I joined Dragonworks almost a year ago to check out their offering of free quests and had a great time. I tried out a couple of them, each with a different DM, and had a positive and unique experience with each one. They were well written and well run, with a nice mix of combat and RP. I quickly signed up for the Grand Campaign expecting the same, and got so much more when I joined Tiger team on Mondays. I've been playing the campaign since late February and been having a blast. It is well written and seems to offer endless possibilities depending on character choices. Our DM Burnz is amazing and done a great job with Tiger team. Thanks to him Mondays have become my favourite day of the week.
The Dragonworks community is very helpful, respectful and friendly. I have found all of the DM’s and admin that I have come across are open to input, suggestions and constructive criticism. If you are looking for a great place to play D&D I cannot recommend Dragonworks enough, it is easily the best online D&D community that I have come across. Come for the free quests and you'll want to sign up for the campaign.
I'm not one for normally writing a review but I felt Dragonworks deserve one.
For my time over the last few months I would say it has been an enjoyable experience. My GM has been great and we haven't really run into any issues. If we had they have been quickly resolved. I know that if I missed a session and let my GM know I haven't had any issues getting a refund for example.
The campaign and the world you can tell have had a lot of hours put into crafting. At this stage I can see myself trying to see out the campaigns completion.
With a paid campaign I would say that everyone is helpful and wants to be there, which makes for a great environment. The players and GM's show more commitment I have found that you will find with some other randomly run games.
Overall I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a stable group and long engaging campaign.
While I am fairly new to D&D and started with 5E, I did go on a hiatus for a few years, mostly due to bad experiences playing games previously. However, after joining DragonWorks and participating in their grand campaign it has been an enjoyable experience. The groups and the DM are very knowledgeable and fair with their decisions, and always willing to help if you have questions or want to go over new ideas you have that you want to integrate into your character. Not to mention, the constant availability of free quests that you can participate in separately from the grand campaign. I would highly recommend trying out the grand campaign, it has a great story!
For anyone looking for a great DM and a great setting, look no further. I have been in a lot of paid DnD campaigns but always gotten disapointed about the quality of the game. I have had DM's who were never prepared, didnt show up for sessions and who were, quite frankly bad DM's. But thats not the case here, every DM ive met but especially my DM loves the sourcematerial, are very well prepared for the sessions making it a smooth and truly great experience and they are all friendly. There was no problem getting a refund when i ended up having to miss a session and they are happy to help and talk outside of game time. They have also set up Quest adventures that are free to join if you want to play more DnD.
I strongly suggest giving it a try, you will definetly not regret it!
I have been playing D&D in person since the 80s, never online. Not even through the Pandemic. Lately though, my in person games just arent enough. So I decided to evolve and start looking to play 5E online. I went through a number of posts in Roll20 trying to join but it was just not happening. That is until I found Dragonworks. I presented myself...as myself, lol, and they took me in with open arms. New to how to actually start playing, I had members right away join me in chats and screen sharing sessions to help me get my bearings, a character made, and intro'd to DM's/teams.
This is the experience I had been looking for when evolving to play online and now I'm happy to call myself a member of the Dragonworks Community. I will be spreading the word across the lands to help us continue to grow. We hope to see you at the tables soon!
We're now opening Wendigo Team 🦌💀 on Saturdays 8AM PST / 9AM Mountain / 10AM Central / 11AM EST - (check timee.io/3Ax for your local time) - Newly opened! 6 Open Player Slots!
I first joined for the free one shots. I liked them, they were original and Dragon works has some unique options. I started playing grand campaign on Monday afternoons (eastern time) and it is going well. Again the grand campaign is original content but uses 5e rules. We have people from Europe and the US playing at the table and its fun to interact with the different experience levels, but everyone feels welcomed.
I started playing DnD last year. I joined a team in the Grand Campaign a few months ago and I’m having so much fun. The DM has been very patient with me figuring things out and makes sure to point out when I’ve done something creative. The other players I’ve met are all incredible as well. They helped me figure things out since I joined mid campaign. I’m loving every second of my time here.
Dragonworks has crafted a very expansive setting in the TTRPG universe that has both a unique story and plenty of opportunities for players to explore their own path. The main storyline is paced slowly to ensure that you have a long-running campaign you can really build upon your character's in and create lasting friendships with your party members. With very competitive pricing and a huge amount of available tables and GM's, your sure to have months to years of play. I've only been active in the original campaign with a single GM, but i've also played in their free quests which are low level one-shots that are also crafted to provide both good learning experiences and quick and dirty gameplay for those that want it. The management is very fast to handle issues and they are always respect your wish's if you need a temporary pause in payments or a change in play schedule.
If your looking for a consistant gaming experience, feel free to join up and you wont be disappointed.
The time I have had in Dragonworks has been very fun and interesting to say the least. The ttrpg group is welcome to all wither they be veteran or new to the game. Highly recommend this group to play with.
The leader of the server contacted me on Roll20 (I think, it was a while ago) regarding this campaign, and at first I thought it might be a scam. Just one of those things that you get every now and then, like: "Hi, you should join our server and give us money for totally legit and not-at-all-BS games!" But it turned out to be very well-organized, planned, and friendly. Everyone was very helpful in getting me into a campaign that fit my schedule, they explained and walked me through the various quests/one-shots that were offered, character approval, the whole shebang. Once I joined a campaign, the DM and I even had a 1-on-1 to develop the character concept, as I was joining one that had basically just started.
DW trains their DMs very well; my DM was extremely good, the best one I've ever played with. I've been playing for a few years now online, and a few years offline before that and COVID. I don't have as much as experience as some or maybe even most, but I have enough to know a good DM and a good campaign when I experience it. The campaign has been so good, as have my other experiences, that I actually joined a second team in addition to the first just so I could play the same campaign with a different character. You'd think there would be a lot of overlap with the stories - and there is some, being a pre-written grand campaign, after all - but homebrewed side-content is highly encouraged and no two campaign instances are ever the same, so it never feels like I'm just doing the same things over and over again. Ideas are fairly considered and even when not approved, the reasons behind it are sound and well-communicated without judgment.
In all honesty, this has been the best D&D experience I've ever had. I'd highly recommend it to anyone, even if you're just looking for a random 1-shot every now and then. There's something for just about everyone here.
10/10 campaign, world building is incredible, combat is well thought-out, the DMs are amazing, the whole community have a great vibe. So glad to be a part of this

Hi, I would love to join, but most open slots seem to be in the early morning or during the night in my time zone.
Looking for games starting at 20:00 or 21:00 GMT +7 (13:00-14:00 GMT or 5:00AM-6:00AM PST).
Hope to see more campaign during the evening in Asian time zones. Many thanks in advance.
Kind regards
Thank you for informing us, Appie! We will do our utmost to open more such teams!

Joined up this last May and here's my take:
