I'm (he/him) starting my 40s by doing things I always wanted to get into but never did- D&D is one of those. I feel I can uniquely fit into an existing (longstanding?) group as a reliable and open-minded member willing to participate in a way that maximises the group's enjoyment of the game. I'm allergic to bickering and arguing, so I am unlikely to cause disputes with other game members. My work-life balance is quite good so I don't foresee any reason why I would miss agreed upon game nights. I work in medicine and psychiatry and my entire life has been devoted to equity and fairness not simply in health but other areas. I am married with kids and I am happy to play and grow to be friends with players of all backgrounds and sexual orientations.
I have purchased the old guidebooks and am finishing a read through and have ordered the new PHB to arrive next month.
I'm hoping to find a feeling of comfort in an established group rather than something that forms and disappears nearly as quickly. I am happy to perform any interview or conversation to determine goodness of fit. If online I can purchase whatever software is necessary and use voice/video. If in person I can contribute resources to building the game map or tools for the game (or just food and drinks).
Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Online / Face-to-face / either Experience: New Location/Timezone: Maryland/EST Availability: Monday through Friday 6pm-1am, Saturday/Sunday 3pm-1am Preferred role: Player Game style: I like to fit in, rather than seek something specific. If you have an interesting roleplay oriented or combat oriented or alternative rule game etc. I am interested to hear from you. I am fast learner and I would take considerable personal time to understand nuances of the game or prepare materials in advance. If you are the kind of group to try other games at times, I would be happy to try experiences other than D&D as well. I realize there is a large universe of roleplaying activities out there and groups may want to be flexible.
I have a campaign I run most nights(est 6pm-12am) depending on availability.
It's a home-brew with actual campaigns mixed in for plot and help with leveling. You are free to play as you wish or make a character that we don't have yet.
Would love for more people to join in and get this thing bigger, as I work out story kinks lol. If you can use discord that's all we ask, well that and no politics for obvious reasons.
Feel free to message me and ask any questions you have.

Hello! You sound kinda perfect for us? There's 3 of us (4 if you include our DM) who played together for the last year and just lost too many players. We're happy to help you learn and right in your age range.
