Serandis recognizes the symbol on the man's robes and sighs with distaste. A follower of Vol The Cursed. History told Serandis everything she needed to know about that symbol, for it glorified a fallen line from Aerenal. A flash came across her eyes, a long-clawed hand grasping at her. She instinctively shuddered. In the mere second it took to appear it was gone. This wasn't the first time something like this happened, and they were becoming more frequent.
Ever since she stepped off that ship in Sharn, she's been having these flashes. Maybe they had to do with her destiny Mazareth spoke of. The reason she had to leave home and come to these lands. Whatever it was, it was something she kept to herself. Not even Citron knew of these visions. She was afraid she was going crazy, but more than likely she was just homesick. Being away from her lands was doing something to her, that was probably it.
"I agree, things around here are truly lifeless, Citron," Serandis says with disgust. Speaking about this country as a whole. This man may of been a follower in a cult that she disagreed with, but does that mean he should be accosted by street toughs? She couldn't blame them, the Blood of Vol was a travesty of a religion. Everything she knew about them made her shiver. Undead priests? Vampires? Mummies? Disgusting! So unnatural, and impure.

Tsking under her breath, Sera walks forward, puts her mask on her face, and she speaks loudly to the group, "Excuse me, pardon the interruption, could you please inform us where to find the Warlord known as Geron Karlach? We have urgent business with him." Serandis was able to hide her true emotions behind her Deathless mask, the look of disgust on having to step in was more than she could almost bear.
She will walk closer to the group, standing almost in between the two bullying the (probably deserved) follower of Vol. She will look over the group, seeing if any of them hold some type of rank in this town or if they are just commoners doing commoner things.

Adaliza joined Serandis in talking to the guards. She did not spoke (yet) but stood in a way that the young BoV follower was now behind her and looked at the "guards" calmly and expectedly, studying both.

An expression of nausea sweeps over the faces of both the Seeker and the man with red hair, but the woman appears totally unaffected as she spins to face Serandis, her eyes sweeping across the elf's face before moving on to Adaliza and narrowing at the sight of the kalashtar's teardrop holy symbol. She crosses her arms and jerks her head towards the center of town. "That way. Two-story house with the wolf banner over the door."
The Seeker's eyes flick neatly across the four of you, their expression betraying nothing of whatever they're thinking (though they do still look a bit nauseated from the skunk smell). "I will show you," they say politely, neatly sidestepping around the green-faced redhead to put themselves a little closer to your group.

"Thank you,"through the understandable tears said Adaliza to both as calmly as situation allowed, and, trying to breathe only through the mouth, followed the Seeker.
The two commoners grumble, but move off down the street, talking to each other in low voices.
The Seeker inclines their head to you in thanks as they move out of the rank skunk stench, regaining their composure. Now that the commotion is over, you can see that they have short, dark hair and gray-blue eyes, and a quiet air of self-assurance. "I am Levis," they introduce themselves. "Thank you for your assistance. I will guide you to warlord's house if you need, but it is easy enough to find, and you may not want to be seen walking through town with a known member of the local Blood of Vol. We are not particularly popular in Teryk at the moment." A quick, wry smile darts across their face, the expression of one used to this sort of thing.
"This is happening everywhere, but not a reason to give up," with a good measure of stubbornness and conviction responded Adaliza. "My name is Adaliza Lanhar, I came from Atur to help." She paused for a moment but at the end decided others will talk for themselves should they want to. "While we are walking, could you please tell was is really going on here and for how long?"
"Yes, thank you for assisting us," Sera says from behind her mask. "I am Serandis, from the Shae Mordai region of Aerenal. A stranger to these lands but not to some of your... customs." She says the last word with a small amount of contempt. This one, so openly claiming to be a follower of the cursed religion of Vol. It was disgusting. But she would try to be cordial to this one, for this wasn't her home and he was helping them.
"What kind of trouble were you causing that those two were so worked up? You can not honor your ancestors by making the world your enemy. Lucky we showed up when we did, if we wouldn't have run into trouble on the road we might have not been around to save you from that unpleasantness."

They begin walking down the street, speaking as they do. "The blight overtaking the fields of Teryk holds all the marks of Mabaran influence, similar to the blights that overtook Karrnath early in the Last War. Blame often naturally shifts to Seekers when such events occur." Their voice turns a little grim. "Regardless of the true cause. Which in this case, it is difficult to determine. The Shadowmount Forest's Mabaran zone has not swelled in power, Mabar has not grown nearer than usual to Eberron, and as far as we can tell, the new undead roaming outside Teryk were created by the negative energy, not causing it. Things have begun to turn rather...ugly. I expect that if things continue as they are, it will soon be unsafe for us to move openly through Teryk. The warlord is doing what he can, but any definitive action he takes may only divide the town more." They shrug. "Which I would guess is why you are here." They flash a grin to Serandis. "And if the world chooses to make itself our enemy, so be it. We persevere, with the blessing of the Divinity Within. And the help of our ancestors."
"I'm not sure about all that, but we did run in to some of yer 'ancestors' outside the gates. Nearly took me arm off. However don't give up on the land, there's still magic within it." and he'll place a hand upon the ground and a flower will bloom there.
"I believe you and I have very different insights on what is and is not an ancestor." Sera replies to them. "I am interested in hearing what the Warlord has to say. Adaliza was nodding to Levis's words as they walked. "There were so many cases when Seekers stopped the progression of the Mabaran's manifest zones and yet every time they need to prove it anew!"The sadness in Adaliza's voice was genuine. She walked quietly for some time but then asked again. "If this is the same blight that struck Karrnath back during the war, it would be a bad sign, the cause was never found, or never searched for, as I think. But if this is different... Did someone try to investigate? Search for the origin? The point where it all begun?"
Levis shakes their head to Serandis. "The creatures roaming the fields are not related to us. They are likely the bodies of unfortunates who wandered too close to the Shadowmount or were ambushed by bandits when the road was less guarded. And they seem to have no end. I agree, the warlord will require all the assistance they can gather." They turn to Adaliza, giving her a faint smile. "The warlord has little resources with which to search for the origin of the energy, and we Seekers have none who could leave the village to look and actually be useful in stopping it. And with the current sentiment towards us in the village, it is difficult for the warlord to publicly reach out to us. Perhaps that is part of the purpose for which he called you, who have no connection to the village, here." They stop outside of a large, two story house with a wolf banner hung at the front. "You can ask him yourself, this is his house. I wish you luck, and perhaps I will see you again. But for now, I should get back to the temple." They incline their head to all of you.
