"Hm, still no sign of that tree, or it´s guardians, we´ll just have to venture inside. Would you prefer to scout ahead Daerryl, or should we stick together in case we encounter more adversaries?"
"It seems dark in there, do any of you gentlemen have a lightsource I can carry? I realize I didn´t prepare properly for this trek"
"What are you looking at Raadox?"Selene tries the help action to give Raadox advantage on his investigation check.
"Thanks for the assistance, milady," Raadox thanks Selene as she helps him out. Once they have finished their investigation of the pit, Raadox will take a torch and tinderbox out of his backpack. Carefully striking the tinder and lighting it he will hand it over to Selene. "Will you carry a torch for me?" he asks with a slightly cheeky grin on his face.
"Well, in it´s literal sense I can, but I would much prefer something more sophisticated...like a lantern."Another tricksy smile.
Selene takes the torch and follows the others further inside the citadel, trying to give them the lighting they need, carefully watching the corners of each room they enter.
Kiori looks at Raadox incredously, that wound seems serious, but would take the elf's word that it's nothing. After Radox lights a torch, he would take one out of his own backpack and ignite it too "an extra torch may help us see better." He walks last in line, keeping an eye out for anything that may be following them.
Daerryl make me a perception check. Are you just looking around the courtyard or around the outside of the citadel or entering the rest of the citadel?
Raadox - Looking around the small courtyard ahead you find what appears to be a hidden pit meant to trap people. You aren't sure how it works (need another investigation check)
Selene - You don't notice anything special
Just looking around the area outside the tower. 21 perception
As Daerryl takes a look around the tower, you don't notice anything out of the ordinary. Checking over the trap Raadox found, you can see the corpses of three goblins down there and a giant rat gnawing on their bones.
As you enter the tower you find yourselves in a small chamber. This circular area is cobbled with cracked granite, upon which sprawl the bodies of four goblins, apparently slain in combat. One corpse stands with its back against the western wall, the spear that killed it still skewering it and holding it upright. Three wooden doors lead from this area. A hollow tower of loose masonry reaches thirty feet into the air, but the intervening floors and stairs are gone, except for a couple of crumbled ledges. Kiori, you notice a secret door leading to area 5. Next to it you see a lever that appears to be able to be pushed in on the left or pulled out from the right.
"Secret door, did you say, Kiori? That sounds interesting! Let's have a look..." Raadox will check the door over for traps, runes, or anything interesting. "And a lever which probably opens it - or is a cunning trap"
Hmmm, these places can be dangerous. Slowly, slowly Raadox.
After telling the group about the secret door he found, Kiori takes a step back, letting Raadox examine it for traps "who do you think killed the goblins?".
Raadox, you begin to slowly work the lever and pull it out, you see a large needle begin to extend towards you.
As the rest of you look at the goblin corpses you see behind the goblin that was pinned to the wall, some draconic runes. Selene you recognize them as draconic and they read, "Ashardalon."
After telling the group about the secret door he found, Kiori takes a step back, letting Raadox examine it for traps "who do you think killed the goblins?".
(Daerryl’s new color since three of us picked friggin green lol)
”I’d assume that this could be the work of the people I am attempting to rescue. They were supposedly well prepared for such events.”
Kiori tries to remember if he has heard the name Ashardalon anywhere (History check: 15). He would share any information he knows with the rest of the group.
"This lever looks trapped. I'm not convinced I want to pull it as I think I might get a sharp prick with a thin needle. Anyone else want to take the risk? Someone with big hefty gauntlets on for example? I don't have the skills to disarm this."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Hearing Raadox warning, Kiori approaches the lever "let me try". He takes a rope out of his backpack and carefully ties one end to the lever (Sleight of Hand: 3) takes two steps back and pulls on the rope to move the lever.
"I suppose the draconic runes could be the work of that dragon cult you heard of Kiori. If it is the actual cult of the dragon they may even be planning to turn this Ashardalon into a dracolich should they find it´s remains"
When Kiori starts pulling his rope Selene takes cover behind the goliath "Be careful Kiori"

Raadox will happily stand second in line, after Daerryl. If the gnome heads off ahead a bit, scouting, he will happily lead the rest of the "pack".

Daerryl notices the bodies and draws swords.
“You never know when there might be more of the little buggers. Goblins, I mean. Someone pick a door, I’ll trust your judgement.”

You recognize the name Kioiri from the bartender back in town. Ages past this dragon ravaged the land and created the desolate plain nearby.
