Hi! I’m based in Ireland and have only recently developed a love for dnd, I have no experience with actually playing but have watched hours of people playing on YouTube and such and have read the handbook. I’m looking for lgbtq+ friendly people who are looking to play or even just talk about the game as i dont know anyone else who is interested irl. Please don’t hesitate to shoot me a reply or a message!
I'm from the US, and I have only just made an account here today.
I've been reading a lot up on DnD (also watching LOTS of people playing on youtube too lol) and am starting to create a couple potential adventurers, but I also don't have any experience playing the game with others irl haha. If you're alright with it, I'd be happy to chat with you about the game. I don't really use these platforms much, so if this is not a preferred way of reaching out to you please let me know!
A potential starter question: what are some of your favorite DnD groups on youtube? I haven't watched that many different ones yet, mostly just snippits of the more popular groups (Dimenstion 20, Critical Role), but one group I'm really enjoying right now is "Legends of Avantris." I'm in the middle of their mini-campaign "UpROOTed: Dimwits of Dimwood," and am loving it- absolutely hilarious!! I love watching (though you could just listen to it like a podcast) it while crafting or drawing or painting.
Good Morning! My name is Grim and I am a pro DM who has been running campaigns for 7+ years. I currently have two paid campaigns about to start on Tues and Wed at 7pm CST timezone. I help new players who have never played and always run tables with patient players who are good with new players. If you are interested in Joining either Rime of the Frost Maiden (tues) or Dragonlance Shadow of the Dragon Queen (Wed) let me know!
Also if you are wanting to learn how to play without the pressure of learning on the fly I also offer a course as well as private tutorship so you can comfortably learn at your own pace. If interested please let me know! Welcome to DND!!!!
I'm from Germany and in the same boat, been searching for weeks now and most people do say that they would play with new players but i just never hear back from them and then there's the paid ones, which i'm also not willing to do. So if there's enough people i'd be interested to join or even take the plunge and try my hand at being the DM (i'd have to look for a fitting adventure and prepare though).
Hey Gandhisaurus! I understand the issue you're facing. While I understand you're not willing to pay to play here's some perspective from some players that do. They pay because they are investing into their group and know the other players are doing the same. People don't pay and not show up, so you essentially are paying for the consistency of players as well as for the time and many hours of preparation from the DM. I understand everyone is in different situations, so definitely do what is best for you but I hope this helps for the future when trying to find other players. Mind you that different dm's charge different rates so you can find some who essentially you pay a coffee for. I hope you find a great group of players and if you are trying your hand as a DM best of luck! Cheers!

Looking for people to help teach me or learn together. Never played but watched countless hours on YouTube so I have an idea of how things work
