Blissfully unaware that undead are approaching, Vicelor pulls his yew wand out of its thin pouch and begins drawing in the dirt between his scaly feet. He knows enough to be silent, but a simple melody dances around in his mind as he waits.
If Morgid's words were mainly directed at Nimruil, the Drow readily nodded in agreement. "And that's why I am very, very, VERY glad you're here, Morgrid." He then glances between Grum and Vicelor once or twice before settling on the bigger guy. "You too, of course. But don't worry. Like I've said before I believe, I'll have you covered in turn." He winks at Grum, then looks to the muck they yet had to drudge through with a grimace. But he soldiers on after the rest, if only to avoid being left behind at this point.
Much sweat and time later, Nimruil whispers to Grum and Mordrid. "Gonna make myself a bit scarce over yonder, and suggest ye both do the same. Who or whatever that is not likely to be a friend, I imagine. So, best to go around them, yes?" He waits not for answer before ducking behind a tree just close enough to maybe catch a response.Unless the remaining pair decide to engage however, he is content to let the walkers pass or sneak around them if at all possible.

Grum points at the trees in the distance: "Undeads right ahead, Vicelor. I suggest also hiding and going around, we will loose less time and health. Remember we are on a time sensitive mission"

Morgid stealth 15
Grum loudly tries to hide but thankfully it mostly sounds like a branch falling. Everyone else takes cover and the undead seem to not have noticed you. After a few minutes you are able to keep moving and continue heading towards where you think the bluffs are. After another few hours (Around 2pm now), you spy a shaded thicket of withered mangrove trees draped in a sickly veil of rotted kudzu and creeper vines. A moldering wooden raft topped with a single withered post floats near the center of this dark and lonely copse. A gaunt form clings lifelessly to the bottom of the post, recognizable as the weathered skeletal remains of a Dwendalian soldier.
"Sorry Sap, that one. Seems he didn't get the Morgid pep talk before enter this place." Nimruil says lightheartedly. "I'm no expert on these sort of things, so take what I next say with a grain of salt. But, I wager he wouldn't have much on him that we can take at this point. That, and clearly been dead for way longer than our missing friend has been, well, missing. But, if you lot think he's got something worth salvaging, I'll follow your lead. Otherwise, best we keep going." He comments and casually gestures in some random direction off to the side.

A raft "floats" in the center of a group of trees? In mid air or in the branches? Or is it actually on the ground, and "float" is used poetically?
Vicelor stops abruptly as Morgid and Grum cease their march before him. Patience running out only after about half a second, the kobold leans to the side to look around the legs in front of him. "What's going on?" he grumbles, managing to speak somewhat quietly. His glowing orange eyes turn up toward the drow in the rear as Nimruil's gums flap once again. But his words do pique Vicelor's curiosity, so he stomps up to stand beside their guide to get a better look. When he beholds the strange sight, the small creature narrows his gaze and whispers a request to the forest spirits for understanding.
What's going on here? Perception: 22, disadvantage if either the scene or Vicelor is in direct sunlight: 18, guidance: 2
"Maybe we can inspect this quickly. Who know, we might find some interesting things".Grum attaches his morningstar to his belt and approaches the raft, looking for any signs of danger. Perception: 2 Investigation: 7
Nimruil smiles and nods to Grum. But, if approaching the raft might involve full on swimming, then he only gets so close before hanging back a ways and having his bow at least out. The Drow at that point alternates between keeping a look out on Grum and the general surroundings, humming a soft tune to himself, if only to keep the nerves more steady. "If you see any papers on his person, worn though it may be, do be sure to grab that as well, my hairy friend."

(The raft is floating on the water you are trudging through, you would guess the water is a bit deeper in this clearing.)
Grum you see nothing out of the ordinary as approach the raft.
Vicelor and Nimruil, you notice too late as Grum steps forward that in the area around the raft, there are dozens of snakes in the roots of the trees around the clearing. As soon as Grum steps close to them, the swarm slithers out hungry for a snack
(To DM: Assuming you don't mind slight posting out of order..)
Nimruil had to do a double take just to be sure before calling out in warning, "My friend! It seems the local wild life wants a piece of you! Look about! But I'm sure you got this!" The warning given alongside some encouragement, Nim then nervously looks about trying to find a bit more high ground before loosing a shot. Yet finding none besides the boat, as he now feared more snakes might yet still lurk among the trees, the Drow awkwardly calls out mockingly to the swarm amassing upon Grum, "H-hey! U-uh... What's 1+1? Ah! I guess you wouldn't know not being Adders!"
Bonus Action: Grant Bardic Inspiration(d6) to Grum. (BI: 2 of 3 remaining)
Action: Cast Vicious Mockery on Snake Swarm. Wis Save[DC 13] or they take 3 Psychic damage, and have disadvantage on their next attack.

"Idiot!" Vicelor yells at Grum. "Look out!" The kobold steps up to 10 feet from the approaching snake and waves his wand at it while hissing a short phrase in Druidic. A mist of green droplets issue from the tip of his wand at the snake. His act done, the green-scaled creature backpedals as far as he can.
Movement: Far enough forward to be 10 feet from the snake
Action: DC12 CON save or receive 1 poison damage
Movement: Use the remainder of his 30 feet to move away from the snake.
