Hey I live in Adelaide's Northern suburbs and I've really wanted to find a D&D group to join for awhile now, only edition I know even a little about is 5e so that would be preferred. Would be great if there's any groups willing to help a newbie learn as well. Willing to learn, and get started asap.
Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online or in person Experience: Very little, Beginner Timezone: Adelaide ACST Schedule: Available afternoons and evenings Mon, Wed and Fri, also typically available afternoon/evening Saturdays and most of Sunday. Roles sought: Player Game style: Casual, fun, RP, really up for most things
Hi, myself and another friend (both from Melbourne) are looking for a group to play with to try and alleviate some lockdown blues, if anyone has some space in their groups please shoot me a message!!
Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Online Experience: New-ish (One campaign and a few one shots under our belts) Location/Timezone: Melbourne, Australia Availability: Literally whenever! Preferred role: Player Game style: Any!
I'm putting together a Tyranny of Dragons Campaign for Thursdays, looking for 4 players. Game details below, I'm not a big mechanics, RAW guy, rule of cool and narrative always take precedence with me. Newer players are preferred but open to all except DMs looking for a game to play in. No offense, I'm a DM who likes to play as a PC myself but it's just been my experience that when there are several people with DMing experience in a game you spend more time debating rules and mechanics than actually playing the game. My game's I'd describe as a casual playing experience in a serious setting. I know the Forgotten Realms history and lore well enough from playing the game and reading the novels since they started coming out in 1988, that I take some liberties with the written history in order to present a fleshed out world. Send me a message if you are interested.
Game Details:
Tyranny of Dragons, D&D 5e, Thursdays 9pm AEST, first session Sept 2nd
Roll 20 and voice on Discord, no fees
Start at Level 1 - it's a long campaign but no long term commitments or experience and knowledge about the setting are required.
Style: Nothing set in stone, the game opens up with a lot of combat then settles into a narrative - this module more than others requires players to engage with their environment and scenarios. So character driven choices and communication are vital. If your looking to just max out stats and wait until it's your turn in a combat sequence you will not enjoy this game. You start out as a member of one of 6 different organizations, I have some background elements prepared that you can choose from as part of your backstory or make your own but all players will be required to have a somewhat detailed backstory. I'm more than happy to help with character creation and story arcs. I will go off script often with extended sequences or change/add to what is detailed in the module to give it a more fleshed out experience. I view this as we are writing a story together, my job is to present the set and setting and adapt to your choices. I love new players, from my experience they are more engaged from the get go and willing to accept presented scenarios and react to them without worrying about if their charisma is high enough to multiclass Warlock. Flawed Characters make for the best experiences, the challenges will be, well, challenging and the tension will be real. It's a great game and Forgotten Realms is this ready made setting with thousands of years of written history and lore full of allies and antagonists. I look forward to hearing from you.
Game: D&D 5E, Pathfinder, Starfinder Group preferred: Online Experience: 12 months as a DM (COVID-19 Yay!) for the family. (DM'd for the kids and wife - What an eye opener an 8yo playing as an angry dwarf is.....) Location/Timezone: Melbourne Availability: Nights, prefer M-F. Preferred role: Player Game style: RP, story, combat, I enjoy it all, love puzzle solving.
I’m just testing the waters to see if there is any interest out there for a D&D game for a group of older players who are parents or professionals or both like myself, playing roughly fortnightly-ish with some flexibility and understanding because kids and RL.
Sessions would be online via discord voice+video with simple support thru DnDBeyond and owlbear rodeo. Running 3 hours (no longer) on Sunday afternoons (could do Saturdays but ppl often have things on). I find online is a bit easier timewise because no one has to commute. Also means people in other states (especially locked down ones) can play. For reference, I’m in Adelaide.
My approach would be to run a single adventure, probably lasting 2-5 sessions. At that point, the group could discuss whether to continue to ‘season 2’ or call it done. No pressure or expectations of a 1-20 grand campaign.
Preferably looking for 3-4 people who are a) already familiar with the game, (it’s simply less work for me when I don’t have to teach beginners) and b) are a bit older, just so everyone is on the same wavelength socially and understanding RL commitments. A bit of gender balance would be nice too, but we’ll see who is interested.
Anyone out there who thinks this would be their sort of thing? If you are, contact me via Private Message in DnDBeyond to let me know your interest, and we can chat.

Hey Yendoroz, we are 2 players based in Brisbane who would be very interested in joining your campaign. One would play a spellcaster (wizard, I think), the other one only knows that she wants to play a kobold. Would that be okay for you? We are experienced players and have just arrived in Brisbane, looking for an online group.
