With a much steadier hand than the investigator, Erandal takes the tongs from the other man and carefully moves towards the edge of the ooze. With a bit of careful maneuvering and the extra padding on the tongs, he manages to lift the wriggling fish and place the struggling creature in the glass jar that they had set aside. Then, after a brief moment, he manages to lift the jar and bring it off of the ooze closer enough to be approached and investigated.
"Excellent job Erandal, now let's see what we got here." Cornelius says and takes a closer look at the fish in the jar. He will use whatever he can find helpful in the laboratory, and Erandals assistance if given to conduct his investigation of the fish, hoping to find some answers to this mystery.
Investigation: 18 rolled with advantage, if not go with first roll.
Cornelius starts his investigation of the fish and quickly finds a few things.
1) The fish itself seems to be excreting the ooze/slime, and it appears to be the same as the one on the ground. Cornelius cannot get a good sense of its texture, as I am assuming he uses gloves when handling the fish and takes precautions to avoid touching the ooze.
2) The fish does not seem to enjoy being handled or be in the jar and it wriggles furiously as it is in the jar.
3) The fish slowly changes color when it is taken out of the ooze and placed into the jar. It goes from a dirty brown color to a fading grey color and is slowly becoming paler and paler.
Are there any other tests that Erandal or Cornelius would like to conduct in specific?

“The mark of a successful DM is when you have caused more player deaths with doors than dragons, demons, or devils.”
Hard to tell. I'd expect Cornelius to be much more knowledgeble than I am about what test could be done in this laboratory. Generally he would like to know more about this fish, if it even is a fish. He would definitely consider killing it and disecting it in the name of science if that would be possible.
(OOC: This is about the extent of what Cornelius knows to do. I'm not extraordinarily familiar with what kinds of investigations would go on in a lab, but are there any other tests that you would like to conduct before you begin dissecting? You can also google "experiments to perform on a new life form" and it might give you some ideas... Just spitballing here.)

(OOC: Thanks, googled, didn't help me much, I think I'll go with the dissecting now if that's ok, to keep things moving. Need any rolls for that? New investigation or nature?)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
If possible Cornelius would give the help action to Erandal handling the actual dissection. "The first cut should be over here..."Cornelius instructs Erandal. Cornelius Nature check: 19 Nevermind :-P It's a rabbit isn't it.

(OOC: Sorry for the delay!)
Whoever is dissecting make me a Dexterity Check, whoever is investigating the dissection, make a Nature check.
