Game style: Mystery, intrigue, exploration, roleplay.
This campaign will be a sort of experiment for me, as the self assigned goal for this game is to translate cyberpunk themes into high fantasy. Set inside of a homebrew world within the forgotten realms, I aim to run something a bit more narritively focused and thematic. My inspirations for this are literature like Nueromancer, The gernsback continuum, the girl who was plugged in, as well as games like citizen sleeper, cloudpunk, disco Elysium, and - of course - cyberpunk 2077.
The players' ultimate goal will be to solve the problem of a planet that seems to be becoming corrupted with undeath. I'm going to try to focus on mystery and intrigue, as well as emphasizing social and political relationships and how magic can affect them.
I'm (kinda) a beginner DM of just over a year, been playing for that same amount of time. I have my own way of doing things with the rules, I'm more relaxed with them than most and I see them as secondary to what makes sense or what is cool.
If you're interested reply with what you like most about this idea, what you would like to see in the campaign, and that you understand this is heavily homebrewed and non standard, and your discord username (I will DM you if I want to talk more, my username is yukitoru). Also we will be playing on DND beyond , using their map and character systems.
No set start date yet, waiting for players to plan a proper session 0.
Hey I'm really interested in the mystery of this campaign, I'd be really excited some kind of cosmic horror, I understand that it's homebrew and have no problems with it, my username is Valrick#9064
