Hello! I am currently looking to run a play-by-post for the prewritten module of Waterdeep: Dragon Heist so I'm recruiting for party members. This will be my first time running a play-by-post so I'd appreciate your patience if you're interested but I'll do my best! Experience isn't necessary for players and I'll most likely be looking for four to six players for the campaign depending on who applies. Characters will start at level one (so create characters with level one in mind) and go to level five as the campaign progresses. Official content is allowed for character creation and UA/other materials are subject to approval. I'll choose the party within a few days, interest permitting. If you're interested in joining, please fill out the form below and reply to this thread with it! ♡
**Edit: I forgot to put in a space for ability scores (whoops) so I've added that to the form!
RECRUITMENT FORM:
Name: Ability Scores: Rolled, Point buy or Standard Array. Race: Class: Background: Alignment: Backstory:
Name:Boosandei 'Boo' Belfrye Race: Hexblood (Fey) Heir of Hags Class: Sorcerer (Draconic Bloodline) Level: 1 Background: Jester (Entertainer) Alignment: Neutral Backstory: Once upon a time a nameless young peasant girl, a most troublesome child was spirited away by two Hags named Griselda and her sister Esmeralda Belfrye. The Hag sisters carried the babe off to their cottage in the woods. Each and every night before going to bed the old hags would sing a Haggish lullaby to the wee child that went something like, "sleep well for on the morrow we are going to cook you in a nice Haggish stew and eat you all up." And one day they did and devoured the infant allowing the Hag Griselda to give birth to a daughter... a Hexblood Heir of Hags which they promptly named Boosandei (or Boo for short). Over the years Boo grew up under the tutelage of the Hag sisters and through them learned a little about magic and other things better left unmentioned in mixed company. Eventually, Boo was sent out to make her own way in life and became a Jester until the day would come that she would become a Hag herself!
Backstory: Thurdrak was a practicing Wizard who had a seat in the local court system. He was there to help shed light on proceedings that involved some sort of magical nature. He did this for a number of years, helping both put people away, and save people from false imprisonment. That was until one case came across the table, a man who was charged with killing his wife and wife's family, of which he was certain that the person charged was guilty. The other members of the court thought differently, and at the end of the day, found the accused, innocent of the crime he was accused of.
Thurdrak was not OK with this and followed the man for weeks, until one day he followed him into an alley where he saw him kill again. But this time, he did not arrest him... He killed him and ran. Now on the other side of the law, he went into hiding, and has been doing so ever since until he was certain it was safe to come out.
Name: Irakeen Lonelander Race: Goliath Class: Paladin Background: Acolyte Alignment: CG Backstory: Irakeen was left on the stairs of the temple of Selune when he was just a baby, leading to him being taken in by those who presided over the temple. He grew into devotion for the moon goddess, being strong, and at times frightening, Irakeen was prepared to become a paladin who serves her, learning the oath of the watchers but not yet having given it to the goddess who had watched over him. Irakeen has set off for Waterdeep, a nearby city to the temple, as he looks for a way to improve his skill and prepare him for his oath and greater calling.

Sabine is a normal girl who was raised by a good gnome artificer couple. Everything about her life is ordinal, except one thing… Sabine isn't a gnome. She was an orphan elf adopted by her parents. Now grown up as an adult woman, Sabine wants to establish her own workshop and find her true origin. Both dreams need a good amount of fortune. But she is living in Waterdeep and the City of Splendors always provides opportunities for those in need… with some risks.

Name: Hillock Gabdaner
Ability Scores: Ability scores: 14141411913
Race: Rock Gnome
Class: Monk
Background: Gladiator
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Backstory: Hillock was raised in the streets of Waterdeep, making a living with his fists for as long as he could remember. Due to his small size the children of the larger races would attempt to steal from him but he was always able to chase most of them off or use his small body to get into places they couldn't reach. Like many Hill took to doing whatever he needed to do to survive, eventually catching the eye of a local group that made money by having illegal fights in an abandoned warehouse.
At first the young Gnome was there to be entertainment before the fights started, being putted against various people that were supposed to beat him down. This was often the case at first but Hill was able to learn from this, watching others to learn what he could in order to turn the tables. After showing he was a natural at learning more advanced combat techniques he was able to become a bit of a local celebrity to those that lived in the dockward.
With the money he earned he got room in a somewhat nice inn, getting a job keeping bar fights under control.
Player Alias + Age: DarthDrizzt or Darth for short. 25
Name: Vesper "Ves" Ability Scores: Rolled - Ability scores: 171313121111 (woah, dice are never this kind) Race: Half-elf Class: Rogue (planning on Mastermind) Background: Urchin Alignment: N
Backstory: Vesper was born in Waterdeep to parents that they don't know. They were put in Viga's Orphanage, run by Charlotte Viga. While they were assigned female at birth they never conformed with the standards Charlotte held of little girls, which they ended up resenting her for as they grew older and resisted more and more of Charlotte's lessons. When they were 13, they ran away from the orphanage in the night with the assistance of their only real friend there: Haero (male dark elf who frequently got into trouble). After their escape, they kept in contact with Haero, though one day they received a message from him saying that Charlotte had caught on to what he did and that he had to lay low. Vesper hasn't heard from him since that message when they were 14. In that time, they had started pickpocketing and committing other acts of petty thievery and running cons, but eventually they decided that they wanted to pursue greater ends. That is when they began using Charlotte's many teachings on etiquette, using disguises and acts to trick others. They tried to find Haero but they couldn't; he was no longer at the orphanage. They resolved to continue following this thread, but also to seek greater wealth (mostly to prove Charlotte wrong, but if they succeeded in both objectives they planned to buy a home for Haero and them).
Backstory: Wraith as far as she knows was born in Waterdeep. She has known only the city, with the exception of the cottage in the woods where she received assistance in contacting a patron. She did what she had to do to survive. Eventually she became a bounty hunter. She would catch petty thieves for coin. She would catch anyone for coin. She knew not to ask too many questions. Wraith made a deal with Mammon for power (she is unaware that he is her ancestor). (I will flesh this out)

