The war chanter tells Tabaqui in common: "Clever elf, if Eltargrim Irithyl had only your cunning... Myth Drannor would've fallen in but zn hour." (vicious mockery DC13 Wis save or 5 psychic damage and DA on next attack roll). She continues the chant of cunning and the nearby warlock approaches, touching her horse, casting a [spell]freedom of movement [spell] spell. The horse takes off toward Walks as the captain calls out: "Give no quarter!" (Tacticsl command, LA). The horse takes off and the war chanter takes her sword in hand and prepares to decapitate the long eared cleric as she comes across her flank, riding past her to the west, then turning sharply to return west and cut the cleric at the shoulder before stopping between (and to the north of) her and the retreating giant. 7 for [1roll]d8+2+2d6[/roll].

Is it possible to call for a truce at this point? Marlyth is actually trying to re-consider the local guides' proposal for an alliance. Nice ruling regarding the fall damage issue, by the way.

I thought the special rule was complicated but not unreasonable. DC20 or take 6.
I actually think the hobgiblins might accept the surrender. That is unmistakably how they would see it. But, that is subject to how they perceive you. PCs would need some insight to garner this, but the surrender would be most successful if the party were middlingly tough. Too soft: go for the underbelly. Too hard: it's a trap! Its a real Goldilocks dilemma. It's pretty clear the elite captain with the scar is in charge. He's the one you'd have to convince. Ignore, then, the earlier flavor text "Give no quarter" statement. Or don't, use it and twist it to make it part of your narrative if you'd rather. My point is, it's a rallying cry, not their sacred motto.>

Tauzen, having recovered from his fear, tries to take stock of the situation. It seems a few of his companions may be down (One of his own accord but he doesn't know that!) He decides to advance on Warlock 1 (At least, I think that is the number and that it's still near!) He uses his Attack to make 2 unarmed strikes and Bonus Action to take another unarmed strike: Attack: 16 Damage: 6 Attack: 11 Damage: 9 Attack: 12 Damage: 10

Toadlyth will soak up most of the damage from the repeated assault while silently watching the Lioness with gaping mouth. Then she attempts to make a bite attack against the woman in order to grapple and swallow the creature later. Finally she leaps out of the plant growth area and move towards the body of water... she's abducting the fighter under broad daylight.
(ooc: are we going to recreate a map or continue theatre of the mind?
how many of them have we killed so far?
since the DM knows the overall situation but not a single one of the enemies does (hp, AC, levels etc.) and we have control of the battlefield... how close to surrender are they?)
How close to surrender are you? They have two casters able to cast freedom of movement at will and two sharpshooters out of range for most of your attacks and your (theoretically primary) healer just went down. The effect placed by your side has effectively limited your mobility and the PCs would see this by now. Still, they could be open to some sort of agreement, truce cease fire. That possibility being raised has me not top eager to draw the map over, though it is oretty simple to do. The act of doing so suggests combat will likely continue for sometime, and I am conscious of that.

RAW specifies it requires an action, therefore active investigation. You can do this any round as can anyone reasonably close to her, but I thought I'd give you the possible benefit of succeeding before engaging in conversation.
