PBP week-ender, DM posts Friday Saturday Sunday. Players may post anytime but week-ends are priority. Only playing through first of GoS set, geared toward continuation but may break between adventures and will open recruitment if necessary.
Character Name: Morgan Kaiden (Not comfortable giving my actual name so just call me D. or Kogun)
Species: Human
Background: Charlatan
Expected Classes: Rogue/Bard
Potential Subclass: Soulknife rogue/College of Lore bard
Stats roll twice, re-roll 1s once: Am fine with doing point-buy to prepare a character beforehand until we can do the rolls in-person
Brief Description: Morgan is a fairly slender elderly man whose weathered skin tells an ancient tale. He wears a set of ancient, patched-up robes that have gone out of style decades ago. At one point the robes might have looked exquisite and fashionable, but the battering of age and the numerous repairs have left them in a rather poor state. His long goatee extends all the way down to his chest, with even longer hair that reaches the center of his back.
Backstory include a trinket from the PHB:
Trinket: A silver spoon with an M engraved on the handle.
Backstory (At least until i know more about the plot): Morgan Kaiden is a man that has been everywhere, seen everything, and has learned everything there is to know in his home town of Longspear, and soon found his thirst for knowledge calling to him once more. And so, with nothing holding him back, Morgan made his way south-east along the Javen river until he arrived at his new destination, the coastal town of Saltmarsh. It was here that he hoped to finally learn the true nature of his heritage. His mother often told him that he was named after the great wizard, Mordenkainen, and that he was destined for great things. But just hearing stories wasn't enough for him, he needed to find definitive proof. When he arrived at Saltmarsh, he sought out a job on a ship as hired help to venture to places he would not be capable of traveling to by himself.
Even if he could not find a historian on his travels that could locate his family tree, boarding a ship would give him an adventure of a lifetime, providing him with an opportunity to learn new things regardless. That, above all else was most important to Morgan—as they say, knowledge is power, and his knowledge has gotten him out of many a sticky situation.
Questions for the DM: What level do we start at, are supplemental materials and legacy content such as Tasha's Cauldron and Mordenkainen Presents Monsters of the Multiverse and such allowed?
If selected starting level would be 1st level. This will be a Play-by-post on DDB mostly posting weekends. I have been allowing non-2024 material for character concepts, just create a submission I’ll Direct Message if I see an issue. Just for clarification this is not a discord or in person or zoom it’s a PBP.
Stats roll twice, re-roll 1s once- I would like to use Standard Array. I applied them to STR- 12, DEX- 13, CON- 14(+1 modifier makes it 15), INT- 10, WIS- 15(+2 modifier makes it 17), CHA- 8
Description and/or art- I have no idea how to insert an image in Beyond, sorry.
Backstory include a trinket from the PHB.- work in progress.
I would like to be part of the Traditionalists. The possible duty on board the ship would be a shipwright.
Sinister secrets…