Name: Misty Hills Ability Scores: Ability scores: 131412697 Race: Tabaxi Class: Rogue (not sure archetype. Scout maybe?) Background: Entertainer Alignment: Neutral Backstory: Misty Hills (or just Misty) was born into a clan of tabaxi minstrels, story tellers, and thieves. He’s come to Waterdeep on a whim, chasing fairy tales, but now he’s here looking to participate in a tale of his own. He knows that’s the way to find a thing, an object, a permanent piece of a tale. And he wants it for his own.
Player Alias + Age: I’m happy to just go by character name. Keeps it simple. Mid 30s.
Name: Lord Torquil Fanderay Mercy Greystoke Ability Scores: Rolled, see above Race: Human Class: Artificer Background: Noble Alignment: Lawful Good Backstory: Torquil is the youngest son of 5 siblings - 2 brothers and twin sisters, representing the latest generation of the Greystoke family, the epitome of old money...
Serious illness when younger - a plague known as the Blood Mist - left his lungs scarred and his health wrecked, but his family’s wealth managed to pay for curative magics in time to save his life.
Given the combination of his health, the lack of need to have serious interests in running the family businesses, or to go into politics, or to make a good alliance with other noble families, he has very much been the pampered younger child. His voracious intellect covers many topics, but where his especial interest lies is in the merging of magic with the physical world, and the inventiveness of the clever mind. And fashion - one wouldn’t be seen dead under-dressed…
Backstory: Gorloc father, full Orc, was a soldier for their town acting as a guard and so when he was old enough, he followed in his father footsteps. Though he was young, he was known as great fighter even though he acted before he thought about a situation. Like his father, he admire strength and the warrior spirit more than then the use of magic however he have a certain respect for clerics. After being a soldier for a shot while, he ventured on his own so that he can make his own story and bash some heads along the way.
Brought up by a single parent and having a younger sister Delshae, I was the man of the house. I Loved telling stories to keep my sister occupied. Others would listen in occasionally to my "tall" tales. Shortly after my 13th birthday, I went to a local traveling carnival at the behest of my sister. They had a story telling contest and 1st prize was 5 silver. While I was away, my mother and sister stayed home attending the house. At the end of the day, I walked away with 3 silver for second place. When I arrived home, the house was in ash as was the neighbors. There was an attack by a local band of cut-throats. My mother lay dead by the cattle pen and my sister was no where to be found. With his last breath, the neighbor had told me the men had taken my sister. I ran to the city to find her, but everywhere I turned i was shunned, pushed, beaten. I fell in with another group my age that called themselves the Wolf Fang. Their leader was an older girl who went by the name of Scarlet Willow. So it was to be, that for the next 7 years, I made myself a home in the cities underground. Learning the trade and craft of thievery, forgery and a lot more. By time I was 20, I was Willows right hand man. I made rules and I made enemies. But I also turned well to do men and woman into spies.
To this day, I still look for those responsible for my mothers death and sisters disappearance.
Name: Seiriki Ability Scores: Point Buy: 12, 13, 13, 10, 10, 15 (Bad Rolls. Lol) Race: Reborn (Human) (She will be disguised to where she is not visible to be a reborn. She has a yellowish, sickly tone to her skin, platinum blonde hair, and pink eyes. She will be bundled up to really only her head is visible. On her body you'd see points where stitching was made, as well as her blackened veins due to the results of the experiments) Class: Bard Background: Sage Alignment: NG Neutral Good
Backstory: Seiriki was the product of a wise sage's experiment. Part of what he called, 'Project: Reditus #3,' Seiriki was raised from the dead primarily using the blood of an adult black dragon. Seiriki was raised in solitude within the sages property, located in a village outside Waterdeep. She learned rapidly, and was trained as a scribe for the sage. After a decade, enough research was completed to begin the forth Reditus experiment. The experiment was a failure, resulting in the death of her "sibling," which lead to her father abandoning his lab and creations, and his first two experiments fleeing as well. Seiriki was left all alone in the abandoned lab.
A year or so later, a lone rogue broke into the lab looking for loot where she found Seiriki. After a scuffle and upon learning the figure in the shape of a human was not a threat, she befriended her and brought her back into the outside world. Seiriki learned of the world through her new rogue friend and her allies. She learned more about human interaction, how to play music, among most things. Amazingly enough, through music Seiriki seems to be able to connect to the spirit world where she once was dragged from.
Now, Seiriki heads to Waterdeep, looking for independence and looking to learn more about the world through her own eyes, with a quill and notebook in-hand.
