I'm sorry, I forgot to mention that I have special rules when it comes to rolling dice: You cannot roll any higher than 16 or any lower than 8. This is to prevent from anyone starting at level 1 with a +5 ability modifier while also protecting them from getting stuck with a super low one. If you roll higher than 16/lower than 8, you round down/up to 16 or 8, respectively. You can still increase the number higher than 16 using racial ability scores or ASIs associated with feats at 1st level, to a max of 18.
If you roll multiple negatives I typically allow people to raise at least one of them to a 10. If you do not like your rolls, you can default to point buy or standard array.

I have interest in the following: protector aasimar barbarian (likely redundant with an echo knight and blood hunter), lotusden halfling ranger, lotusden halfling monk (also redundant?), pallid elf grave cleric, or a tabaxi fathomless warlock.
If you really want to go Monk or Barbarian I would be more than fine going Wizard (specially since the Echo Knight only comes around by lvl 3). That said as a Warlock you could be the face of the party.
I think the Artificer brings more support to the party while the Gunslinger brings more damage from lvl 1. That said I could see the Artificer overlapping some potential overlap with a Forge Domain and a Wizard. If the Blood Hunter is Str-based and we don't have a Rogue then a Gunslinger would be our best option for dex-checks.
I'll be posting a Roll20 link in the campaign soon. If you are not familiar, it'll basically just be to keep track of our positions in combat. It is free to make an account if you do not have one and pretty straightforward to use.

Also, for getting equipment, you can use your class' starting equipment or you can roll for class gold and spend that on basic equipment, no magic stuff.

Haha I mean both classes are pretty good, plus they mesh well so multiclassing the two is a good option. If you’re planning on the multi class I would personally get the 3 levels in fighter first and then do artificer.

Alright, to get the ball rolling with connecting characters, I'll throw out some of the basics for my character to hopefully inspire some hooks.
Finnegan (Finn) Taggert Human Cleric (Peace Domain) Finn is a cleric of Erathis who is travelling from Rexxentrum to Hupperdook following vague visions that he should make his way to the gnomish city. He would likely join up with a small caravan or travelling party for this journey for safety/protection.
Ambre Rotz was born and raised in Hupperduke, the oldest daughter of a Blacksmith (her father) and a priestess of Moradin (her mother). Ambre is a skill blacksmith, not quite as skilled as her father, but works hard every day to one day reach his level.
One of the hooks I was going to offer is that you all were part of a caravan headed to Hupperdook, since the adventure technically starts right as you're arriving. So it is convenient you bring that up @Dreak.

I like this start. It's an absolutely believable coincidence that the characters are making their journey together and escorting jobs were always common in medieval times. If the war is already raging then it makes even more sense for there to be a escort (by the way, is the war we see in the show going on already?).
Yes; the book states that the Wildemount guide “takes place” around episode 50 of Campaign 2, while the group is on their underground journey into Xhorhas. So the war is well on at the moment.
The Kryn still hold Ashguard Garrison on the border between the nations, and Felderwin was recently raided by Dynasty forces.

I think I am going to go Rogue as the stats I rolled are pretty shit and about the only good thing he will have going for him is his Dex.
melee or ranged? I’m going to switch to either ranger or monk I think. I’m the face in the other group I play with and would rather not double duty face.

Thank you for the invite and I am thoroughly looking forward to this.
Well I was thinking either Rogue or Sorc/Wizard type.....let me contemplate it a bit and then I will make my rolls in a PM back to you Owl.

Will your build be dex or str based?

If you take the Rogue I take the Wizard.
I'll build two different version of my character and make my final decision when I see what everyone else is doing
Elra Skylash - Human Cleric | Vanzaren Tanidoni - Half Elf Wizard
Mindartis Liadon - Eladrin Barbarian | Naivara Siannodel - Half Elf Ranger
Arrila Evenwood - Half Elf Paladin | Callaphe of Setessa - Human Rogue
Katernin Nemetsk - Aasimar Cleric | Melody - Tiefling Bard
I'll be going with a strength based build.
Gronk in Bastion, Kingdom of Medrin Elixisys in Talaveroth (Team 2) Uthal in Lost Continent of Theviranne
I'll be going peace domain, so no worries about overlap with artificer from me.
Ryndar Shadowsbane - Lvl 3 Eldarin Fighter | Kassar - Lvl 2 Lizardfolk Druid (Circle of Stars) | Finnegan (Finn) Taggert - Lvl 1 Human Cleric (Peace Domain) |
Verdan Schmidt - Lvl 2 Half-Elf Bard | Grithik - Lvl 5 Deep Gnome Warlock (Celestial)
thanks for telling me! but i think i'm going to go with fighter with maybe a dip into artificer later on.
