Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Online Experience: Veteran Location/Timezone: CST Availability: Evenings after 7pm CST (have been playing Sunday evenings) Preferred role: Player Game style: I tend to enjoy darker more gritty settings where the deck seems to always be stacked against the party. Elaborate plotlines, carefully crafted back stories, and narrative hooks are my drug. I don't have any problem with lighthearted humor but I don't tend to enjoy a lot of silliness in a game. I prefer complete immersion or as close as I can get to it.
I have been playing in an excellent campaign with a plot that twists and turns for the past 6 months but it just wrapped up recently so I'm looking for a new group to adventure with. I am 46 years old, am extremely reliable and prompt, and I expect others to respect my time and commitment to the campaign as much as I do theirs. I don't deal well with canceled sessions without a really good reason for it. I also don't have a lot of patience for immaturity. I know this all makes me seem like an old geezer (and that's probably not far from the truth) but I just know what I want in a campaign.
If I haven't scared you off yet and you think your game is a good fit please feel free to contact me here or on Discord: Zaknaril#4511
If you're looking for a player who actually puts a ton of thought into his character's backstory and personality development I'm your guy! To me the class and race mechanics serve the RP not the other way around. I'm not about min/max but all about flavor!
oi. putting together a drawf campaign if you're interested. still have to develop it, but i'm trying to base it around the group playing rather than cookie cut and fit. https://discord.gg/66Sy2suB if you're interested.
Haven't quite found the right fit yet. I'm not interested in a "westmarch" style game (I had to research what that even is) because I'm looking for a consistent group to play with and not something where many different players come and go.
have 3 players currently. everyone will start with a "role" in the hold to fit better than "you're in a tavern" and to give the group more cohesion in rp
We're also veteran players, all of similar/same age as yourself, with a focus on story and character. GM is a history buff, so our stories tend to go in a darker, more gritty direction. You don't mention the particular flavor of online gaming you prefer, so we may or may not be a match; notably, we do not use voice like so many do, and we include play-by-post as an important part of the game in between weekly Roll20 sessions.
@Sekhmet7 thanks for the offer but I am most definitely interested in a live voice interaction. I don't have a problem with play-by-post happening between sessions but I prefer my main sessions to be voice (and even video when possible).
One thing I am noticing in the games I've been a part of or have been contacted about since returning to D&D is that many of them are not "collaborative" in that the main plot has already been established and there's very little agency for the player. The plot is designed to railroad the party towards certain story beats and encounters by the DM.
I'm looking for a game where the DM creates the world but it's the player's choices and decisions that drive the plot. The DM and the players may not be equal partners in the storytelling but the players should always feel that they've been able to leave their mark on the world.

Please do not send me messages about a paid game (I can't believe that's even a thing)!
I can be somewhat flexible on play times if it means finding a good campaign.

Still looking! Thought I had a game but it mysteriously fell apart. Why does this feel like online dating?
