice it to say, I'm retired, she/her, EST
How long have you played 5e? Off and on over 5 years, not really sure when the first game was. Mostly DMing, although I often played a DM PC (usually something simple...). It would be nice to simply explore someone else's world.
What's a really cool or memorable experience you have had while playing 5e? Speaking as a DM now, I have to go with the time the party was faced with a young dragon, a tribe of goblins (being terrorized by the dragon and passing that on to...), the local townsfolk. Instead of fighting, they arranged a truce: offering the dragon a 'famous cave' to live if he would stop killing the goblins, and the local townsfolk no more goblin raids if they agreed to trade with the goblins. In the end, the dragon went to his cave and the townsfolk now celebrate "Goblin Night" (think Halloween).
As a straight up player, it's harder because it's been a while, but I'd have to go with my Avariel character flying a young Treant out of a cave where it was languishing. (The cave had a chimney passage reaching up to the surface - there was enough light for it to survive, but not by much.) Having the DM let me do that was priceless. (He also let me play an Avariel Cleric, even though, at first, he had issues with the ability to fly. Fortunately, the characters backstory provided a justification for that and, over time, she could fly again -- at least a little.
What are you looking for in particular in this campaign? In terms of combat, role-playing and exploration, what would be your ideal percentages? Putting numbers to this is hard, because it depends on the world and the characters in it. Give me a well drawn world and I will happily just explore. Give me a good party to play with and I will just as happily RP. Combat is less important to me. Given the length of your planned sessions, I would say at least one small combat, at most a few small ones or one more involved one. But I'm not going to cry if there's no combat at all in a session because we're all to busy exploring or interacting.
What character class and race do you intend on playing? I think I will go with an NPC character from one of my campaigns, an older Gnome/Halfling Monk.
If you have a character concept, could you give a character overview such as backstory, personality, or motivations? You see what appears to be an older female Halfling, but oddly different from most Halflings standing a touch over 3' tall and very slightly overweight although she moves with a hypnotic grace. Her hair is long, brown and tied behind her head. She has warm brown eyes and her skin is a light brown color. You get the impression of someone who is aware of everything around her.
Seeking to escape the disapproval that their mixed (Gnome/Halfling) marriage engendered in their respective families, Nym's parents moved to the city when she was quite young. She barely remembers the hills and woods of her early childhood. Early on, she showed a pronounced talent for getting into places she shouldn't. Finding herself fascinated by the chanting of the monks in the temple next door, she managed to sneak in enough times that the monks finally gave in and started to train her in the "Way of the Shadow".
At a certain point the monks asked her what she planned to do with her skills. Stumped, she asked their advice and one of them suggested that Roywyn Garrick at Royal Investigations might find her of use. Nym and Roywyn hit it off at once and Nym became one of her best spies. Her insight into people and her ability to become almost invisible, to see and hear without being seen or heard, complemented Roywyn's analytical mind. They rose up through the ranks together and it surprised no one when they become lovers.
Would Sunday be an ideal time for you? Are there any other days where you might be free? Saturday or Sunday is fine. Evenings early in the week would also work.
Played and DMed 5e for around a year now, in-person.
What's a really cool or memorable experience you have had while playing 5e?
Our oceanic homebrew campaign has brought some great, inventive ship combat to light, but our bloodthirsty orc barbarian recently petted a rabbit instead of killing it, in a super tender RP moment that has stuck with me!
What are you looking for in particular in this campaign? In terms of combat, role-playing and exploration, what would be your ideal percentages?
I'm honestly quite capable of adapting expectations either way. I'm an actor so I love the role playing aspect, always will, however the combat is so addictive that I'll never dismiss a roll-heavy session.
What character class and race do you intend on playing?
Very open to playing whatever fits with the DMs world; I'm versatile and compassionate. I'll be loyal to the stat-rolls, as far as character goes.
If you have a character concept, could you give a character overview such as backstory, personality, or motivations?
Absolutely, I thrive off the creation and exploration of story, motivation and flaws.
Would Sunday be an ideal time for you? Are there any other days where you might be free?
Sunday would be perfect; all other days after 5pm PST!
Been DMing for about 2 years, I haven't gotten to play a character yet.
What's a really cool or memorable experience you have had while playing 5e?
Curse of Strahd, I had a player who didn't feel like the other players liked/wanted them there, even though they all did. So in the final battle I kind of made up a move/mechanic for Strahd where he launched a massive attack at the insecure player. Alone they couldn't do anything but take the damage, but if all the other players agreed to jump in front of the attack as well then they'd all roll a saving throw to try and combat the attack, if it failed though they all took the hit. They all jumped in, rolled high, and I made it look like they even pushed the attack back at Strahd doing alot of damage, and made the player know that their party would sacrifice themselves to save them.
What are you looking for in particular in this campaign? In terms of combat, role-playing and exploration, what would be your ideal percentages?
More roleplay heavy than anything, but I want alot of combat and exploitation as well. Percentage wise I'd say roleplay 50%/combat 30%/exploration 20%
What character class and race do you intend on playing?
Half-Elf Warlock
If you have a character concept, could you give a character overview such as backstory, personality, or motivations?
I want to play a Pact of the Fiend Warlock, who basically mutually fell in love with a Succubus, but her father didn't want her dating some peasant that was abandoned by his own family, so he granted him powers and a job to hunt down people who abandoned their patrons.
Would Sunday be an ideal time for you? Are there any other days where you might be free?
Yes, Sundays are the only day I get off work early, so that's perfect.
For all intents and purposes, let's call me brand new. Last time I played I was 12.
What's a really cool or memorable experience you have had while playing 5e?
What are you looking for in particular in this campaign? In terms of combat, role-playing and exploration, what would be your ideal percentages?
I like character development, acting.
What character class and race do you intend on playing?
I am at your service. Throught D&D Beyond, I have rolled/created three characters that interest me: What would interest you? I have not played any of these characters.
Chaotic Good Half - Elf Bard
CG HE Wizard /Rogue
CG Dragonborn Druid/Ranger (I don't know what happened. I haven't played anything, but somehow this character is level 2)
LN Dragonborn Blood Hunter

How long have you played 5e?

How long have you played 5e?
i’ve been a dm for about four years! i’ve only gotten to play in one full campaign that lasted for a few months during that time, plus a couple others that only lasted a few sessions :(
What's a really cool or memorable experience you have had while playing 5e?
i had a rogue who was arrested as a child and forced to become a mage hunter to get out of his sentence. he later deserted, and i got a chance to sneak back into the place where he was trained and spent most of his childhood. i love getting to explore my character’s backstory like that!

How long have you played 5e?

Playing 5e in tech school in the Air Force I played a Lizardfolk Fighter I made named Volrak and we were in a scenario like a banquet fighting a giant snake. I rolled a nat 20 and scalped the snake from eye to eye.

My ideal percentages would probably be;

I will begin reviewing applications on the 12th and will let you know if you have been accepted on the 13th. You will have three days to confirm your entry within this campaign; if I don't hear anything from you, I will assume that you are unavailable and will move on to the next applicant.

How long have you played 5e?

How long have you played 5e?
On and off for the last four years
What's a really cool or memorable experience you have had while playing 5e?

Sunday's work best for me (save for this upcoming Sunday 19th), Saturday and Monday in the evening also works fine by me.

How long have you played 5e?

How long have you played 5e?
Thanks!

How long have you played 5e?
