Ollezall will cast detect magic as a ritual. "I would like to check what's in this room before we pass it." Motioning to the door on the right in the top hallway. " We don't have to enter, but if there is an enemy inside, I'd rather have the escape behind us than be sandwiched between two forces"
Ollezall will place his hand on the doorknob, wait for the effects of his ritual, and conformation from the group before trying the door.
Ollezall, ever cautious, settles in for a breezy ten minutes of hand holding with the doorknob while his comrades await the verdict. Fortunately, his patience and effort pays off and Ollezall gets distinct sensations of magic used in the practical art of Conjuration.
Cerlinde says to Ollezall- “a wise move, for sure, my friend. We are in no rush, we should be cautious. That spell will prove useful in many places here, I expect.”
“We’re going to check this one first Syd- just to keep anything from sneaking up on us. Ollezall’s seeing what magic is about, The ritual takes some time”. Cerlinde says.
(Sorry, which one? End of the hall/easternmost on the map or the one Ollezall is checking/south-central on the map.)
Ollezall speaks up; " the door I'm fondling, as you say, houses conjuration magic(hallway directly across from the stairs, door on the right after the entering the hallway). I cannot be sure if that means this room is used for conjuration, or that there is a conjured being in the room. Syd; would you like to do your thing and go first, or second?" Ollezall begins gathering energy to call down sacred flame, readying himself. Either way, Ollezall will turn the door so it is ajar.
Syd and the party open the door and enter the room, aware of the lingering presence of Conjuration magic. This dark, stone-walled room contains only a few objects. A five-foot-diameter circle of intricate runes covers the floor. There's an empty wooden bookstand opposite the door on the other side of the runes. Bronze braziers stand at the other three cardinal points of the circle. Whatever material they contained has long ago burned to cinders, but the room still smells of charcoal and sulfur. Sitting next to the bookstand is a warty toad. It eyes you up and lets out a hearty "ribbit" as you enter the room.
*Gasp* A toad! These little fellows often contain great wisdom and secrets!
If he can manage to catch it, Dyumi will pick up the frog and begin asking it about the room.

Dyumi approaches the toad, which blinks its large red eyes plaintively and inflates its vocal sac. As Dyumi stoops to attempt to pick it up, the toad launches itself violently toward his face with its mouth open, exposing unusually sharp teeth!
Madly waving his arms, Dyumi deflects the ornery frog in the nick of time, inches from his face.
"I guess his secrets will remain his, then."
To the toad: (the toad can understand me because druid) "Good sir or ma'am, I apologise for my previous forwardness. Do you know what this room is?"
Persuasion on the Toad: 20

Dyumi's words have an unexpected effect, as the toad's body begins to distort grotesquely and expand. It quickly grows into a small humanoid form, with a barbed tail, long curved horns, and a wicked set of claws on each hand. Its skin is the same pallid green tone as that of the toad. The creature hisses at you and laughs, "This is the room where you will die, old man!"

(Atrack! How do we do initiative- do you roll for all or want us to?)
(If you all want to do initiative, we can do that and feel free to roll in a post. Otherwise, I'll resolve actions in the order in which they are posted. In either case, please note in your post which round you are posting for!)
Standing in the doorway and sizing up the creature, Cerlinde says”not if I can help it”. She uses Hex (Bonus action- targeting Wisdom) and shoots at the creature with a fire bolt. 18 to hit If it hits 3 fire damage plus 6 necrotic damage.
Mohdrak stifled a chuckle. 'Well, he would know better than I where the kitchen is.' He followed the cat into the open door.
Following the cat, you fully open the door to enter and find that you are most definitely in the kitchen. The aromas of cooking permeate this room. A large iron stove takes up one wall, and the rest of the room is filled with large tables and racks lined with hanging pots, pans, and cooking utensils. Everything is sparkling clean. As you study your surroundings, you hear a flapping of wings and two small forms land on the nearest table. They bow low before you and ask in squeaky voices, “More honoured guests?! To what do we owe this special surprise? I hope you have more sense than your friend in the gray robe. And how can we be of help to you? Cooking? Cleaning? Mending your clothes, perhaps?”
Cerlinde calls back to Mohdrak in the direction Of the other room —“Mohdrak, we’re heading downstairs.” She then starts going down the stairs, right behind Syd if Syd is ok with that.
Enraptured with the two little widdle creatures before him, Mohdrak failed to hear Cerline's outcry.
'I'm just checking the kitchen.' It was the truth and Mohdrak saw no reason to tiptoe around it. The creatures - Tiny gargoyles? - seemed amicable and wanting to serve. 'Are you the help? Are there more of you?'
A thought emerged from the back of his mind. 'Is the master of the manor in?'
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Why you-"
Dyumi leaps foreword with ferocity not usually found in a man of his age and sinks his teeth into the frog demon.
Attack: 9 Damage: 10 Poison damage.

Cerlinde says to Ollezall- “a wise move, for sure, my friend. We are in no rush, we should be cautious. That spell will prove useful in many places here, I expect.”
Syd appears confused. "So, which door do you want me to open? the one at the end of the hall, or the one you are busy groping?"

With a nod and a grunt of agreement, Syd pushes the door to the south-central room the rest of the way open and looks inside.
