Can you give a little detail on what type of campaign this will be? Urban, coastal, combat, investigation, social, etc? It affects what kind of character I create.
Kind of a mix. It's basically a sandbox with a medieval setting. I would say mostly urban.
Looking to at least check in every day and post accordingly.
sounds good to me.
Do you have the book sharing and do you plan to open a campaign here for us to join?
I don’t have any books on this site so if not I’ll have to do it the old fashioned way and share it some other way like via google drive or something. I have no problem either way.
I do not have book sharing as I own most of the books in physical form. I figured I'd start with simple text then see what the group is feeling.
I would like to join. Here’s info on my character:
Name: Bramnus Axebane
Race: Hill Dwarf
Class: Barbarian
Background: Folk Hero
Backstory: Bramnus is a hill dwarf barbarian who has been trained by his clan for adventure. His clan lives on the outskirts of Faerûn as the first line of defense. While visiting a neighboring town, Bramnus’ clan was killed by an army of orcs led by Vakgar the Wretched. With no home left to return to, Bramnus roams the land helping others while searching for clues to the whereabouts of Vakgar.
Ok, I have a base profile for Hedrak here (I may still juggle his ability scores some, but I think they look decent?).
Race: Half-Orc
Class: Fighter (into Eldritch Knight)
Since I am not experienced with D&D5e I just went with a straight sword and board approach - I imagine Hedrak as having been adopted by a band of orcs, after the shaman managed to convince the tribal leaders she 'saw something in him'. As part of his apprenticeship, he is expected to 'travel the world. see what is unseen, kill the unkillable, master the Weave, and return to claim destiny!' - yeah... He is not really sure what that means either. Either Aggradar, the leading shaman is really a visionary, or she has completely lost it...
Sounds like an interesting story. I'm also willing to answer any questions you have about the 5e system.
Also interested, bit of a veteran to D&D and pbp, I would much rather make a character that will be interesting in world so if you're willing to have me I'd like to workshop the character later
Since you're familiar with php, would you recommend I run a game with all 12 players, or split them into two games of six? We can definitely workshop the character later.
Never DMed for a genasi before, excited to see what you bring. Group may be split into two different games but look forward to playing with you all the same.
Backstory: Outlived my father and my mother will not acknowledge my existence.
Really like the name, look forward to playing with you. Group might be split into two games just so you know, but I do have room for you which ever way I slice it.
Heyo! I would love to join if you are still accepting applicants. Been playing as a character for almost 3 years now. Your campaign sounds pretty awesome to be honest.
Background: Once belonged to a warrior monastery (happy to go more in depth with you and flesh this out)
You're welcome to play, I just might split the players into two games. I cannot see the link for some reason, but I'm willing to go over anything you'd like.

That sounds good CDShark, because I will probably have a lot of questions ;)
Hey, I posted yesterday, and today I finished up my character.
Name: Adran (He doesn't know his last name)
Race: Drow Half elf
Class: Warlock
Subclass: The Genie
Background: Haunted One
Adran doesn't know who he is. He woke up one day in a forest, with no memories. The voice in his head gave him instructions on what to do and how to survive. Eventually, the voice in his head explained that it is a genie of great power, and that it knows a little about his parents and who he is. It explained that his parents had powerful enemies, and that they gave Adran to the genie so he could be safe. Adran made a warlok pact with it for power, and has set out to find out more about his parents and if they are still alive.
Sorry that backstory is so generic, but I couldn't do much better without knowledge of the world.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
I will protect those I hate. Even ... even if the one I hate most ... is ... myself.

Any class is welcome.

Since this is a homebrew setting you'll need to rework your backstory a bit. But I enjoy the beats if you're still willing to play.
Sounds like an interesting story. I'm also willing to answer any questions you have about the 5e system.
Look forward to seeing what you come up with.
Very interested to see how that would progress. Might split the applicants between two games, but I'm excited to play with you.

New players are welcome! May split the group into two games but look forward to seeing what you can do all the same.

No problem on the backstory at all.
Sweet. Look forward to playing with you. Just making final touches on some things and making sure everyone is still good to play.

I’m going to withdraw myself on this one. Let others get in.
Noob
No worries, there will still be room since I'll break this group into multiple games, but it's your decision.
