Platform: Discord VC, DnD Beyond, Foundry Time: every Sunday 5PM Central Time
Level 1 Characters.
Looking for more people to help me make the switch from 3.5 to 5th edition. I've DMed for over 10 years and finally decided to move over to the dark side. I've been using Roll20 for the last 6 years and am also switching over to Foundry VTT. Still getting the hang of it. My campaigns are sandbox since I know FR pretty well. Also have run Planescape, Dark Sun, some Ravenloft, and Home Brew.
I'm very new to the game player looking to learn an have fun.The time wouldn't be a problem since i live in central time as well. Oh but watching researching the game my style would be more of saying what i'm going to try and rolling to see if you'll allow it hopefully that be ok? So hope to hear back from ya.
Hey, I'm fairly new to the game but I have a really good handle on the rules for 5th edition and I'm familiar with 3.5 edition and the differences between them. I'm a bit of a rules lawyer so I'll be able to help with the transition, but I do have a tendency to only speak up if I feel like a ruling is going to make the game less fun. I.e. if someone wants to "break the rules" in order to do something fun and not complete nonsense, and you're fine with it, I'm never gonna say "well technically you can't do that". At the end of the day, it's a game, and the rules are there to guide you, not trap you in a box. I'm also familiar with the lore and lands of the Forgotten Realms, although this comes more from various novels and lore videos than playing.
I have several character ideas, many require slight homebrew tweaks, but since you're trying to transition, it would probably be better to make characters from scratch in a session 0.
Idk how well I can run foundry on my phone, which is all I have for this, but I know it works fine with roll20 and d&d beyond, so it should be OK.
Hello names matt. I have been playing dnd for a while now close to 5 years. the time is perfectly fine for me. i usually try to go for what the party is missing usually. My discord is @venomrage88#6693. hope to here from you.
Hey I haven't played many games a few one shots and a rather dull boss raid style game with no real plot. However I do have a very good memory when it comes to the 5e rule set atleast most of them. So if you would like a newer player that would be able to help keep the game 5e style. I like to warn people I like to use homebrew stuff with most of my characters, mostly things like a custom weapon with unlockable skills, a custom pet or a qustom race. Most of my creations are modular and primarily controlled by the dm on growth, there's no set ways to make them stronger its all chosen by the dm.

Can I get back to you. I might get a no show.
Phlan...That is a name I have not heard in a long time...
Did you read the pool of Radiance novel or use the original pool of radiance adventure? They even made a videogame out of it...Classic!
Good times...
Best of luck with your campaign.
Yes good times indeed. I still remember the ocean breeze on cold Phlan nights.
