I joined the discord, there is a channel where you have to write a few things about yourself and your exp with TTRPGs, so i posted this, next thing i know i got kicked from server, for sure i didn't type anything offensive, so im guessing they just ONLY accept people who write exactly what they are looking for in the introduction channel, DO NOT JOIN THIS DISCORD..how about put that in your post that unless you post exactly what I want like a dictatorship you get kicked. this is not what people want in there D&D community
Hey all, we are looking for Dnd Gms and Players feel free to join our group. https://discord.gg/5KeAMmQ. everyone is welcome, we are an equal opportunity community.
Hey I tried to join the server, and in my welcome message I don’t believe I said anything offensive. Can I just get a reason? Just wanna know because I’m pretty sure I didn’t do anything wrong.
So I got denied because because I don't care how a person identifies, it's their choice and doesn't harm me in anyway....i was excruciatingly clear that I support and respect all people right to be themselves period......honestly kind of a slap in the face. Guess I'm gung-ho enough or something
I tried joining this server but was kicked because of a similar reason to LNate93. I'm quite a neutral guy and just want everyone to get along no matter what sexuality or gender they identify as (which I clearly stated to the mods on this server) however got kicked because I'm neutral. I think this is unacceptable. Segregating people FROM A GAME just because they think differently to you is a form of discrimination and I won't tolerate it. I don't understand what the difficulty of letting people join a server to have fun playing D&D or other TTRPGs whilst making sure they're not gonna be too disruptive, just let them in and observe them and if they get reported for such behaviour then kick them. BUT DON'T DO IT WHEN YOU'VE NOT EVEN LET THEM IN YET!
I'd like to clarify that we are not a safe space for everyone and anyone, we're a safe space specifically for the lgbtqia+ community. Cishet people are welcome but are expected to be supportive allies. Because of our lgbtqia+ safe space goal, there are certain things that will be taken more seriously. Does that make sense?
So this is not a safe space for everyone. Just LGBTQIA+. That is clearly segregation towards heterosexuals. What happened to groups that just accepted anyone becasue they just wanted to enjoy the game. It's all elitest, ableist, discriminating bullcrap that I warn if anyone gets involved with you're either going to be kicked for being yourself or accepted and be part of a disgusting community that has no respect for anyone but their precious "safe space".
I had introduced myself and realized I wasnt logged into my discord account, I tried to log in again, and was ready to reintroduce myself, and was immediately kicked. I love seeing welcoming communities like this online, and was looking for some folks to get to know and play with.
For some background, I'm a bisexual dude who was looking for a good place to play some TTRPG's, mainly D&D. This was the first one I saw, so I joined it. Only after I joined it I discovered it was a safe place (their words not mine) for the LGBT+ (I can't remember the long acronym they put) community. I actually didn't mind. I don't mind gay people, big shocker there I know, and am fine with open and accepting communities... this isn't that.
When I joined, I entered the welcome hall. It's a place where mods need to approve of you before being allowed to see and access the full server. A bot messaged me there telling me what I need to do. I read the rules like it asked me to and then prepped my answers for the the automated questions. It asked me what I thought about this server being a safe place. I said I don't care, clarifying that I'm neutral on the matter. I just wanted to chat and play. It doesn't bother me, I feel it's completely fine, but my main focus in a TTRPG server is the TTRPG's.
I never got a response. In fact, I was left in welcome hall for roughly 8-10 hours. I literally went to sleep, woke up, and was still in the server with no response. I'm usually patient, I didn't mind it was taking this long, but the reason I bring it up is because, even after waiting all that time, I didn't get ANY response. Instead I was banned without a word and without reason.
I literally don't know what I did wrong? Was it my name? It's the same name I have here. I don't exactly see how it's offensive. I'm a furry, it references that in the most joking way possible. I was never asked to change it, so...? Was it me being neutral on the fact it was a safe place? Is being okay with members of the LGBT+ community not enough? I think everyone is equal, including everyone in said LGBT+ community. Is that ban-worthy levels of toxic behavior?
Well, it clearly was. I don't know what I did, but I clearly was a very hostile, possibly homophobic and transphobic person that had to be removed and made sure to be never allowed to come back... somehow.
This is not a tolerant community. There are people who think tolerance is treating minority groups better and more respectfully than the average Joe and creating an echo-chamber that only allows love for your group and support for your ideas and beliefs. It seems some of those people decided to become mods in this server. From what I've read and what I've experienced, both from this server and several other servers like it, I'd bet if you were a known cisgendered straight man and you told the mods you think the people in LGBT+ community are equal to you in every way, and deserve the same treatment and amount of respect, you'd be banned for homophobia, transphobia and probably a few other false reasons too. This server reminds me of the West Baptist Church, it has the same amount of proud intolerance and ignorance but it's just pro-gay instead. Nearly everything I've said can be applied to the West Baptist Church too, lol. The horseshoe theory really is interesting, isn't it?
I'd love to talk with a mod or someone there. My username is FoxNewds#6656. Go ahead, send me a friend request. I hope they're more open minded than they originally showed, as I'd love to discuss this situation with them, as well as possibly a few other things. Something tells me the mods don't want to discuss anything with anyone that doesn't 100% agree with them all the time though.
Maybe I was a bit too harsh, but you did screw up. You banned me without reason and without any chance to explain anything, which has reasonably made me quite annoyed and left a bad taste in my mouth. I'm a very tolerant person, people have literally called me too tolerant. I try my best to be understanding of even those most would view as intolerable, that's why I'm still extending my hand saying we can work together and discuss the problems, and I'd be more than willing to give this server a second chance if allowed.
I just... I don't understand... any of this. And other people seem to be in the same boat.
Dont join this group. i literally did what they requested, and was very kind, an they were absolutely snarky. plus im pretty sure they made the invite link no longer available. theyre not worth your time and there are much more better discord servers. they are obviously just another group of stupid SJW's who think everyone is trying to attack them. i went there to play DnD angot kicked for literally nothing. good job you guys, runnning a healthy server with only like 10-15 people in it.
I just want to say that I joined a few days ago, I followed the rules and wrote my introduction like I was told to when I joined. after a day I was banned, no warning, I thought everyone was welcome, apparently not. At least have the decency to tell people what they did wrong before banning them because I am confused. if I get a good reason ill accept it. if not have a nice day.

Interested in participating in playing DnD on your discord server.

Disgusting
Hey!

Thanks!
Yeah I just got kicked as soon as I joined I said I read the rules and that I support the server or whatever and they kicked me?
Edit: Nope I got banned apparently I didn't even get into the server yet and they banned me?
