Player in Sydney here, been needing a game for a while since everything got cancelled by the pandemic and my previous DM has suspended our current campaign. Hit me up in PMs if you have any room for me, I usually play monster races if that could be a problem. Time isn't usually a problem, only day that is a hard no is Wednesday.
Looking for 4 players for a Dungeon’s of Drakkenheim setting campaign.
Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online (Discord voice, Roll20) Experience: Any level of experience welcome as long as you’re willing to invest into the campaign Timezone: Australian Central Standard Time Schedule: No set time of play as I’m a shift worker, try and do session once a fortnight around the weekend, in the afternoon/evening, there’ll be the occasion time when we may not play for more than two weeks Roles sought: 4 players Game style: I’ll try to strike a balance between combat, exploration and role-play, although some sessions may dip more one way than the others
Hello all, as stated above I’m looking for four players to join a Dungeons of Drakkenheim based campaign, for those that don’t know it’s a dark fantasy setting set in the post-apocalyptic ruins of medieval city being fought over by different factions, for a point of reference either google the Dungeon’s of Drakkenheim, or look up Mordheim from Warhammer for an idea of what to expect.
There are content warnings for this module:
Violence, murder, blood, gore, cannibalism, and body horror.
Degenerative mutations that cause physical disfigurement and madness/insanity.
Rats, spiders, insects, demons, undead, ghosts, and other monsters.
Natural disasters, large-scale loss of life, civil war, displaced persons, and refugees.
Moral ambiguity, social/political manipulation, religious zealotry and military nationalism.
So please just consider your comfort with these before committing, and be aware that I fully expect this campaign to all fall into the normal silliness and shenanigans that D&D brings out.
Quick word about me, I’m a 22 white fella living in Broken Hill (NSW) although I’m originally from Newcastle, I’ve been playing 5th Edition since 2019 and have been intermittently DMing since then. Like I said above I’m a shift worker so I can’t commit to any specific time slots for play each week, I’ll do my best to make sure we do sessions once a fortnight or twice a month when the shift work starts to interfere, like I said above I’ll normally aim to do it on the weekend, but if there’s a better times lot for the group I’m happy either way.
In regards to anyone who decides they want to play, all I ask is that you be willing to invest into the game by learning your character and getting a basic understanding of the setting. As for the gameplay all offical WoTC content is available in addition to the content from the Grim Hollow Player’s Guide, I’d prefer to steer away from home-brew for now, but if a players got an idea that’s worth it then something can be arranged.
If you’re interested shoot me a message and we can start planning out a session zero and characters.
Hello everyone. First of all I'm not actually from Australia - but I am a DM. I'm opening a new table and I believe my time zone (GMT -3) might be a good fit for some people looking for a game here, since I'm planning games for the morning.
It's a Baldur's Gate: Descent Into Avernus campaign starting tomorrow 9 AM GMT -3 (which should be around 7-9 PM for a lot of time zones around Australia). Plans are for games to run weekly at this same day/time.
I'm a new player in Melbourne looking to get my feet slightly wet in DnD. :)
Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Either Experience: New Location/Timezone: Melbourne (AEST/AEDT when applicable) (City/ SE Suburbs) Availability: Mainly available on Saturday nights/Sunday, but I'm somewhat flexible. (I work full time, and am also working towards a postgrad qualification) Preferred role: Player Game style: I'm more of a casual player - I RP a little when the need arises, but my main aim is just to have fun!
Returning to D&D after a break of many years, would love to join some local sessions if possible.
Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: either Experience: New (to 5e) Location/Timezone: AEST/AEDT Availability: Weekday evenings, weekends occationally. Preferred role: Player Game style: Casual, RP.
I was hoping to be able to find a group as a player, I have been playing since I started playing basic when I was 16 up to 27 but with a large break until I found a group for 5e two years back, I am now 50, and believe I am a good role player, I live in Melbourne but travel frequently overseas to se family hence I am looking for an online group, my only down falll is I am not great with online systems (discord etc).
Anyway I hope as a community I might be able to find a group in here that is looking for a player online.

Hello there Australian in Victoria, Melbourne South East - the Mornington Peninsula Area near Frankston South looking for D&D friends that are local as I moved from NSW and thus my D&D groups are located mostly in NSW still. I'm a kindhearted 28 male (they/them), that wants to make local friends with the potential to do in-person games when suitable. Critical Role Fan and I own all the Sourcebooks on dndbeyond.
Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online (Discord voice, Roll20 or Foundry) - I would also be happy to play in person however I need to get a victorian driving license Experience: 3 years of playing and GMing twice a week Location/Timezone: Australian Eastern Standard Time, Victoria Frankston South Schedule: I'm a night owl so I don't like morning sessions, I'm not available on Tuesdays but all other days I can shift around. Preferred role: Player, I'm already committed to two campaigns as a GM - but I could be one if needed. Game style: very much a theatre kid, I love the social rp aspects as an actor that can get immersed in the role and world. I enjoy quick combat and emotional scenes.
Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: In Person Experience: A bit of 2e as a kid, a handful of 5e one shots before covid locked everything down. Location/Timezone: AEST Melbourne NW suburbs but happy to travel if it means getting into a game. Availability: 24/7 ATM Preferred role: Player Game style: Would like a dedicated once a week group, a balance between RP and Combat
Re-posting due to change of availability and circumstances
Hi, really keen to get a regular weekly, weekday evenings group as a player. Details below.
Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Online Voice + Roll20 (happy to learn any VTT but experienced with roll20) Experience: Played 2E for a few years, played 3.5E for a 6 months. Have been playing 5E for about 2 years. Have 9 months DM experience. Location/Timezone: AEST (sydney area) Availability: Mon-Thu, evenings preferred. Preferred role: Player, but I can DM so long as we swap roles back to player. Been DM'ing for about 9 months. Game style: Would like a dedicated once a week group, a balance between RP and Combat A bit about me: NSW, late 40's, male, Played many classes as a player and even more as a DM in 5e. I also own all source books on dndbeyond. Prefer to play in an 18+ only group.
Would like to talk to DM before wanting to join to see what kind of group it would be and if I would fit in. Would be willing to play almost anything, I love Casters and Healers but would be cool to try out some warrior style classes, only tried one for a short period (every group I am in seem to already have them, so I end up playing something else). But I like to play a class that is needed, regardless of what it may be.
Favorite classes so far as a player; Wizard, Druid, Ranger, Cleric. Currently playing a warlock at lv4, and a Wizard lv2/Warlock lv3 (will continue the rest in wizard for this one).
Discord ID: dakka#7259 (Will need to add me as friend before we can talk...sorry for the inconvenience. Its to prevent spammers)
Bit of a long shot but! If anyone is in the Newcastle/Hunter Valley area, I'm looking to rustle up interest in some IRL meet ups for a local game store that's trying to get started on regular D&D sessions. Lemme do the skeleton I guess haha.
Note: this store is actively LGBTQIA+ inclusive.
Game: D&D 5e Group type: Face to face, public meeting place Experience: at least DM of 6+ years Location/Timezone: Newcastle/Hunter Valley (more specific location on private request) Schedule: current plan is Sat/Sun after 11am Roles sought: Both are welcome! Game style: No set style has been established as no group has been formed. So far the post has been focused on introducing new people to the hobby, so don't worry about your level of knowledge!
Hey folks! I moved to the city last year from Geelong and have been sorely missing my usual regular D&D sessions. I would prefer a face-to-face campaign in the city, I'm in Southbank but willing to travel ~40mins for a fun group :)
Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Face-to-face Experience: ~6 years of 5e on and off Location/Timezone: Melbourne, Australia Availability: Ideally weekday nights, happy with weekly but fortnightly is ideal. Preferred role: Player Game style: Would love a bit of RP, but also a fun, friendly group :)
Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Online Experience: 6+ Location/Timezone: Western Australia, GMT +8 Availability: Every night after 6pm. Preferred role: Player Game style: Casual games more focused toward RP
Hi!
I've been DMing for the last 6 - 7 years but need to take a break and sit on the opposite side of the screen, ideally with a group focused on RP. I'd LOVE to find an ongoing long term group of friendly, inclusive, and supportive players that are 18+ and is in it to have fun. I can use DnD Beyond (duh!), Roll20, and Discord but I'm excited to learn anything else you may use!
A DM's work load can get intense (the struggle is real y'all!) so I'm absolutely happy to help out and run the odd one shot or mini campaign (3 - 5 session adventure) here and there so everyone gets the opportunity to be a part of the fun from every angle!
Please. feel free to send me a message or comment below.
In a similar boat but on the east coast. Happy to play 3-4 hour sessions through the week (except Wednesday night). Happy to DM but also just as happy to play.
I'm interested in joining you, Nox333, on anything that can be organised for that group. I used DnD Beyond and Zoom. Happy to try other systems with appropriate instruction.
Game:D&D 5e Group preferred: Online Experience: 3+ Location/Timezone: Sydney Eastern Australia, GMT +10 Availability: Mon, Tues or Thurs after 7 pm. Preferred role: Player or DM Game style: Campaign more focused on RP
Looking for an 18+ online game. Happy to play 3+hour sessions. I have only participated in IRL games but our DM moved cities and things just haven't worked out since.
Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online (happy to try whatever platform) Experience: Pretty new 1+ years Location/Timezone: Queensland Schedule: Pretty flexible most nights and weekends. Also have every second Friday and Monday off so can play while kids are at school. Roles sought: Player (not enough skill to DM) Game style: Looking for some RPG style and open to homebrew oneshots or campaigns.
Hi everyone, I'm posting on this thread because it seems easier to find a group that have closer time zone. I've tried playing in my native language but it felt like something was missing. So, I'm looking for a group to play using English.
Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Online Experience: 3 months Location/Timezone: Bangkok Thailand, GMT +7 Availability: Tue, Wed, Fri, Sat, Sun after 6 pm. Preferred role: Player Game style: Campaign RP focused style. happy with either oneshots or long campaigns
We are pretty much completely new players, been wanting to play for a while, but can never get friends reliably enough to do any more regularly than a session or so then can't get the full group often enough to continue, based in Campbelltown area NSW but happy to learn to do it online.
Looking for a DM open to have possibky a smaller grouo and give us a proper intro into it and run a campaign with us, but open to do a one shot or something if you'd prefer to start us on that.
Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Online preferably. Experience: 1 year 5e, 2 years 1e. Location/Timezone: Sydney Availability: Monday to Friday after 6. Preferred role: Player Game style: Mix of RP and adventure.
