Gonly took the offered seat and with an eyebrow raised asked, "So...the cultists are from Neverwinter then?"
He let the question hang in the air for a second before adding, "And sorry to hear about your brother. I can't imagine what it's like to lose family you're close to."
Waylin looks at Gonly, "The cultists? No, I've never ran into them." He crosses his legs, "The guards protecting their own framed me and tried me in a kangaroo court. I spent a year alone, in a dark cell, food slid under the door, as I awaited my execution. Each day the hangman came by to taunt me." Waylin draws his bottle from his coat and takes a quick swig before continuing, "The day of my execution, I heard the whispers of a disembodied voice. It offered vengeance and power for my brother and myself, in exchange for a steep price." He then looks to the other two, "I was never given a name, but I suspect the devil the cultists worship was the one that made the deal." He glanced down into the flames, watching them dance as he was bathed with warmth.
Gonly takes in Waylin's message with consideration. His eyes start to widen as Waylin finished, and his surprise was obvious. "So, you're a devil-sworn then? Well-" Gonly's hand covered his mouth, and breathed out.
His hand lifted off his face, "-what should we be looking out for? Tail? Horns? Wings?"
Smiling, he said, "I meant the one making deals with the cultists! Though now that I think back I remember hearing "disembodied voice" and can't help but wonder how we're to find, let alone combat, such a being."
Waylin turns his gaze to Fahana, "Do you know much about this Levistus?" He shivers as the name rolls across his tongue. Waylin holds his breath for a moment, feeling his heart racing once more within his throat.
"Oh, not really, just a bit of some stuff my mother use to dabble in with dark magic.... all I really know is he's evil, and I mean incredibly evil, a ruler of one of the planes of hell. We don't want to tangle with him..." she pauses for a moment "but I almost feel like he is somehow involved with this dreadful winter that is happening here." she shakes her head clear again "Anyway, we best stay away from those guys and continue on our search for the caravan."

Waylin's brow turns downwards in a furrow, his eyes narrowing into a squint as he briefly enters deep thought while watching the dancing flickers of flame. His expression relaxing as he glances to the party, the fire popping, embers spurting out only to be caught by the metal grate. Waylin spoke, "Brin, you made mention of Kaltro being a lover of this Torrga woman, the one who runs it? She'd be infuriated if we outright tried to apprehend the man, and we'd undoubtedly be outnumbered. I purpose a way to separate him from this caravan and confirm he is, in fact, the killer." He stood abruptly and began to pace, "I purpose that, once we have found the caravan, we rig who is suppose to be the next offering for the day, placing one of ourselves in their stead. We'll then cheat our way out of it using a bribe or such. That evening, they'll wander off to a secluded section of the town, hopefully with Kaltro in tow, where the rest of us will lay in wait."
Waylin ceases pacing, turning to the rest of the party, studying their faces to gauge their reactions. This was the first moment in a while when he felt his wit was clear, not muddled by the liquor or haunts of his past.
"We be needing to find em first." Brin speaks up. "We be needing to be wasting the rest of this afternoon first though, as no be any point leaving town this late in the day." he shrugs. "Be always that sea monster to check out still, as there be plenty of daytime left fer doing so."
Brin's mention of the sea monster broke Gonly's concern over devils. Looking up at the roof he dry laughed, "Some harpoons, oil, few torches, yeah, we could do it."
Lowering his head, he looked over to Brin and reaffirmed, "I'm serious-if you're set on it, let's make an effort of it and kill the damn thing."
"No know if killing it be needed." Brin speaks up. "Learning more about it fer sure, maybe even killing it if it be needing, but learning more is a must fer we be doing much of anything."
Fahana pipes in at the mention of the sea monster "Oh, no, no... don't kill it, I was talking to someone earlier and they said try talking to it... sounds crazy, but might be worth looking into."

Waylin looks to them and nod, "Might as well make use of the time we are here. I hope it finds talking agreeable for I am not too keen on having a mid day bath in the freezing darkness. Though I would like to have my meal before we depart." Waylin returned to his seat, studying Brin, "So are you from a Hold or are you more of a surfacer?"
"A hold." Brin says with a shrug. "Been in me smithy fer most of the time this strange darkness be about. Me kin only be telling me about it recently, so come out top-side to see what be going on fer meself."
"Just the night that never ends." Brin frowns, not understanding what the other is getting at. he nods to the tavern door. "It be only just aftre noon here, but it be dark as night out there. That darkness."
Brin gives a shrug to the dwarf barkeep and settles down with some food as he listens to the others speak.

Waylin chuckled softly leaning back, "Well I already had horns and a tail. Though I wouldn't mind a set of wings." His smile then fading.
Gonly laughed and shook his head.
