Are you new to DND, and new to PBP? Well this is the game for you! This PBP (play-by-post) game is intended for people new to DND and PBP, and exists to teach new players about how the game works, how PBP works, as well as the experience of a classic D&D adventure set in one the most iconic worlds in the canon.
This is a recruitment thread for a game I will be running here on the PBP forum. Without further ado, let me tell you what this game is all about:
In the fantastical world of Faerun, where heroic warriors, cunning rogues, devout priests, & bookish wizards fight against dastardly fiends, ancient dragons, & sneaky goblins, as well as a whole slew of other evils, a brave group of heroes sets out on a journey that will take them on travels to fantastical places, as they thwart the schemes of villains and retrieve mighty artifacts of legend! These heroes are you.
-Character Idea: Tell me what kind of character you want to play. You don’t have to tell me everything about your character, but if you could tell me at least some basic facts (your characters race & class, name, ETC).
-DND Experience: Tell me if you’ve played any games of DND before, if you’ve ever done PBP before, ETC.
I hope all of this is clear, if you have any questions, just ask in this thread or in a private PM.
I will, I want to play a life cleric/monk half elf named horros no expirence with anything that you asked for
More in depth on my character
horros was a half elf faithful to his life temple till the day they labelled him a heretic for being around a blood hunter now a traveling refugee and exile horros is now the perfect canvas for your story he likes taverns
he goes there to plan and rob and he justifies it by saying they are heretics but he has a friend named Montgomery who "went missing' and he got kicked out of all places he goes to hide but now he wants new beginings
earlier in his life horros had his parents killed by heretics to the church of life a prominent feature his father a human warlock attracted the attention of his life god and his elf mother always supported him till he was 2 when there house was stormed the life god brought him back to life giving him a poison immunity as the heretics weapons were coated with poison he then was raised by the good priest and revolutionist human ordokian but then ordokian was killed so our young 7 year old horros with nowhere to go to turned to a local blood hunter who taught him techniques to to save his life and to hide but soon the evil high priest Adolf h- I mean Randolph center forced him into church exil and kill on sight so he ran and fled traveling miles after miles till he swam and found the monastery of falling petals and learned basic monk training but not wanting to get them killed he fled ending up in this story
I sent a private message, but I'll copy the bulk of that message here.
I'm looking to play a bard, probably a half-elf - but not from the Baldur's Gate area. I'd like to separate anything that I create from the whole BG3 region to reduce the amount of game-specific lore a DM would have to incorporate.
Reinaldo Demercadi is around 35 - 40 years old already by the time the adventure begins, and he's somewhat infamous among the regional taverns for being an indebted drifter and recalcitrant swindler. He's an excellent storyteller, and he kinda-sorta-maybe pays his keep by regaling the people with tales of daring and adventure. He thinks of himself as a historian, and he is careful to write down the accurate histories of the places he visits, even when his oral recitations are wildly embellished.
He is possessed by an insatiable wanderlust which has taken him from Icewind Dale to Waterdeep and inland as far as Sundabar. He has a list of places he would like to visit - Uttersea, the Iron Keep of Omans Isle and, at some far point in the future, Myth Drannor.
He keeps contacts with Candlekeep - a librarian named Radost Cottlelein, with whom Demercadi exchanges letters. They have an ongoing conversation about the history of the world. Demercadi will write down the folktales and verbal bobs that he hears from townsfolk about their area, and he'll send those notes back to Cottelein for verification or addition to the worlds histories.
I am new-ish player looking to join! I have a Half-Elf character that is a Druid with several different skillsets. Background for the character is essentially an ex-druid priestess that left her corrupt temple to become a chaotic good eco-terrorist to fight the kingdoms that destroy the land and its creatures.
I'm located in the US, MST with flexible availability (college student).
I'm new to most DnD software/apps, but if you tell me what I need I'll get it set up!
Hi! I’m a 1st time DnD player but with decent knowledge about the format, lore and rules (also have played a LOT of BG3 and DnD style video games). Really friendly guy with limited time so thought the play-by-post would be the perfect format to get some actual experience :)
-Character Idea:
Deep Gnome Druid (circle of spore) with Sage background. His name is Magnus, 25 y/o, 3’6”, with dark gray/blue skin, long straight white hair and luminescent teal eyes. He will have the sage background, as far as backstory: He was left stranded and hurt (for reasons he cannot remember) at a very young age in the Underdark. A Myconid colony found him, healed him and raised/taught them their ways. He absorbed and craved all sorts of knowledge, being naturally gifted in magic helped a lot as well and developed on his spell craft with the archdruids of said colony (hence becoming a circle of spore druid). This expanding thirst for knowledge lead him to the outside world for truth and adventure!
I'd be interested in joining if space is still available. Also a first-timer here, but have been reading up and watching some D20 so familiar with general mechanics and the like.
The character I have in mind would be Zanjin, he is a Tiefling Rogue with the Criminal/Spy background.
He is a bit of a drifter and has had to fend for himself since a young age (now in say his late 20s?), following a tragic accident that left him orphaned. Despite his infernal appearance, he has a mostly calm demeanor, which helps him lighten the coin purses of the unsuspecting; when that backfires, he can handle himself in a scrap. Though he has been getting by just fine, he is longing for something a bit more.

Nick 2's Character Sheet - D&D Beyond (dndbeyond.com)
I'm definitely interested in learning and playing, I just went through the character creation guide
Eltec Arbroth Character Sheet
I made a Dragonborn Fighter named "Eltec Arbroth"
I'm brand new to both DND and PBP, trying to join something from this site, and an app called rolegate
If that type of character won't work, I'm absolutely willing to create a new one so i can learn

hey if they accept us we will be in the same party
