Lore: Magic has just been discovered. It's improved people's lives...… but could it destroy their lives as well?
This is a campaign where magic is just being discovered. Make a level one character. Use the following rules for character creation: Rules:
No UA.
No homebrew.
No Eberron, Magic the Gathering, or Critical Role content.
No artificer or blood hunter.
No firearms.
Explain how and why you became whatever class you are in your backstory.
You cannot use custom lineage, unless you give me a good reason to do that.
If anyone is playing or multiclassing into paladin, you MUST follow the tenets of your oath. Example: You cannot play an Oath of Redemption paladin that uses violence as a regular thing without any reason. If something like that happens, I might have to discuss this with the player in a PM about their oath being broken.
With any subclass that that requires some kind of specific actions or ideals, and any player chooses that subclass, if they are concerned, they can PM me and explain why and I might make an exception, but I will need a reason why your character chose that subclass.
Any racial perquisites for subclasses are removed.
The Circle of Hedgehogs Druid Beholder/Animated Armor Level -20 Bardof the OIADSB Cult, here are our rules.Sig.Also a sauce council member, but it's been dead for a while.

Personality: outgoing, friendly, curious
Backstory: Esmar is a curious, easy going elf. He's spent the last few years of his life just traveling around the world seeing the sights, and enjoying what life has to offer, which is seemingly endless. Traveling around has offered some really interesting opportunities as well. Like the time he got the meet the king and queen of a small island! Or the time he was almost kidnapped by that same king and queen... Most interesting though was the small quartz ring he found in the room where he'd been locked. Putting it on his Finger Esmar suddenly heard a rather jovial voice in his head asking about his travels. Turns out the voice actually offered to help him escape if he simply took it with him while on the road. Happy to have the company, and rather curious about this being in the ring Esmar readily agreed (it also seemed rather fortuitous and the only way to get out). Simply thinking the agreement, suddenly a tiny pseudodragon appeared at his window, looked at him and blinked, suddenly projecting images of itself carrying the ring, with Esmar inside of it (how surprising!), away. Esmar entered the ring, and no more than a couple hours of dragon flight later, he, the dragon, and the voice from the ring were standing on a boat sailing away from the island. Some quick explaining to calm the surprised sailors was needed, but after that Esmar was excited to start yet another leg of his journey.
Ability Scores: You didn't mention this in your post... I assume everyone has to use point buy/Standard Array?

Grymar Ironbeater
Hill Dwarf Bard (College of Valor) Grymar is a quiet, patient dwarf, which is uncommon among bards. He listens before he speaks, and isn't one to push himself to the front of the crowd.
Grymar has a good life. He has spent decades in the city building a solid reputation as a crafter of fine musical instruments, and while hardly world-famous, he is well respected in the musical community and in the community in general. He enjoys frequent visits to his clan hold, having good times with his wife and their three grown children. That all came to a screeching halt a dozen years ago when his wife died in a mining accident. It's hard to go back now. It's hard to go and see her everywhere and know she's gone. It's hard to see his brother there. Grymar has forgiven him - it was an accident, after all - but it looms over them every visit. So now Grymar doesn't visit. He just can't. It kills him to go, but it kills him to stay away. So lately, just out of sheer homesickness, he has begun to perform. He sings the old songs, the songs of home, the songs of the clan. It's not the same, though. But it helps. Sometimes. Sometimes it makes it hurt like hell. But there's no avoiding that.

Lyreth of the Green
Lyreth was a Knight of the Order of the Green. She defended her forest for years, not for fame or glory but out of devotion. Many years ago, a necromancer decided her forest was the place to raise an army of undead. The conflict was long and near fatal. She was victorious but was badly wounded. Her head nearly split, the faeries of the forest did the best they could to aid her. When Lyreth awoke, she heard songs and laughter. For a time she forgot that she was a warrior of the green. Instead, she sang and danced with the fae of the forest. That was until another invasion came. The horrors of combat came back to her and awoke the Knight within. She is in the city due to familial obligation. Her uncle and last living relative requested aid in tending one of the civil parks. Knowing his favorite niece to have the greenest of thumbs, he asked for her help.

Personality: Warm and friendly. Thinks she's supposed to be a faerie.
My name is Crystal. I was born to a Eladrin father, and a fae mother. My life has been anything but normal. As a child, I had sorceress powers since birth that my father never understood and my mother never encouraged. In fact, my mother was never around, and while my father worked, I spent time causing trouble and mischief all by myself. I grew up naughty, outcast, and filthy.
When I became a young woman, I joined an adventuring team and spent years traveling the world and serving them like a tool. I refused. Angry, frustrated, and alone, I left the team and fled to the East where I remained hidden from divine eyes. It was there the second chapter of my life began - where I found new friends and went on an adventure - people who appreciated me for who I was. They understood me.
There's no time for being sad. There's a new job to do. I will stick with this group and become strong again.

Though personally I'm a fan of everyone using PB/SA. While high rolls (like below) are fun, I prefer to have everyone at an equal power level.

Personality: Quiet, hard to get his trust, wants to prove himself
Backstory: Raf is a human who was born to a mother who didn't want him. She put him on the street as soon as he could walk where he survived by stealing food and gold, and sleeping in peoples sheds, under bridges, etc. This live made him agile and fast and he soon was very good in taking stuff from people without them noticing. Luckily, however, he was taken of the street by a monk before he could be initiated into some of the more organized criminal groups in the city.
The monk took him in and gave him the love he never had. He learned him to not steal, to pay for things he needed, and discipline. This clearly did Raf good, and he never wanted to go back to streets again. However, he did earn himself some good skills on the streets, which he did miss to use from time to time. The monk of course noticed this, so he learned him the way of the monk, how to fuel himself with the energy called the ki. Learning these new skills gave wanted Raf to go out again, not onto the street, but to venture the world, which is why he finds himself here now (wherever that is)

Personality: Flash is friendly, talkative, and excitable. His attention span is short and he is easily bored. He prefers action to waiting and is curious to a fault.
Backstory: When shadow reflects on the past several years it always comes down to that one day... They call him a criminal. It wasn’t really his fault! He didn’t mean to steal those jewels. But they were just sitting on that pillow all alone and they were so shiny and sparkly. They shouldn’t have left them out there in the open, on that pedestal, surrounded by ropes... those patrolling guards weren’t even paying attention! Sometimes his hands move without his thinking and, well, he said he was sorry!
But that didn’t matter. When they finally tracked him down he gave up without a fuss. How did that man make him freeze like that? Is that this magic stuff everyone is talking about? That would be interesting... can anyone use magic? What I could do with a little of that magic myself... Where did this magic come from? Anyway, it didn’t take long to sneak out of prison. He’s always been good at making friends and if you can get a few guards on your side... the rest is easy. Course, they’re probably still looking for him... Maybe I should get away and lay low for a while...
