You notice that while the local tavern does rent rooms, they seem to be full at the moment. You do find an inn nearby called The Alcove that only provides logging, but does so at a variety of prices. The cheapest room available is 1 silver for 3 days. The common room of the inn looks extravagant, at least for compared to the rest of the village. There are more expensive rooms and the price seems ridiculous.
The woman (who seems to be the corder here based on her regal decorum and prim nature) thinks to herself. "I'm affraid we do not have access to that particular disquisition. However, we do have a number that I'd say are equal to its weight. Is there a particular deity you're interested in, or is it the full devoutness you desire to dive within?"
The halfling hobbles over to a tray and lets you pick the one most appetizing to you. From the back you can a sudden clang as a goliath drops a sheet of fresh pies on the counter. His ginormous form is humorously amplified by the little apron he wears.
The halfling gives you the tart, her face bright and cheery. "Anything else for ya, dearie?"
Bertrand is nearly certain that he saw the tome he quoted, but asserting that would reveal his deception.
"I don't believe so, your eminence. The sisters at the orphanage are having a terrible time getting the Silphium to take root in our little garden and I've seen references to pious laypeople cultivating it even in the wastes to the south," he offers her his hand with resigned piety, "My quest continues, I suppose."
"Well, I do apologize for not being of great help," she says as she take your hand. "But if you need anything on our end, do not hesitate to ask. What is your name? I am High Corder Mirva Sharric."
"Bertrand the Foundling, your eminence. Wayward layman and aspiring warrior of Jundi," Bertrand bows to the High Corder before rising and walking out into Gorth, seeking out the busiest room he can find. In Vin's Chalice, he tosses a silver to the barkeep, asking for something light and cold, before finding a table in a corner. He pulls his legs under him, barely noticing the beer in front of him while he meditates on the knotted staff.
Something strong. and a couple answers to questions. first, do you ever have live music, and two, when can i perform
edit: Jade has a chipper english accent that is usually surprising to some people. when he talks, his lips move like a human's despite having feline features.
The barkeep is taken aback but answers your question. "We have music. You can perform whenever you like as long as there's not an act already up there. You get paid in your own tips though. If you're looking to get paid by the tavern you'll have to jump through some hoops." As she speaks, she turns and starts pouring you a thick liquid that smells of walnut. She turns back and hands you a tankard now full of the strange liquid.
The person at the counter, a human, narrows his eyes at you. "Well, this is the finest establishment within the Anghor Hills. It's price is correctly attuned."
You enter just as a group of gamblers in the back erupt with cheers as the lucky cloaked humanoid racks in a large pile of bronze and silver pieces.
A pair of dwarves that appear to be twins are bussing tables, and appear to have their hands full. You approach the barkeep, who is talking with a tabaxi. You wait for a break in the conversation. The barkeep turns to you and says, "That'll be 6 bronze for the room, the first meal's free."

"The Lives of the Facian Servants: A Treatise on Pious Planting"
Bertrand tries to remember the title of a book that he quickly ruled out but might otherwise be useful to him. His mission is his own.

Kerry, satisfied with the answers they got will head to the fanciest looking inn that has food.

"Wow, that seems pricey. Is there some sort of festival or something going on right now that raised prices?"
KERRY -
You search the village and find two places, an inn called The Alcove (but they don't serve food) and a tavern called Vin's Chalice.

Kerry Vin's Chalice and walks up to the person that appears to be speaking with customers.
"I will take a room and a meal for the night." They speak in a very proper voice and are very direct in speaking with people.

"Thank you, miss." Kerry passes over 6 bronze (out of game question: How much is a bronze worth?).
