"Hmmm and we are? Here?" Ubly points at the map (not near any of the letters) nearest to where they think they might be, but it is clear they just chose a point they could see as it is high on the hills above the lake.
"That is very far from here I think. Are any of these other portents along the way? Not the father's crypt." They smile and wait for Madam Eva to respond while taking a drink of brandy.
“Dead villages…marshes…tombs? This Barovia sounds like a dismal place indeed.” Estelle turns to the group. “If there’s a chance I’ll find my brother in this land, I have no choice but to proceed. I don’t know how much I can contribute on a quest such as this, but I will pray to Selûne for guidance and the protection of our souls. In the meantime - I agree with Baudric…we need our ally.”
Amelia looks at the map. "I'd have to agree with you on that one, Estelle. This doesn't look like someplace I'd like to call home." The devil's words ring in her mind again--she spoke as though there was a chance Amelia may never be able to leave this Barovia. It's an unpleasant thought.

"Saint Markovia’s abbey, great stone dragon, father's tomb, master of the marsh, and a dead village," Bral says under his breath. He then begins observing the map and sees where Madam Eva indicates to go find the abbey. However, he also takes note of Lake Zarovich perhaps that would be the place to find a drowned village. He also notices that Mount Ghakis would probably be the highest peak.
"Finding this ally would be good, but this land looks vast. We'd do better finding horses first. Tell me Madame Eva, would the Vistani have any horses that we could borrow?"

Baudric looks over the map carefully, trying to work out a sense of scale, "Mount Ghakis is shown, but it points to a Mount Baratok as well, which would be the higher peak? I assume his father's tomb would be near his home, which is where? I'd like to avoid it as well if possible, at least for now. As for the marsh lands, I don't see a marsh labeled, is it this area where the river breaks and rejoins, between the marked D's? And the abbey is on the other side of the map over here... As for a village drowned by a river, I see three lakes fed by rivers, perhaps you know of one that once had another village on it? If not, perhaps our ally can assist us with that. I just hope that former ruler drowned with the village."
Eva looks over the map with you. "'The only place I know of where there is a stone dragon is Argonvostholt and that's marked at the 'Q.' The 'U' is the Ruins of Berez where you'll likely find the book you need, and that's where you''ll find the blade you need."
"As for the father's tomb," Eva adds. "That will actually in Castle Ravenloft, Strahd's home. The Vistani might have some horses you could use, or even a wagon like this one."

Bral looks at the map where Eva indicated the location of the stone dragon, "But there's nothing there! At least not according the map. I thought it was supposed to be at the highest peak? Then you say we need to go down to that river from Lake Zarovich. At least they seem to be near each other. So we know our destinations, now if you can tells us where we are we can plan our journey."
After Bral then adds, "Oh and I thought you were the leader of the Vistani?"

While the others hash out the details of the map, Estelle responds to Amelia. "Yes - he disappeared at sea eight months ago under mysterious circumstances. Circumstances that are similar to how we arrived here - taken by mists, if eye witness accounts can be believed."
Eva nods. "I'm more like an elder of the Vistani. I guess I could use my station to intimidate Stanimir into giving you a wagon, but where's the challenge in that. As for the location on the map, you are near the Tser Pool. (G I believe).
She taps her fingers on the desk. "Is there anything else you need from me?"

As Estelle mentions her missing brother taken by the mists, Mia grasps the symbol around her neck. "Should your brother not be here, there are other lands we can explore. I know the pain of losing a brother and if yours may yet live, I would be honored to help you after this."
Bral goes back to studying the map after Eva indicates where they currently are.
"Well, if the Vistani won't give us horses or a wagon, we could always try that village, looks to be about an hour's journey at my guess. Wasn't those children from there?
Otherwise, it's a couple of hours to that river."
He then tanks Madam Eva for her guidance before heading towards the entrance, "Let's see if we can convince Stanimir to provide us with transportation, who wants to help me?"

Estelle smiles at Amelia and Mia, touched by their encouragement. "Thank you both. I hope I can be of some help to you both in achieving your goals."
Turning to Baudric she says "I've never ridden a horse, but I am willing to learn. As Bral says, perhaps Stanimir will provide us with mounts. Thank you, Madam Eva, for the information. And the coffee." She smiles and follows Bral out of the wagon.
Ubly finishes their brandy and then stands and bows to Madam Eva, "Thank you very kindly Madam Eva. Your help and refreshments are much appreciated." They deliver an elaborate bow before gathering their robe and making for the door, moving to find Stanimir.
