With everyone closer at hand, both long time companions and those only met today, Triäsa's song begins to change. She casts Teleport on all, to bring them back to the The Dog Ear.
The light surrounding Triäsa crescendos with her song and blinding all of you as you stand in it. A giant column of pure white force crashes down on top of all of you and you feel your being, your very soul, ripped from the existence. It is not particularly pleasant but there is no pain just blinding white light.
Slowly, the light fades and as you blink you find yourselves standing on the deck of the Dog Ear. A familiar pirate voice says in a simple surprised tone,"What the f*ck"
Triäsa collapses to the ground unconscious and exhausted (Four levels exhausted in fact...) The light completely fades from around her. As Captain Janis composes himself he rushes to her side.
"Well that was an entrance... What in the Nine Hells is going on."
Gathering your bearings you notice the boat remains docked at the Grippli outpost. It rocks violently as giant waves are pummeling the shoreline. It is getting rather late in the afternoon as best you can guess.
Triäsa while exhausted quickly regains consciousness finding herself laying on the deck of the ship staring up at the sky and a concerned ship captain.
Ludolf holds on to Triäsa as the young half-elven bard teleports the two teams away from the crumbling temple of YIG and onto the main deck of the Dog Ear. As Triäsa collpases, Ludolf catches her and kneels by her side until she regains conciousness, giving the captain a firm stare of his piercing gray eyes to make clear that he's not needed. Ludolf then looks down into Triäsa's dark eyes. "You saved us Tri, saved us all." He says softly, caressing her auburn hair. "Just rest now, I will take care of you."
"My mother gave me strength... in the forest... in the wind," Triäsa says in a faint voice. "I am sorry for yelling at you Daventry. You held off the enemy gallantly. And I am sorry about the cursing. But I did not want to leave you behind."
She then looks up at Ludolf with a smile. "My love, I will try to rest. But we need to get to the Dreamlands. And I do not know how to do that." She doesn't move from where she is at, for the moment at least.
Ludolf smiles warmly down at the young beautiful half-elf in his lap, caressing her cheek, for a moment forgetting the painful reality around them. "Yes...yes the Dreamlands, I will find us a way there."He says confidently, although he has no immediate clue on how to accomplish that, he just wants to reassure his beloved Triäsa that everything will be alright.
Daventry breathes heavily, coming down from the adrenaline high of combat. She looks down at herself, standing barefoot on the deck of the ship in the crimson-stained remnants of the sacrificial silk dress and her leather armor.
"That's... That's a lot of blood. Yeah, that's a lot of my blood. Whew."She leans against the ships railing, dizzy a moment, before taking in the coastal air in a deep breath.
She looks to Triäsa, still holding onto the rail. "I'm glad you didn't leave me behind... But I didn't want those monsters bamfing to you all and tearing you to pieces. Hells, it's a miracle we all made it."She glances over to Gunnar and Cathbad and the others. "I'm sorry about your friends... I wish there was something more we could've done."
At the mention of the Dreamlands, Daventry gets a distant look in her eyes. "I think I know the way. I feel it. I, um, well..." She pauses, looking for the right words. "I have pledged an oath to Nodens... The Lord of the Dreamlands and the Great Abyss. He is the entity that has dominated my dreams the past few weeks... I have a connection with him, now, and I believe I can use it to guide us all to his realm."She shakes slightly, suddenly feeling the drain of the day's events, and looks at her hand.
"But until we rid ourselves of these brands, I won't be able to perform the ritual... Even if I had the energy to do so today..."
She looks to Pardot. "Speaking of rituals... Pardot, can you bring forth a bird companion again? Given what happened at the temple, there might not be any Yuan-ti left alive to terrorize the Grippli village. If your little bird friend can get eyes on the village and confirm, we can at least get the frogfolk back to their homes..."
"My mother said, 'Your companions are tempted by corrupting power' " Triäsa says ìn a quiet voice. "I am sure she did not just mean you." She casts the briefest of glances up at Ludolf as she says this. "But if you know a way for all of us to get to the Dreamlands, then it seems your oath may have been a necessary thing for us."
She takes a breath, settling in even more comfortably. "Does anyone know who Kadath is?"
She suddenly looks about for Pardot. "Hey! How are you doing Pardot? Feeling ok?"
"Hmmph. I feel... Different, this time. I saw what I could be. Hells, think I literally saved myself." Daventry replies. "And if Nodens is the one who sent Dandelion to us, then we were already walking the path, just without knowin'."
Shorty looks up at Gunnar as Daventry mentions their friends. The hafling cook mouths something and Gunnar nods, "Yea, I noticed too. Absalom, Whiskers and Vitya... they were there with Gehir but I didn't see Sarai or Ani. I hope they got out before us..."The big man tries to be hopeful but his tone betrays the reality.
The Captain gives way to Ludolf looking after Triäsa. He glances at the markings on Ludolf's palms and wrinkles his face, "I doubt I wanna know how you all ended up with those, magebrands, powerful stuff. Ran across a group of Red Wizards from Thay. They were being held prisoner for some sort of crime outside of Waterdeep a few years back. Thankfully they were all marked with the stuff. " He looks at Cathbad's hands tracing the symbol with his fingers. "Powerful but not permanent, if what I heard was true. Tends to last around 2d12 hours. I bet it'll be gone with first light tomorrow."

"2d12? You've been playing too much Bosses and Boardrooms, Janis. Not everything in the world is decided on the face of a dice... except maybe how much more coin I come home with at night." Daventry says, a grin over gritted teeth trying to inject a bit of levity into one hell of a day.
Ludolf looks up between the captain and Daventry, giving them both a weak smile, not having a clue what they were talking about but it felt good seeing the champion of this Nodens smile at least. "Gone at dawn, thanks captain."He says in a subdued tone, then looking over at Pardot.
"You did well m'lady" Gunnar slaps Daventry on the back "But I think I got the better of you! At least twenty of those lizard beasts lost their heads at my new axe and not a scratch on me! It was Glorious! If you'd like to leave this lot behind and join the Friendlies it seems we've got an opening or two..."
Cathbad looks at Pardot and then the rest of you, "We may not all have made it but those who did owe you our lives." He smiles at Maxx "I made a promise I'd lay off the wine if you got us out of there"He takes his jug off his belt and gives a toss in the air and turns back to his fellow druid, Pardot. "You look like a man who appreciates nature and the simpler things in life. Takes this as thanks. It does more than just wine but I fear the temptation may get the best of me."He hands Pardot a simple clay jug with a cork stopper. It surprisingly light in fact it feels empty at that moment. "Just let it know what you need and it generally provides, I recommend the wine... just in moderation."
Maxx puts and arm on the small of his back, "We are alive..." She does smile for once though she looks tired and beaten "though I could use a bit of a rest..."
All the while the Captian looks very confused. Deciding it's not worth trying to figure out he calls out for some of the deck hands to bring round some food and water.

She looks at the Captain. "We'll explain everything... just, I could use a clean up first."
Daventry will disappear belowdecks for a while, and emerge with a washed face and hair, fresh clothes, and a significantly less amount of gore spatter. She chucks the gross sacrificial dress into a pile to burn later.
