Herbert: let's Gromedark get ahead, surprised at just how stealthy he is for something so large. Herbert walks slowly and deliberately, using the ends of his staff to poke and move things he doesn't like the look of.
"I've done a bit of reading around the area" he whispers.
You skim you mind for any creatures you have heard of in the woods, you know that these woods are much less exotic than the Juelhide Jungle, and contain mainly small mammals and birds. You know that these woods do contain an unusually high population of bluejays. Another thing that comes to mind is bears, black and brown, with another type, the recently discovered owlbear, speculated to be a remanent of the Mad Sorcerer's wild magic.

Garazar is perfectly at home in the wilderness, though he is wary of the forest's reputation. Other than keeping his eyes open, though, he allows the others to take point in finding the trail, nodding but not speaking as the blue vines their employer described were found, and shuffling along behind.
(Garazar is not particularly stealthy, thanks to armor, but can help track or trail-find if needed. He generally allows others to lead if they want to, though.)

Gromedark swats at a fly half-heartedly, not wanting to give away his position to anything ahead as he continues on the path.
(ooc: is there a path or trail? how far ahead can I see through the trees/how thick are these woods?)

Yeah Orin is busy looking for signs of animals, especially bears. Survival: 9
Gromedark waits by the blue vines until the party gathers together from their marching order.
"Blue vines lead off path. Gromedark wait to see if all agree. We follow blue vines to find Aspherer?"

"Gromedark scout ahead. Follow 30 feet. Be ready for anything!"
Gromedark will set a slow pace so as not to startle any nearby animals as he moves down the blue vine path.

You don't find any clues of animals that have been around these parts of the woods.
