Hey guys! I would like to join a D&D game online but cannot find anything other than roll20. Do you know where I can do this? Or is anyone willing to host a game using google hangouts and D&DBeyond sheets, content, etc.?
Public Mod Note
(Stormknight):
moved from General to LFG
There are a whole host of things you could do. You could use the twitch extension here on beyond. You could use google hangouts as you said. You could use discord with either posted screen shots of dungeons, theatre of the mind, or something like white board or roll20 free to free hand draw your maps on the go. You could give Astral (probably spelled wrong) which is similar to roll20 you can find it on Drivethrurpg.com. You could use Fantasy Grounds purchased software or wait for their Unity program in a few months. You could try Table Top Simulator TTS on Steam ( I haven't used that so don't know how difficult the learning curve is.)
The real issue you have is the need for a community of Dm's and Players to draw from or find games. You can check and post in the forums here. Join a discord community (they often advertise here.). Use other D&D or Gaming forums. Go to a local game shop.
Hope that helps, I know it can be difficult starting out to find a group you mesh with. Be patient, give it some time.
