I know. But I was saying you wouldn't see any UA on a Sorcerer today (November 16) because everything was archived today. The only two classes you would see UA on right now are Monk and Ranger, since they are the only two classes with UA subclasses still in testing.
Thank you Sorce for confirming! Been a few months since we've created 3 UA characters (1 in my campaign, 2 in another) and our collective memories were off on this.
I totally get the whole WoTC thing as I mentioned in a previous post to TieBoqui.
I am actually in an IT leadership role and speak with our 3rd Party Management team monthly on one topic or another.
It’s just two spells to homebrew. Should take less than 20 minutes total. If you need help just ask.
Just two spells? I think for my daughter's character it was 13 spells, 5 feats and 6 tattoos that were both appropriate for her class and she showed some interest in.
Thanks for the offer to help! For her everything is already updated digitally.
For the two other UA characters (Way of Mercy Monk and Circle of the Stars Druid) they use the digital character sheets for some things but like using paper also so their impacted items have been converted to feat cards last weekend.
What is the easiest way to convert a character that is currently using an archived UA subclass (e.g., Cleric Twilight Domain) to the equivalent Tasha's subsclass, particularly if it is a multiclass character whose starting subclass is the one being converted?

It should be a rather simple process! Go into the Character Builder for that character, and under the Class section go down to the section you choose your subclass. As long as you have access to the Twilight Domain (either having purchased Tashas, buying that specific subclass, or having the content shared with you) then you can repick your subclass from the UA you are using to the Twilight Domain. From there you might need to repick some options in the Class section, depending on what has changed, but everything should update and nothing outside of the subclass changes will be altered.
If you are getting the content through Content Sharing, make sure this character is in the campaign with the Content Sharing turned on first before you make the edit to make things easier.
Why archive stuff? If I'm paying for a subscription to have access to this material. I attempted to make a character and I have no access than WHY HAVE A SUBSCRIPTION? All material to subscribers we need to have access in the character creator, thats what we pay for....if not than you should give people refunds for failing at providing the community what they paid for...
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Easy lay back guy, 48 year old with 36 years experience in role playing, dnd i started back in Basic when monks hands were considered silver weapons lol, played 3.5, attempted 4 but i felt it was to much like a video game so stopped, now i hear great things for dnd 5E so here and I want to join a few games :)

Subscriptions do not provide access to content. Additionally, Unearthed Arcana is content provided free as long as it is in active play test, per D&D Beyond's arrangement with Wizards of the Coast to provide said material.
If you have already playtest material to your character that has since been archived, no content will be removed from your character sheet that would prevent it from working.
Okay so again why Achieved subclasses that can still be used ? i bought certain books to have access to things like the hexblade and so on? which are part of the Riveca/shadow fell which is canon. if its not been made obsolete why remove it ? since tons of us still use it still as players and GMs? and in campaigns like my current game i'm in one campaign and I wanted to make 1 or 2 more warlocks that were hexblades which i can not because you guys archived it? which is not only UA material. I subscribe to have access to all this from My GM and purchase material for myself and my game that I run, if we have no access to the material anymore why do we as players need to bother with your site if we could just buy the PDF and share it with our players to run games, this choice is poor it takes money away from your company again its a poor choice because you guys didnt think of the ramifications. It also upsets me i'm still waiting for mythic odyssey's of theors information to be up and its not on the character generator?

There seems to be a lot of stuff in this message, so I'm going to break it down to hopefully clearly address everything:

Archived content cannot be used to make new characters, which is part of the agreement with Wizards of the Coast regarding Unearthed Arcana (playtest material, aka UA). However, D&D Beyond doesn't want to break existing characters, hence why the archived material is still usable on existing characters. You can also, for the most part, use the homebrew tools to reproduce UA material for personal use only.

UA material is not paid content and no paid content is being archived. This includes the hexblade which is completely unaffected and unrelated to this. If you have accessed something through a paid product such as Xanathar's Guide to Everything, it will not be archived as it is not Unearthed Arcana material.

There are no PDFs of officially published D&D content you can purchase. If you're referring to the Unearthed Arcana pdfs, those are free and you can, if you wish, use them to enter the archived content into the homebrew system (for personal use only)
this choice is poor it takes money away from your company again its a poor choice because you guys didnt think of the ramifications.
Again, no paid content is being archived, only free Unearthed Arcana playtest material that has been either officially released or discontinued from development.

It depends on what information you're referring to; all the default character options such as races (leonin and satyr) and subclasses (oath of glory and college of eloquence) have been added to the character builder. However, for things like supernatural gifts and the like, that's waiting on the General Features System; a big undertaking that should enable a lot of 'snowflake rules' as Adam refers to them.
