I keep looking thinking I am missing something because the Compendium says it contains "All the basic rules from the SRD" but there are no descriptions of the races or classes... Even those that are limited to the SRD.
Will the compendium include class write-ups? It would be nice to be able to look up class features like wild shape or bardic inspiration without needing to go make a character.
Absolutely will include races, classes, backgrounds, feats, etc. - we will literally have all the content when we launch.
Thanks!
Check out the link to developer quotes in my signature if you have time, there's a mixture of info there as to what will be added and when.
GC: How will official Unearthed Arcana and homebrew content interact with D&D Beyond?
AB: We can’t share anything concerning our approach to playtest material yet, but homebrew creation and management is something D&D Beyond will absolutely support. Players and Dungeon Masters will be able to create original content that can then be viewed and used across the site - the listings, inside the character builder, and in play at the table. We will also include the ability to make that homebrew content public where it can be shared to others in the community. The focus is to not only let players document their homebrew creations, but to also use that content in the toolset.
So far so good! I have been using the beta just to see if it helps speed things up and it has! When will the character sheet become available? Looking forward to seeing how that turns out...

I am really impressed with this so far. I am currently running a weekly game and having this on my tablet is really helpful. Very nice to quickly sort and filter on the fly. Keep up the great work !
Very handy for running the pre-gen campaigns out of the books so i dont have to keep flipping through MM.

Hey Mihale_Stormwarden,
The races are most likely going to be added to the Compendium when Phase 2 of the beta begins.

My homebrew: [Subclasses] [Races] [Feats] [Discussion Thread]
The best D&D interface yet in my opinion. I can't wait to see how the homebrew can be incorporated in sessions.

This is an incredibly useful source-- will there be any implementation of monsters and/or items from older editions?

A dwarf with a canoe on his back? What could go wrong?
Sounds great, thanks
I would love to see the original versions of magic items, like Icingdeath, how it ate heat instead of dealing cold damage!
This is a great thing you are doing.
This is awesome is there plans to incorporate an offline option it is also pretty responsive to mobile devices which is nice.

Do we have any idea of when phase 2 will start so that we can download it to our apps and start testing it out?
Thanks,
