Game: D&D 5e (2024) Group type: Online. Discord used for voice chat. DNDbeyond used for maps and character sheets. Experience: Open to newbies or experienced players. Location/Timezone: Eastern Time Zone (Buffalo, NY, USA) Schedule: Once play commences we will be alternating Fridays from 9 - 11 pm EST. Roles sought: Looking for 2 - 3 players 21+. We already have a wizard and a sorceror. Game style: There are a few key pieces about my DM style that you need to know. 1. I'm not into consistent dark, gritty, horror, or romance-based themes. I love creativity and will reward it. 2. Until I'm confident that we get along well and that you will fit in with the rest of the party already in existence, you are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to restrict yourself to the 2024 PHB for character creation. If you are looking for a little more freedom - we can talk.
The tone should stay PG-13: no NSFW material, nothing overly graphic, and limited horror elements (I’m fine with something like Curse of Strahd as long as it isn’t visually or descriptively intense). I value respect, consistency, and good humor, and I strive for an inclusive table where everyone is treated with dignity regardless of background or identity. I play to have fun, but I take the game and my fellow players seriously.
Roleplay/Exploration/Combat: I prefer sessions that flow naturally, with the content tailored to what fits the story that day—sometimes leaning more into exploration, sometimes into action. That said, I do enjoy regular combat. It keeps the energy up and gives everyone a chance to use their abilities tactically. For roleplay, I appreciate moments that enhance the story rather than dominating it—sessions that aren’t side-tracked by prolonged roleplay, and that keep the narrative moving forward.
You will be expected to roll your character stats in my discord channel. 4. We have time to get your characer built up and get a decent backstory written up that will allow for some use within the homebrewed scenario we will be moving around in.
Game: I've been slowly developing my own world over the last couple of years. We will probably start with some pre-existing stuff to make sure we fit together before moving over. This will be my first attempt at a 100% homebrewed scenario. My goal is to let the characters and players help drive the creation of the world and what schenanigans we might get up to.
RAW vs Homebrew. Rules will be 2024 5.5e, unless stated by DM. I do okay with homebrewed items (i.e weapons, gear, potions)) and infact I enjoy creating them for my players. Homebrewed races / classes etc are carefully curated by me and are only allowed after I know a player fairly well. Give me a map please. I work best in games that use visual, map-based combat. Purely narrative or “theater of the mind” combat styles aren’t my preference—I like having a clear grid or virtual map to plan movement and strategy.
Campaign Location. I’m an old school D&D girl. Plant me in Grayhawk, the Sword Coast, or someplace similar. I absolutely HATE Eberron and anything steampunk. I’m not a fan of firearms and metal constructs. A creative Artificer who can role play that their creations are magic/rune based and not mechanical works though.
Campaign Realism.I appreciate a campaign world that feels coherent and grounded—where the setting follows its own logic and player decisions carry real weight. I enjoy when practical elements like supplies, gear, and travel conditions matter enough to influence choices, but without turning every session into bookkeeping. If the group heads into the wild, preparation should make a difference, yet the focus stays on the adventure rather than constant inventory checks. I also recognize that rules take precedence over realism; if the official system allows something, we go by that rather than bending it for “real-world” logic.
Separating People from Characters. I enjoy talking about life—work, family, friends, health, challenges, and victories—but during game sessions, I like to leave all of that behind. Once the session starts, our focus is on our characters and the story we’re creating together. This helps keep the game enjoyable and respectful for everyone, even if we have different views outside the game.
I am interested and free on Fridays at that time. I am an experienced player and I can work with 5.5e no problem. Let me know if you are still looking for a player and I will DM you with my Discord info.
I'm interested. I have only played 3 sessions of DND. I usually play a ranger/rogue if needed. I am only available every other Friday due to work. Let me know if I could be apart of your sessions! Thanks!
My friend and I (21+)are interested if you have room for 2 players! Check my last post to look at details or add my discord for the rundown. We should fit well within your campaign as I am a seasoned 5e player and my friend is completely new. kitcheknife

I am interested in joining. I have a character idea of a Dragonborn Wild magic sorcerer.
