Hello, I'm trying to get involved in the world of D&D after a recent visit to comic con in which I found it sparked my interest and I'm ready to dive in! Please excuse my lack of knowledge if anything I mention is incorrect or out of place.
Game: D&D 5e
Group preferred: Online
Experience: New to D&D with exposure to RPG games, quick learner
Location/Timezone: Canada - EST Time Zone
Availability: Any Weekday after 4 PM EST, Weekends after 2 PM EST
Preferred role: Player
Game style: Looking for a casual roleplaying game as either part of a campaign - I've really wanted to try Phandelver and Below as many resources suggest its a great starting place but any campaign with the generic adventure style would be great as a start (nothing deeply complex). I would prefer to start at L1 to develop an idea for character creation and progression but I am fully open to the idea of a one-shot. Hoping to find a beginner friendly atmosphere with a group willing to explain some of the games intricacies. I have a copy of the PHB and continue to study it, might need help with character creation specifics.

Hello! My name is Leland, professional DM with over 25 years experience. I am currently recruiting for a paid game on Tuesday evenings that is a guided introduction to 5e (using the 2024 ruleset) We have one player already and need just 2 more to start. This is a mini campaign where there will be the option to continue on to the published campaign Curse of Strahd. It begins with a character creation session 0 where we go over in detail the process of building your character and introducing you to the rules as well as the virtual tabletop Foundry. It then will span a few sessions of "Death House" where the characters are investigating a mysterious mansion in order to help a pair of children rescue their baby brother from a monster! This mini campaign will contain connections to the larger story and after we will discuss if you would like to continue.
